Re: Action RPG Yaga Will Bring Twisted Slavic Folk Tales To Switch This November

Dr_Awkward

@Bones4241 I, too, was lucky enough to get a refund, but Nintendo was surprisingly grumpy about it:

N: Refunds are not guaranteed. I don't have to do this for you.
Me: You sold me a literally broken product.
N: So? Read the legal agreement you accepted when you used our eshop. We don't have to give you a refund.
Me: If you don't give me a refund, I will ask my credit card company for a chargeback.
N: If you do that, we will terminate your account [with thousands of dollars of eshop purchases across several platforms.]
Me: Don't make me take you to small claims court.
N: You agreed to this [sucker. Good luck in court.]

This interaction has had me seriously rethinking my decision to be all-digital. I know that my next purchase, The Witcher, will be on cart.

And before anyone says, "hurr durr, read the reviews before you buy a game," NONE of the reviews in the first weeks mentioned any of the game breaking bugs. Not even the one on NL.

Re: Motion Twin Apologises For Frame Rate Drops In Switch Version Of Dead Cells

Dr_Awkward

As someone who normally doesn't care about frame rate, I must say that the small freezes that occur from time to time have a material impact on gameplay. This particular game has fast and vicious combat, as well as permadeath. That doesn't combine well with the freezes.

That said, I am still loving the game, and would rather have it now than wait another 3 months.

Glad the developers are going to do the right thing.

Re: Review: Terraria (3DS)

Dr_Awkward

Picked it up at launch on my N3DS, and I think it's fantastic. That said, I have never played any other version of the game (or much Minecraft), so maybe I don't know what I am missing. No noticeable frame rate issues.

Also bought it for my two sons' 2DSes. They both love it, and we have a blast playing local multiplayer--even when they host, I don't notice any lag or problems.

Haven't had this much fun with a game in a while; it is just a compelling experience. The sense of discovery is tangible.

@Shiner1776 trolls?

"This is why these kind of marketing decisions are so annoying- Bro types online going 'oh boohoo, you actually wanted to buy something specific? Lol, babies.'"

Oh, see, I thought all the people who were whining were whining about not getting faceplates. But thank you for clearing that up--they are whining because people are telling them to stop whining.

"Platypus101 and Dr. Awkward, why be such faceplate trolls?"

See, I would have thought that the trolls were the people who can't deal with the reality of not getting their new shiny.

"Nintendo has struck a nerve somewhere, any way you look at it."

Yes, struck a nerve amongst a tiny whiny fraction of a minority.

Waaahhh!

@electrolite77 I am also entitled to cry if someone calls me a name, but that would just mean I am a baby with no sense of what is real and important.

Further, it seems to me that only a "gullible drone" (snicker) would think that getting his undies in a bunch about not getting faceplates will make Ninety change their decision.

I work in market research; I am 100% certain that Nintendo has run the numbers again and again for a decision like a new product launch, and found that only releasing the NN3DSXL in NA is the right move at this time.

You clearly have zero perspective on how businesses make decisions like this, which is exactly why you sound like an immature child who needs to get less screen time, and more of a sense of what is real and important in the world. Go play outside. (That is what I would tell either my 5 or 6 year old if they were throwing a fit like so many of the people on this message board. Y'all sound just like them.)

@Zodiak13 Thank you for some much-needed rational thinking injected into this mess of whining childishness. This is so sad--people furious because they didn't get the size and color they want of a luxury item.

@electrolite77 In no way whatsoever are you entitled to a consumer product. You have no right to one. You may purchase one if available, but it is not a right. You act as though Thomas Locke enumerated a NN3DS as a Natural Right of Man along with Life, Liberty and Property. Get outside and breathe. It's just a video game console.
