@FrenchVaniIIuxe Yeah, I wasnot a fan of Pocket Dungeon. I feel like they had great success with one single thing, and then spun it off into a bunch of mid-tier projects.
Runs well, look nice, though admittedly, i dont really care much about graphics or frame rates.
After the initial "wow" factor, I found the game pretty bland and wished i hadn't purchased:
-QTEs just kinda suck
-The "tombs" are infantile and very basic.
-The progression economy is too well funded, meaning that you can basically buy every upgrade; player choice is pretty meaningless because you can buy it all.
-Story elements are ludicrous: these valuable artifacts are just lying around, untouched by the cult? Seemingly hundreds of cult members? This all seems nonsensical.
-At times, the absolute and graphic brutalization of LC felt a big misogynistic.
-Gyro aim for the artifact viewer, but not for weapon aiming???
@the_beaver How many spanish-only speakers exist who would buy the game if it were translated? The profit margin is likely smaller than the cost of the translation team. We are not talking a AAA release, this is a fairly niche game that is now several decades old.
@metaphysician It's probably an even smaller number: the people in their desired markets who speak only the language that is being omitted, and would be likely to buy the game if the translation were made.
@teo_o "accessibility issue" lol. We are not talking about government services or jobs, or making games for people who have only one hand. Those are actual accessibility issues, and your petulant insistence that video game difficulty falls in that category trivializes the notion of accessibility.
@Oldstalk You're not stating your opinion on the game; you are claiming that you know better than the developers what made Hollow Knight a successful game. Those are two different things.
@SalvorHardin The only talking down I see re: silksong is to the people who insist that the game needs easier modes. If it is too hard for you, that is OK. Find a different game. I'd prefer if DK Bananza was more difficult, but guess what: that's not the game Nintendo wanted to make, and that's OK. I'm not out here on every single comment section whining to the whole internet about it. My life will be JUST FINE without DK Bananza having a hard mode. I am sure Silksong's difficulty will not cause you any harm.
@SurprisedRobinChu redditors? The same people who were loudly complaining about the price of the switch 2, claiiming it was doomed and that theyd never buy it?
@DreadfulDragon your comment shows perhaps why you are so bad at the game and insist on blaming the designers? Instead of thinking like the character you play as, you seem to expect to bumble around a dangerous world. Games have internal logic. I am so sorry that you cannot think outside your human experience! Good luck with life, and that wall!
@DreadfulDragon This is the part where it proves to be a YOU problem: "a reasonable person does not expect their vehicle to be booby trapped, therefore would not be looking for warnings and even if they saw them may not pay them heed"
What part of the world of Pharloom is supposed to be reasonable exactly? The talking bugs? The needle-wielding protagonist, a bug named Hornet? The bug religion?
You have entered a wildly foreign world, and brought into it far too many assumptions about how it operates.
@DreadfulDragon The trap was telegraphed outside of its room. The trap was telegraphed when you spring it (as are all the traps in the game, using the same trap sound). There is a way that the trap can be disarmed. If you can't handle the game, that's fine, but it is more about you than about "BaD gAmE dEsIgN."
@Jade37 you assumed there was an unspoken agreement...obviously, there was not LOL. You can cry about it, that is fine, but that's what separates the pilgrims from Hornet.
The world of Pharloom is supposed to be warm and fuzzy. There is no place for mean things such as this in Happy Girl Bug Simulator. The devs are making me upset and I need a cookie now cuz there were no reviews and I want to enjoy the hype too.
To everyone who finds Silksong too difficult: why did you expect this would not be a comparable level of difficult to other 2D Souls-like games? Its predecessor, Hollow Knight, was noted to be difficult. Did you just get hit by the hype train and decide that a day 1, no-review purchase would be fine?
It is up to the designers to curate the experience of the game they wish to ship. Like many of the game's pilgrims, some players just may never make it to the Citadel. It's certainly not the end of the world. HK was known as a difficult experience; people could have waited for reviews if this were a concern of theirs.
@WhiteUmbrella If what you said is true ("There is negativity around keycards that is proportionate to the number of people that feel that way about them, and the comments are a good barometer of the overall feeling within the community") then the Switch 2 launch would have been a complete failure, not the fastest selling console launch of all time.
The anti-keycard people are, just like the S2 Launch Doomers, a small and annoyingly loud group of complainers.
The VAST majority of people don't care one way or another. This is why you don't see pro-KG or pro-physical media comments to NEARLY the same degree.
Just stop the complaining. It sounds like petulant, demanding toddlers.
@Divide_and_Wander a very vocal group of people is against game key cards, and they dont shut up about it. They sound like the Switch 2 Release Doomers!
@JohnnyMind Have you lost your mind, Johnny? The whole INTERNET is built on hot takes, jumping the gun, and love-it-or-hate-it-and-nothing-in-between engagement metrics.

Re: "It's Make-Or-Break For Sure" - Shovel Knight Dev's Fate Rests On Upcoming Zelda-Like
@somnambulance how do you know it has a shot at 2026 GOTY? It's not even released. How do you know it is good?

@FrenchVaniIIuxe Yeah, I wasnot a fan of Pocket Dungeon. I feel like they had great success with one single thing, and then spun it off into a bunch of mid-tier projects.

Re: PokéPark Kanto Includes A Major Area Those With Limited Mobility Can't Access
@Lizuka by calling a specific video game's difficulty an accessibility issue, one trivializes actual accessibility issues.
Re: PokéPark Kanto Includes A Major Area Those With Limited Mobility Can't Access
To all the people who claimed silksong's difficulty created "accessibility issues": this is what an actual accessibility issue looks like.

Re: The Game Awards Nominees Announced, Donkey Kong Bananza Up For GOTY
Great list. Unfortunately, even a GOTY win would be unlikely to quell the bleating about Silksong's difficulty.
Re: Hollow Knight: Silksong Update Announced, Here Are The Patch Notes
@rvcolem1 oh, i think it is quite difficult, but agree that it can be beaten with patience and practice.

Re: Hollow Knight: Silksong Update Announced, Here Are The Patch Notes
@Oldstalk Right, the people who made Hollow Knight, didn't understand what made Hollow Knight great. But you do.
How many games have you published again?
Re: Hollow Knight: Silksong Update Announced, Here Are The Patch Notes
@BaldB3lper78 lol i am nowhere near one of "the best gamers" and it was fine. Just took patience and practice.
Re: Switch 2 Has The Largest Third-Party Software Lineup Ever For New Nintendo Hardware
So much whining about game key cards on here, but the sales numbers don't lie: the offline world is just fine with what is being sold.
Re: Switch 2 Sells Over 10 Million Units, Nintendo Increases Forecast Even Further
@Striker21 it is called NSO and costs $80 for a year long family membership.

Re: Opinion: Silksong's Tight Construction Is Exactly What I Need After Too Much Open-World Loafing
@N8tiveT3ch definitely sounds like a you problem. Maybe stop crapping all over other people's enjoyment? Commenting is, after all, optional.

Re: "I Have No Words" - Silksong Fans Are Losing Their Minds Over One Bench
@Jade37 Bad game design? Or good worldbuilding? This area is rife with traps. Why wouldn't there be a trap here?
Re: "I Have No Words" - Silksong Fans Are Losing Their Minds Over One Bench
@inenai This is entirely within the spirit of the in-game world. I am glad Team Cherry has the stones to commit so hard to their worldbuilding.

Re: Talking Point: Is Hollow Knight: Silksong Too Difficult?
@HeldHero Couldn't something similar be said about people who are clamoring for an easy mode?
Re: Talking Point: Is Hollow Knight: Silksong Too Difficult?
@eldersnake I don't see how painting normally would have altered Picasso's artistic vision. Or at least making a "normal" version of his paintings.

Re: "I Can't Afford To Give It Away For Free" - Silksong's Low Price Is Causing Devs To Re-Evaluate Their Own Games
@Elitepatriot Nintendo is likely chasing a revenue maximization price point, rather than a unit sales maximization price point.
Re: Review: Star Wars Outlaws (Switch 2) - An Underrated Adventure, A Super-Solid Port
@WhiteUmbrella I get it, WiiU was the best console ever, especislly because it used discs. Good job, mate, you convinced me.
Re: Review: Star Wars Outlaws (Switch 2) - An Underrated Adventure, A Super-Solid Port
@HugoGED if you consider that "a huge inconvenience" then you really have a unique perspective on things.
Re: Review: Star Wars Outlaws (Switch 2) - An Underrated Adventure, A Super-Solid Port
@WhiteUmbrella you are really trying to claim the WiiU as a success story? Huh.
Re: Review: Star Wars Outlaws (Switch 2) - An Underrated Adventure, A Super-Solid Port
@HugoGED "a real inconvenience" because yout have to...DOWNLOAD A GAME.
The horror!
Re: Review: Star Wars Outlaws (Switch 2) - An Underrated Adventure, A Super-Solid Port
@dskatter and it is that exact behavior that makes you sound like a spoiled child. Thank you for proving my point.

@Medic_alert you can cut off your nose to spite your face, but a key card is strictly better than digital.
