Re: Tomodachi Life: Living The Dream Sales Are Off To A Flying Start

FishLipFace

@moonblastx felt this way too after a bit; you sometimes have to go out of your way to make your own fun. It is worth it, though. I've been spending hours in the island builder and I'm looking forward to designing more buildings and signs to put around. I also recommend putting in more island lingo when given the opportunity. I've been inserting a bunch of inside jokes between me and my friends and I've had a blast with it!

Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Tomodachi Life: Living The Dream?

FishLipFace

I've put in roughly 10 hours and I'm still unlocking new stuff (3-4 hours of my time were spent in the face paint and island builder lol). I feel like I need to play more to give my definitive thoughts but at the moment, I'd give it an 8. Every time I pop in expecting to only spend maybe 10-ish minutes to check on my miis, I end up spending 2 hours! There's always something that keeps me playing. Hopefully I don't get bored with it anytime soon.

Re: Review: Tomodachi Life: Living The Dream (Switch) - BREAKING NEWS: Mii Life Is Still Bizarre, Hilarious, And A Bit Samey

FishLipFace

Reading the review has made me a little worried as it sounds like it has a similar issue the 3ds one had — repetition. Once you see everything, there's not much else to do. Still, I've been eagerly anticipating this and I'm sure I'll have a lot of fun trading miis with friends (locally at least). Hopefully I get more than 10 hours of enjoyment out of this like the review mentioned.

Re: Mini Review: Rayman: 30th Anniversary Edition (Switch) - Nicely Orchestrated But Misses A Key Note

FishLipFace

Missing soundtrack was a major letdown for me and almost soured the whole experience, but I grew to like the new tracks. The dreamlike atmosphere is still there, thankfully. Though I do hope they put in the og soundtrack, imo this is definitely still worth a purchase. It's clear lots of love was put into the package with all of the behind the scenes material and it is very novel to experience versions of Rayman 1 I would never have otherwise.

Re: Super Mario Galaxy Movie Description Straight Up Spoils An Unannounced Character

FishLipFace

Find it very hard to believe tbh. Theater websites can display incorrect information on occasion and it's possible they pulled this information from an unreliable source. Not to mention if he ends up playing a major role in the plot... we likely would have gotten merch leaks about it by now (like how Bowser Jr. prototype figures were found online months before the first trailer's release — not to mention Wario wasn't seen in the Mcdonald's happy meal toys).

And to be honest I hope he isn't in this movie. There's clearly a lot they're gonna be covering here already and I don't want this to be too fast-paced of a movie if they're trying to cram too much in. Put Wario, Waluigi, and maybe even Daisy in a third film.

Re: Rayman Really Is Back, According To The Series Creator

FishLipFace

If it really is just one instead of the entire original trilogy, I think that's a bit of a bad decision. Rayman 2 is generally held in higher regard than 1 (and sure we have 2 on NSO but that's not really the best port compared to the Dreamcast one). And frankly I just think we're due for a proper port of all of those games on modern systems. Let people experience how great these 3 games are and gain new fans from it if you're actually committed to bringing Rayman back.

All that aside, I'm still looking forward to it as I'm desperate for anything Rayman atp.

Re: Opinion: The Mario Movie Was Okay At Best, But I Can't Wait For The Sequel

FishLipFace

First one is certainly not a bad time, but as a kid I always yearned for more characterization in the mainline mario games, particularly for mario himself. And instead all you know about the guy after watching the movie is "he never gives up" and "he dislikes mushrooms." I don't need super deep interpersonal conflicts or character drama or anything — I just wanna know more about my childhood hero beyond those two traits, and I don't think that's a huge ask even for a kid's movie.

That aside, I'm glad you were able to form a bonding experience with your daughter over this. I know this is probably a lot of kids' favorite movie.

Re: Sega Still Working Out How To Share Sonic SXSW 2020 Announcements

FishLipFace

@Apportal You could not be further from the truth. The Sonic fan community, especially on twitter, has been begging for some sort of announcement for months. Lots of speculation has been going on as to what the potential SXSW announcements would have been. Just because you don't care about Sonic, doesn't mean it's the same for everyone.
