Re: Talking Point: Are You A Player Or Collector?

@Radbot42

That's an interesting list, my main take is at this point calling a multiplayer game as not your main game to play? I think that's where the collection problem starts.

People who play large single player games only to quit them for multiplayer games because of limited access to servers(be it 2 -10 years) really shows the shift in gaming. Large single player games really have the end value, but by the time your abe to even make a dent with it playing multiplayer, a new version of that large single player game comes out, along side another multiplayer game.

My shift in gaming has real influence over multiplayer games, be it GTA/Borderlands/Monster Hunter, and even racing games, and because of that I've started to steer away from large single player games like witcher, and going for indie games like the steamworld series or older games I played in the past. That way I don't spend that much money on gaming and I can complete a game in between multiplayer games.

Another reason I like steam, even though nintendo does have something for refunds, you don't need to buy something on sale and keep it because of its lower value due to switch game prices, you can just return it because games are cheaper on steam, and not have a crowded library of games you'll never play.

Re: Nintendo Appears To Be Pulling DSiWare Games From The 3DS eShop

@BulbasaurusRex Unless you have a Huge collection of consoles in your basement, your not really gonna keep your old consoles, between breaking from extended use or just life. The only 2 consoles I have left over the past decade is my vita and my 3ds, both of which have controller issues (Vita has drift on the right side, and 3ds L/R buttons are broken) With steam all you need is a laptop and any controller to play any of those games, for way cheaper/easier then it is to find an old console.

I like buying digital because I know I don't have to search for the game that I want to play, however the only place that is best to actually buy digital games from is on PC. Consoles force you to buy the game multiple times depending on the system(on brand) that you want to play it on, While steam/gog you can access it anywhere/anytime.

While I prefer to play online games on console(Less cheaters/No KB&M) once steam comes up with an option to only allow gamepad players to play with other gamepad players and not the latter, then console gaming(for me) will be the thing of the past.

Re: Of Course Scalpers Are Already Listing Fire Emblem's 30th Anniversary Edition

Fido007

@YoshiAngemon I have to kinda agree, nintendo about 10 years ago was a bit better than it is today. The only game I can think of(that I actually want for this system now) is Monster Hunter, once that comes out next year, I'll keep that game in my system, and start looking into more PC related gaming. If monster hunter rise gets a PC release, I'll probably look at selling my switch.

Re: Microsoft Has A "Very Good Relationship With Nintendo" But Isn't Making Any Promises Moving Forward

Fido007

@status-204 That depends on the person. Some people like owning and replaying games, while others will trade in that game for another one, or updated version. That gamepass would suit them the most.

Me personally I used to worry about owning my games, and I still do buy them. However unless you have complete access to your library(physical or on steam) once the generation gets too old you could possibly lose access to those games.

Re: Random: Epic Goes To War With Apple, Asks Players To "Join The Fight" And "Free Fortnite"

Fido007

@WaxxyOne I guess you don't shop at grocery stores, that or you think your food is grown/processed and graded there?

Grocery stores have a mark up so high that it makes Apple's store's 30% look like small potatoes in comparison.

They made an agreement to get their product on a smart phone(for whatever reason) and apple provides the service to distribute and market it. If fortnite wants MTX in their game they have to pay the price for using that service/being scummy.

If you don't see it now, then there is no discussing it further.

Re: Soapbox: Mario And Zelda Were Great, But GoldenEye Really Switched Me On To Nintendo

Fido007

My First experience with goldeneye actually sucked, I rentef it at our now defunted Midnight Video, when I got it home I couldn't see anything on the T.V screen as it was too dark (I was a kid and knew nothing of contrast) I ended up bringing it back thinking it was made like that and never thought of it.

About 8 months later I was over at a friends house where their family played nothing but goldeneye, I remember their fathet yelling "Nobody plays oddjob" after playing and experiencing that, I ended up getting it for christmas and never stopped tilk prefect dark came out.
