Re: Soapbox: There's No Shame In Playing On Easy, Even If You're A Pro

Fido007

@FangerZero I don't think you understood my reference. Every game requires time to master, simply beating a game and moving on isn't a hardcore model, there is no difference in beating a game and moving on to the next then there is in watching let's plays on youtube.

In order to say you completely beat a game hardcore gamer mode, would be with NO GUIDES, learning every aspect of the game(even if you die hundreds of times) and being able to speed run it with again no glitches or guides in a specific time. For anybody to achieve this it would take more time then that is given for people with other responsibilities to achieve.

If you do this in Easy mode, your cheating yourself out of an challenge towards an accomplishment (when your a hardcore gamer) if the game is too easy, you lose interest, as again there is no challenge, it's a cheap victory as anybody can do that, and if it's a series you grew up with and it becomes dumb down for a casual market, you now have to find that challenge someplace else, and that can be costly, or having to start over at a new genre hoping to find something that suits you.

I'm not proud of the money I spent looking for a game/franchise/genre just because the ones I grew up with are now dumb down casual marketed dumpster fires. Everytime I do find one, it gets casualized. It makes it harder to look forward to, and I just end up picking up games from the past.

@FangerZero I totally agree with your last statement.

How can I say this..... The only people who care... OR should care are the hardcore gamer market. A lot of these people including myself are single, in college, or are young. They are the ones who has the time to fully enjoy video games, and because of that easy mode to them is a complete joke. It would be like you going to work after putting so much time in learning everything only to settle at an entry level position.

The big issue here specifically what I have with easy modes, or 'causal gamers' are their voices in the gaming community.

Take this for example :

Their is a family day event, where you bring your kids and your wife, where you have all these events specifically for families, alright. Then a gaint group of single people who don't have families comes into the event, the ticket clerk is blind and gives tickets to anybody who pays. Then a dispute comes forth, all these single people start complaining that there isn't anything for them to do, some of them don't say much and mingle for few hours then leave, however they don't cause a problem. The other ones don't stop that they payed money for the event that wasn't catered from them and want things changed.

Then next event comes it's not the same as a previous event because of ticket sales for the single people and your stuck with a completely changed event that you wouldn't want to take your family too.

That is the same as casuals changing games for hardcores.

Re: Soapbox: There's No Shame In Playing On Easy, Even If You're A Pro

Fido007

@FangerZero You do know that, their are other mediums out there that are specific for certain situations. You don't need to play hardcore games if your playing casual.

Also if you have a family, is it really a smart move to play hardcore games? I'm asking this because Video games are time vampires.. All of them.

Re: Soapbox: There's No Shame In Playing On Easy, Even If You're A Pro

Fido007

Easy mode.... is basically for casuals who only play games once and move on to the next one. There are a lot of games out there that should have a harder difficulty, however because of "players" spending habits and the consistent whining from people who want nerfs for bosses where stuck with games that are so easy it's a joke... Yet they still play only on easy mode, Give me a break.

Re: Guide: How To Fix A Drifting Nintendo Switch Pro Controller

Fido007

@graysoncharles I got my first experience with my brothers, he barely played it for a few years, then last year he put more time into it. I bought him a new one and nothing yet, however he plays 3ds more then his switch.

Mine came after about 300 hours in, playing dragons dogma, I tried to it to my advantage but it was too frustrating. Got a pro controller 7 months ago and if this article states that It also has the same problem then I may have to put my switch on a backburner till a proper fix is issued. I have no problems taking a break, all my games are offline on the switch.

Re: Random: The Pokémon Company Re-Uploads Its Pokémon Unite Videos, And Fans Aren't Happy

Fido007

@Dracavius You know I like people like you. I personally don't care about this game, nor am I a huge pokemon fan, however blindfolding yourself with your wallet stuck out walking around with a smile on face in a shady neighbourhood will only get you so far. You do realise that it is a Free to start game right? Not free to play, and even then I wouldn't be surprised both will be implemented.

It's better to complain now, realize whats going on and move on from the mess this company has gotten themselves into, then being waste deep with no savings and leaving that mess proves you wrong, it won't be us crying in the end.

Re: Guide: How To Fix A Drifting Nintendo Switch Pro Controller

Fido007

@spirit_flame From what I understand, the people who claim they don't have joycon drift are probably the same ones who play the switch maybe 4 hours a week. While anybody else who plays 4 hours a day would probably see more wear and tear.

Give these casuals time to catch up to us, and then you'll see the bandwagon.

Re: WayForward's New Switch Game Is Bakugan Champions Of Vestroia, Coming In November

Fido007

I watched maybe 5 minutes of people playing a hame I have no interest in waiting for an awesome annoucement (nintendo teased it) got fed up watching it, came back to see what all the fuss was going to be about, and what did we get?

I feel sorry fir anybody who had to sit through that expecting something great from wayforward.

Seriously though what is nintendo thinking, hyping up games from developers people trust, just to load out some crap. Your not fooling me next time.

Re: EVO 2020 Has Been Officially Cancelled

Fido007

@westman98 well then that's a different story, With so many allegations you hear on the news from twitter recently, it just seemed like bandwagoning at this point, so it's little hard to take things like that seriously. The only thing I think about is all the people who now have no job and have to find work in one of the hardest times in recent history.

Re: EVO 2020 Has Been Officially Cancelled

Fido007

Wow serious allegations, so shutting down an event and putting people out of work who had nothing to do with it, must be a huge accomplishment for the parties involved. Jumping the gun aren't you there evo? It hasn't even gone to court yet, just mindless blabber on a website full of cancer.

Re: Loot Boxes Are The Same As Gambling, Says The UK's House Of Lords

Fido007

@mesome713 are you serious? Do you know how many people spend 1000's of dollars during events just to get that 0.0003% drop? with no payoff with the exception of a lost paycheck and a drawing of a character they can use until another broken character gets released?

Between loot boxes and dlc clothing in doa6, I would take the latter as at least I have the product and don't need to spend money over and over for a CHANCE to get it. Edit: They are both equally predatory, however Between 2 demons.

Re: Capcom Says "No" To Monster Hunter World On Nintendo Switch (Again)

Fido007

@Shiro28 Maybe the drop rates where different in the past, or jewels where easier to get, have you ever tried farming attack gems? I got 1 after the initial one they gave you in the 800 hours I put into the game. That with weekly quests you need to stock up on supplies, the people who join your quest just to sit back at the camp and walk away from their controller, or the consistent booting of players from quests (because of survivability) is the reason why people don't sit around taking breaks or disband after one quest, a lot of people where in a rush to get into the good events, if they didn't have the proper gear, they where either left behind (with no idea if the event was coming back) and that made the community the way it is. That or the consistent begging of all the newer players who couldn't put 1+1 together made people isolate themselves.

The generation you grew up with is gone now, I hope you enjoyed it. Either way world did not suck, I was fun jumping on monsters crawling around and taking them down, being able to last second dodge a huge attack from a monster while your hurt teammate megapotioned, or running around the map letting with monsters fight each other and finishing them off because of your lower level gear.

Re: Here's Your Very First Look At The Cuphead Show "Coming Soon" To Netflix

Fido007

@GameBOB64 who says I'm defending anything, if that's where their viewership is then they are going to supply their demand, if people want to create that type of medium to feed off the backs of that kind viewership they are entitled to do so, none of it means you MUST support that medium. I don't support them, if a person has half a brain they'll understand, if not then why would you want to hang out with those people? That's what it all boils down too.

Re: Here's Your Very First Look At The Cuphead Show "Coming Soon" To Netflix

Fido007

@Benji80 Dude you need to chill, If you listen to anything that's on TV and think it's serious, then your living in a fantasy world. Enjoy your own media and forget everything else. Do you see me listening to pop music and think that it'll effect my genre of taste, or my way of life, of course not. 1 I won't listen to it, and 2 those people that do I generally stay away from, there very easy to point out.

Re: Switch eShop Exploit Encourages Fake 'Leaks' Of Wii U And 3DS Game Rereleases

Fido007

@OorWullie that is what I was about to say, ultimately your better off buying it used for a 3ds xl then you are buying it for the switch. Nintendo is ruining it's brand name slowly but surely, and if we can predict what they are planning on price their old ports, you can guarantee people will start wising up and buying old systems cause cheaper.

Re: Nintendo Download: 25th June (North America)

Fido007

@Kanbei I don't get the appeal of the trails series, I played the second one on steam and button mashed for about a good half an hour trying to skip dialog to see what the game was like, turned out that is what the game is about endless dialog.
