@moonblastx felt this way too after a bit; you sometimes have to go out of your way to make your own fun. It is worth it, though. I've been spending hours in the island builder and I'm looking forward to designing more buildings and signs to put around. I also recommend putting in more island lingo when given the opportunity. I've been inserting a bunch of inside jokes between me and my friends and I've had a blast with it!
I've put in roughly 10 hours and I'm still unlocking new stuff (3-4 hours of my time were spent in the face paint and island builder lol). I feel like I need to play more to give my definitive thoughts but at the moment, I'd give it an 8. Every time I pop in expecting to only spend maybe 10-ish minutes to check on my miis, I end up spending 2 hours! There's always something that keeps me playing. Hopefully I don't get bored with it anytime soon.
That's... wow, that's an amazing alternative! Especially considering how expensive first party docks are. Would certainly make travel easier too. I'll have to consider this
Reading the review has made me a little worried as it sounds like it has a similar issue the 3ds one had — repetition. Once you see everything, there's not much else to do. Still, I've been eagerly anticipating this and I'm sure I'll have a lot of fun trading miis with friends (locally at least). Hopefully I get more than 10 hours of enjoyment out of this like the review mentioned.
I am now even more worried about this movie tbh. I just think there's going to be waaaaay too much packed in and nothing will have a chance to breathe. The first movie was guilty of this as well. This could've been saved for the third film imo.
Look you can disagree with someone but a lot of people are getting way too carried away with the dogpiling. They probably got the point after the first few comments.
Missing soundtrack was a major letdown for me and almost soured the whole experience, but I grew to like the new tracks. The dreamlike atmosphere is still there, thankfully. Though I do hope they put in the og soundtrack, imo this is definitely still worth a purchase. It's clear lots of love was put into the package with all of the behind the scenes material and it is very novel to experience versions of Rayman 1 I would never have otherwise.
Find it very hard to believe tbh. Theater websites can display incorrect information on occasion and it's possible they pulled this information from an unreliable source. Not to mention if he ends up playing a major role in the plot... we likely would have gotten merch leaks about it by now (like how Bowser Jr. prototype figures were found online months before the first trailer's release — not to mention Wario wasn't seen in the Mcdonald's happy meal toys).
And to be honest I hope he isn't in this movie. There's clearly a lot they're gonna be covering here already and I don't want this to be too fast-paced of a movie if they're trying to cram too much in. Put Wario, Waluigi, and maybe even Daisy in a third film.
Lack of single player content could have been remedied with a challenge board akin to sakurai games. Imo that should be a standard feature for all these mario sports games.
@AmanPikon To my understanding, this magazine article was not supposed to be released until Thursday (the date of the next State of Play so... you can probably connect the dots from there).
If it really is just one instead of the entire original trilogy, I think that's a bit of a bad decision. Rayman 2 is generally held in higher regard than 1 (and sure we have 2 on NSO but that's not really the best port compared to the Dreamcast one). And frankly I just think we're due for a proper port of all of those games on modern systems. Let people experience how great these 3 games are and gain new fans from it if you're actually committed to bringing Rayman back.
All that aside, I'm still looking forward to it as I'm desperate for anything Rayman atp.
Pikmin 2 is an odd addition but having the option to either play it via subscription or own it via physical copy is a very good thing to me. Nice to have options.
Switch 1 version was quite notably ugly but serviceable when you get used to it. But this upgrade is a godsend. The differences are immediately noticeable. SO much smoother. Handheld looks great!
I understand the skepticism from some, but Crash is so rich with fun characters I can't help but be excited! Sounds like a great idea to me as long as the humor can appeal to everyone
I've played over 10 hours so far on my switch 2. Presentation can be quite ugly but the game is basically locked at 30 fps for me, and I had so much fun that I stopped caring about the graphics entirely.
I agree with the reviewer — this is a good option if it's your only option. I really do feel you can get past the shoddy graphics and have a great time.
I won't hold it against anyone for picking this up, but it's insane to see people defend outrageous prices like these when these very same games have been rereleased for far cheaper before — cheaper than what they initially retailed for even. It's just as absurd to put down anyone justifiably criticizing this release.
First one is certainly not a bad time, but as a kid I always yearned for more characterization in the mainline mario games, particularly for mario himself. And instead all you know about the guy after watching the movie is "he never gives up" and "he dislikes mushrooms." I don't need super deep interpersonal conflicts or character drama or anything — I just wanna know more about my childhood hero beyond those two traits, and I don't think that's a huge ask even for a kid's movie.
That aside, I'm glad you were able to form a bonding experience with your daughter over this. I know this is probably a lot of kids' favorite movie.
@Arkay To say "it's popular to hate on anything Nintendo" is just ignoring legitimate criticisms people have for this game. There's no reason Switch sports should be released with a fraction of the content it's wii predecessor had.
Headline led me to believe you guys got to play the switch version, but I was mistaken. Unfortunate we don't have much coverage on that version. I know it'll be a lower fps, but I wonder if the graphics will be downscaled at all.
Man, reading this made me forget how much I loved Skyward Sword on the wii. If I buy this though, it'll definitely be during a sale (so probably a couple years from now). Still can't justify full price for reasons many people have already explained before.
The ninja turtles inclusion is already tempting enough for me (Also 80's turtles and not 2012 or the Rise? Interesting). If the game is decently fun I'll check it out. Hard to have full impressions as I'm at work and can't watch the trailer.
@Yosher It's not a streaming exclusive. The article says US viewers without Peacock will still be able to watch the movie "in the cinema, or during the ten-month period in-between the Peacock exclusive months."
YES!!! So happy to hear it's a great port!! Never tried any skating game, and hearing everything about this has me excited to try one out for the first time!!
A lot of people here seem out of touch with modern meme culture (understandably so, it's weird). The main joke of these videos is the overuse of stock sound effects, silvagunner remixes, and outdated memes. This is simply what people are laughing at nowadays. I am one of the those people.
As a huge Rayman fan, this is heartbreaking. Sad to see him move on from his legacy, but I sincerely wish him the best of luck and happiness in his future endeavors. Thank you, Michel Ancel, for making one of my favorite games of all time, Rayman 2.
@Apportal You could not be further from the truth. The Sonic fan community, especially on twitter, has been begging for some sort of announcement for months. Lots of speculation has been going on as to what the potential SXSW announcements would have been. Just because you don't care about Sonic, doesn't mean it's the same for everyone.

Re: Nintendo & Illumination Are Releasing An Untitled Movie In April 2028
Imo it's only one of these 3 options:
1. Starfox
2. DK
3. Mario 3
If they've been developing one of these behind the scenes for a bit, we could maybe see an announcement soon.
Re: Mario Galaxy Movie Helps Franchise Surpass $2 Billion At Global Box Office
@JumpingJackson All their comments are like this. 99% sure they're a troll.
Re: Splatoon Raiders Is Alive, And It's Out This Summer On Switch 2
49.99 (digital at least) is yet another fair price from Nintendo. Interesting.

@Crockin Oh, didn't realize that! Always thought it was open to interpretation.
Re: We Might Have Just Got Our Best Look At Link In The Legend Of Zelda Movie
@Crockin Benjamin Evan Ainsworth is 17. A young adult I guess, but I just mean I'd prefer an older actor!
Re: We Might Have Just Got Our Best Look At Link In The Legend Of Zelda Movie
Looks straight out of the games. I do wish Link was portrayed by an adult in the movie but, I'm sure that won't hurt the film at all.
