Re: Soapbox: There Might Be A Bright Side To Mario's March 31st Doomsday, After All

FernandoMachado

Super Mario Bros. 35 will no longer be on the Nintendo eShop (ok, limited time fun)
The Super Mario Bros. Game and Watch will no longer be available (no problem)
Super Mario Maker's online services will be terminated (2 is around)
Netflix is taking down the Super Mario Bros. 3 cartoon (it was never available worldwide anyway)

now
Super Mario 3D All-Stars will no longer be available for sale, digitally or physically MAKES ABSOLUTE NO SENSE. it's pure anti-consumer to boost full-price sales. a very disrespectful thing to do. in the Iwata years Nintendo was different, even when it was struggling with the Wii U, it never pulled such tactics (I mean nobody forced you to buy amiibo festival)

Re: Poll: Which Remastered Mario Games Would You Pick For A 'Super Mario All-Stars 2'?

FernandoMachado

My dreamie collections:

New Super Mario All-Stars

  • New Super Mario Bros (DS)
  • New Super Mario Bros Wii
  • New Super Mario Bros 2 (3DS)
  • New Super Mario Bros U + New Super Luigi U
(unlikely to happen on the Switch since they went into the easy money grab route with New Super Mario Bros U Deluxe)

Super Mario 3D All-Stars

  • Super Mario 64 (with added DS content)
  • Super Mario Sunshine
  • Super Mario Galaxy
  • Super Mario Galaxy 2
  • Super Mario 3D Land
  • Super Mario 3D World
(could actually happen but I see they splitting it two collections, one with the main games and another with 3D Land & World)

Super Mario Legacy All-Stars

  • Super Mario Bros (based on All-Stars version)
  • Super Mario Bros: The Lost Levels (based on All-Stars version)
  • Super Mario Bros 2 (based on GBA version)
  • Super Mario Bros 3 (based on GBA version)
  • Super Mario World (based on GBA version)
  • Super Mario Land (16-bit remake)
  • Super Mario Land 2 (16-bit remake)

Yoshi's Island Collection

  • Yoshi's Island (with extra GBA levels)
  • Yoshi's Island DS
  • Yoshi's New Island
  • Yoshi's Wholly World
  • Yoshi's Crafted World

Re: Poll: Capcom is Finally Bringing Mega Man Back - Are You Excited?

FernandoMachado

Capcom has one chance to make Mega Man Legacy Collection worth the purchase which is bundling all ten games into one single package. Adding the original Mega Man & Bass on it would be a dream come true, but I'll keep my expectations low. If they simply flog the two separate collections on the eShop, then I'll gladly give it a skip.
Mega Man X Collection is a sure buy for me, as long as all 8 games are bundled together, of course.
Mega Man 11 looks nice but also gives me Mighty No. 9 flashbacks so I'll reserve my judgment for late 2018.

Re: King Boo in Mario Kart '8' and New Splatoon Goodness - Breaking Down the Nintendo Switch Reveal

FernandoMachado

Honestly, graphic-wise Super Mario Switch doesn't look miles away from Super Mario 3D World. Yes, it does look better, better textures and effects, but the jump from Wii to Wii U was far more striking. Of course, we're judging fuzzy snippets of in-development games from a console reveal video, so they're bound to look much better on their separate reveals.

Anyway, I think we're looking at the new iterations of Mario Kart and Splatoon, not remasters.

Now for Super Smash Bros., on the other hand, we might see a remaster as it not shown at the video and it takes ages to build a new one.

Re: Review: Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros. 3 (Wii U eShop / GBA)

FernandoMachado

I'm a sucker for the 16-bit version of SMB3 cause of childhood memories so just booting this up brings a tear to my eye. I'm going through the e-reader levels now and they're so much fun!

I know it would be too hackish but they could have added amiibo support to this to replace the switches in the main game. Like... tap Mario and the Fireball/Coin switch , tap Luigi for Luigi physics switch, tap Bowser for the Hard mode switch, etc... It might have been a little difficult to explain how it's going to work to the general public so I understand why they haven't messed around with it.

Re: Feature: Why We're Still Playing... Bayonetta 1 & 2

FernandoMachado

I started playing Bayo1 for the first time this month. What an amazing game. At first, I thought it was senseless button mashing but as the chapters went on the mechanics became natural! Finished the game on Normal, then went back and done all the possible achievements. Now I'm about to start it on hard!
