@FirstEmperor the Switch has already sold almost 150 million units in less than 8 years, and it's a full console device. The PS2 sold that same amount, in 13 years in the market, and, the vast majority of those sales, came on it's earlier years, when it was sold as a cheap DVD. The only thing that the Switch doesn't have, is made up numbers, like the PS2 does🤣🤣🤣🤣
The short answer, is yes. All companies will want to jump on the bandwagon that the successor of the Switch is, so, of course most of those games will be in the successor.
@Vriess apparently, Tencent were the ones who brought the whole "woke" mentality to Ubisoft's management, not because they actually believe in that "cause", but because they wanted to destroy the company from the inside, so that they could buy them cheap.
@Thief those topics were brought to games by the very same activists that made crappy games, so, bringing those themes up when needed, is not out of place. And he's not commiting any sort of crime here, he's just expressing himself, nor he is insulting or diminishing anybody at all. If you really don't like what he says, just ignore his comments, no one is forcing you to read them or acknowledge them.
@Not_Soos You're absolutely right, they're changing one evil for another, and the ones who propose inclusivity, are extremely exclusive, and end condemning you, if you don't agree with their believes, and also, end up alienating everyone around them, and these companies, have done that with their consumers, by hiring activists, instead of developers and creatives, who actually have the best interest in the audience they should be appealing. This is the problem that Ubisoft has. Their shenanigans behind the scenes, by hiring people under DEI management, has led them to this spot. If you see the strike that the Ubisoft employees did in Paris a few months ago, it looked more like an abedecedary collective parade, than an actual strike. This all started with Tencent acquiring a stake at Ubisoft, and they brought in all the DEI thing with them, causing entire teams to leave Ubisoft, because of that witch hunt they did, for the sexual misconduct allegations made. Interestingly enough, all those people that were fired by the people that Tencent brought in, were inmediately hired by Tencent, so that they could work in their fully owned studios. Apparently, the whole situation that Ubisoft is now, has been done on purpose by Tencent and the Guillemot family, to buy Ubisoft by scraps, and make the company, private. That's what happens when they bring people in, that have nothing to do with games, but only want to push politics, no matter what. Nintendo's case with the Wii U, is not even comparable. The console was poorly marketed, but Nintendo still produced quality software on it, which is clearly showcased with the sales Wii U re-releases that are on Switch, and have outsold their original releases by a large margin. I'm sorry to hear that you're having a rough time, dude, we all normal folk, we're going through rough patches, but, everything will get better soon!
Funny how Layden doesn't mention the crooked deal Sony had with Nintendo. If Yamauchi wouldn't have second guessed the decision, and made the lawyers read every page of the deal with Sony, he wouldn't have realized that Sony was trying to get ahold of all the IPs that were going to have games on the platform, and most of the sales profits of both software and hardware, were going to be for Sony. The press is always trying to make Sony the victim, when they're the perpretrators all the time. Sony just put a different skin on the console, even the controller ports are the same as the Super Nintendo ones hahahaha.
@montrayjak Yeeeah, Nintendo thought on the people that acquired the Classic controllers for the Wii, when they made the controller ports for the classic consoles hehehe. Amazing controller!
Sony lying about their numbers, shouldn't be news at all. Why do you think they stopped reporting the sales of the PS2 after 2012, even when the console ceased production in 2013? Plain and simple, it's because sales of the console plummeted considerably. They only sold 400000 units in 2012, and then 100000 on 2013, and then, they stopped counting, because the steep decline was just going to continue. It's laughable that everyone in the press is believing this BS, you could get an accurate report from Chat GPT, that clearly proves this is just a dumb4ss move by Sony, and was done, because they're afraid of Nintendo and the massive success that the Switch has, and they know it will surpass the PS2, by this time next year.
I was able to grab an original Golden Wii Classic Controller Pro for my birthday this year, a guy in my country had one, pristine new, box never opened, and the box is, obviously in Japanese, and it has that fun little "Club Nintendo" logo there. Great way of keeping a piece of collection with me. Hell of a controller, by the way.
@Toastmaster I did, because the games on the Switch are optimized, so that they also don't drain as much battery life as possible. Even for long trips, the Switch is ideal for that, and you only have to charge it when you're at home, or when you arrive to your destination. With any other device, after an hour, you have to plug it in to a wall to keep playing, that's laughable and stupid. It beats the purpose of those things being "portable consoles" when all that they are, are just more expensive laptops, that don't even do better than laptops hahaha.
@Toastmaster Why have a handheld, if you're going to carry its battery everywhere? It beats the purpose of the console, it's like a Sega Nomad hahahaha. Laughable.
Someone in the comments was mentioning the Lenovo Legion Go, as an example of "battery life". 1.5 hours is a laughable battery time. Imagine a PlayStation portable console that plays the PS5 games natively, it will last 30 minutes, with luck. People tend to forget, that games on the Switch, actually have been optimized to take advantage of the console's capabilities, including, battery life. Hence why the usual playtime with games with high graphical fidelity, goes between 2.5 hours, to 3.5 or maybe 4 hours, depending the game. A lot of games can be played for 6-8 hours on the Switch.
@LavenderShroud those two PlayStation are already on PC, Sony has gone full third party as well. No reason to buy any of those consoles, they no longer have exclusives anymore.
Microsoft will end up making games for other platforms, while they sell highly premium and expensive "consoles" through their own webiste. Kinda like PlayStation are going to end up doing as well. Microsoft's main product for gaiming right now, is Gamepass. They're showcasing that in their new dumb4$$ add.
The first Prime is still the best one in the series. I tried to play this one, on the Trilogy on Wii, but, I got stuck out of nowhere on it, and just gave up.
AWESOME. I play this game with my kids now, and this mode will certainly take me back to 2018, when this game launched on Switch. I used to play it hours during every day for a while, for a period of time when I was unemployed.
I'm tired of hearing the game has frame rate issues. Runs well, and if it falls a bit, that almost never happens, and it's just A BIT. No one with a brain cares about it. Also, the menu for Echoes, I didn't found it annoying at all.
Arkham Knight always played nice on the Switch, it was the first one I played, whenI got the collection for Switch, I wanted to give it another shot, after playing it on my PC, that ran the game worse than it does on Switch hahahaha. But, I prefer the Switch version, due to the stable performance and the portability. A little rough around the edges, yes, but it's still very playable. The game itself it's not that enjoyable, the Batmobile portions are terrible, they turned something that should be fun as hell to play, to be tedious and tiresome to play, to the point that, once you improve the glide stuff to the max, you just glide through the entire city. It's nice to change to other Batmobile models tho, but still, I think Knight is the worst game on the series. I'm playing through Asylum right now, what a great game it is. But, City is the best one, by far, followed by either Asylum or Origins.
@HammerGalladeBro I thought that Nintendo had presence in Mexico. Club Nintendo Magazine always mentioned a Kikuchi person, who was a representative of Nintendo for the region, as well as Steve Singer. But yeah, the rewards club was only for certain territories, I think it started in 2003 in Japan. I hope they add official representatives and distributors for South America in the near future.
@coolioam how are you sure there's going to be any "performance upgrades"? The games could just look the same. This is all an effort from Nintendo to ease the transition between platforms. I don't think it's necessary, but let's see how it plays out.
I'm a very avid third party games buyer on Switch, there was a time, when I only got third party games on the system! Amazing games, all around. It's amazing to see, that, starting on 2021, half of the software sales are from third party publishers.
Since I live in South America, I don't count?? hahahaha. Jokes aside, the Switch will become the best selling console of all time. I've said it from the beginning, confirm it now!
@Skullkid87 it will. By the end of this fiscal year, the Switch will have already sold 152 million consoles, that's just 3 million away from beating the PlayStation 2. The console will still be selling decently for at least, 2 more years after the successor's release.
Nintendo is doing well. The new hardware will be announced next year. Nothing to worry about. We still have lots of games already, and some are still coming.
I was able to download the app from the internet yesterday, it's not available in my country, but, once you install it, it just works normally, letting you choose your Nintendo account, to get started. I've listened music on it all night long, this has been the music streaming app of my dreams, I'm enjoying it a lot!
@PikminMarioKirby me too! I use the Mayflash adapter, it was working well before the update. Now, it takes like two controllers are connected, when there's only one controller connected to the adapter. So far, there's no fix for this issue.
@NinChocolate In Japan, there are rules for a lot of stuff, and a lot of tourists, don't respect those rules. People need to understand, that not everything is tolerated, and even allowed, in other countries, like it's done on theirs.
@LikelySatan I thought I made that point out, that, even with their minority stake at Ubisoft, they've managed to put a lot of influence in the decision making process of the company. They're allied with Yves Guillemot, after all, and it seems they're going to assist him to buy the company, and them, they'll literally acquire Ubisoft.
A lot of people dont' realize that, when Tencent acquired that small stake at Ubisoft, it was the time the whole witch hunt started within the company, and a lot of people was fired, including high positioned devs, like Michel Ancel. But, all of those gusy were quickly picked by Tencent to work in their own studios and make games with them. Then, Ubisoft started to hire activists across all fronts, and well, look at the state of the company now.

@Toastmaster third parties got the memo from Nintendo, to optimize their games to run and fit on Switch, and will be the same case for the successor.

@PROPS In the case of Ubisoft, that's so very true. If you want another term for it, it's management problems.
