Re: Random: "Die-Hard Nintendo Fan" Reportedly Forked Out Over $40K To Ask For A New F-Zero

Dinglehopper

@AnnoyingFrenzy I deleted my original comment because a bunch of those recent ventures slipped my mind when I wrote it lol. So thanks for bringing those up!

I 100% agree with what you said too: "that Nintendo isn't focusing on the right areas to take risks in."

While they may be taking risks, it's in ventures that a lot of veteran/older fans may not care for. Some are admittedly pretty interesting, like Gamebuilder Garage, but a lot of us would rather see some old IPs brought back. Kid Icarus Uprising was amazing and it's what I would consider a "risk" for Nintendo to make. I wish they would do more like that!

Re: Sonic Frontiers Shows Off Cyber Space And Switch Gameplay In New Trailer

Dinglehopper

Don't know what is making people think this suddenly "looks good". It's still the exact same boring game we've seen in footage already. Same terrible Sonic 06 combat, generic enemies, and uninteresting landscape. It's still "SeGa HiRe ThIs MaN!!!!!!": The Game.

Oh, but Green Hill Zone is in it, so it looks good now? Wow, didn't realize that's all it takes to impress Sonic fans...

Re: Here's How Sonic 3's New Music In Sonic Origins Stacks Up To The Classics

Dinglehopper

@Dark_Isatari Fair enough! I guess it really depends on what you grew up with. I listened to some of the tracks in the prototype/pc version and they're honestly not bad! They almost sound more....Sonic-y...? If you know what I mean? They actually fit in more than the Jackson tracks. I'm more used to the OG Genesis songs (and prefer them) but I can totally understand liking the other versions.

Re: Rare's Banjo-Kazooie Is Rumoured To Be Making A Comeback

Dinglehopper

I want to be excited, I really do....but modern Rareware just isn't the same as when they were with Nintendo. Banjo Kazooie, Tooie, and DK64 are some of my favorite games of all time, but I don't think they could recapture that magic.

If it ends up being Banjo-Threeie AND it's directed by Gregg Mayles with a team of people who worked on their N64 collect-a-thons, then I feel like I could actually get excited. It'll suck if it's stuck on Xbox though. I would only end up playing it if it came to PC.

Re: Talking Point: Should Sonic Frontiers Be Delayed? We Discuss Its Bizarre Debut And Fan Reaction

Dinglehopper

I'm not trying to exaggerate when I say this, but this looks like Sonic 06 levels of bad. Not even kidding, I think this actually looks WORSE than 06.

I've beaten 06 and I can genuinely say that I think the gameplay of it is more enjoyable then what Frontiers has presented so far. This is extremely soulless, directionless, and boring beyond belief. I even find the repetitive piano music to be annoying.

Sonic Team needs to retire as a development division. It's mind blowing how they just can't comprehend what Sonic fans want.

Re: New Sonic Frontiers Gameplay Lets The Blue Blur Show Off His Combat Skills

Dinglehopper

This is so laughably dull and bland. Sonic looks really out of place in this game and it literally looks like one of those Unreal Engine "Sega hire this man" tech demos.

The enemies are super generic and uninteresting and the combat looks like Sonic 06 levels of terrible. HP sponge enemies and the way Sonic just.....levitates.....after connecting with an enemy is such 06 jankiness.

Also, the music is just so forgettable sounding. Sonic music is memorable and typically upbeat. This whole GAME just shouldn't be Sonic. The repetitive piano music, the environment and setting, the combat, etc, is NOT what Sonic should be. None of this is particularly good. It all just looks really generic.

Re: Pokémon Scarlet And Violet Releases 18th November

Dinglehopper

Looks better than Sword and Shield, but that's not saying much.

The Pokemon series is the FIFA of JRPGs at this point. They pump them out way too fast and they've all started blending together. The gameplay barely even changes and it's not like they're worth playing for the story either.

I'll stick to good JRPGs, thanks.

Re: Flipnote Archive Launches, Showcasing 44 Million Flipnotes From DSi Era

Dinglehopper

@Orokosaki I mean, what does that say about the modern gaming industry? If all everyone's doing is looking back, then doesn't that show there's a problem with modern games?

I much prefer old games as they were obviously made with much more care, passion, and soul. They released as full, complete packages and weren't just about draining your wallet for content.

I think game companies need to do some looking back themselves.

Re: Dragon Quest Creator Yuji Horii Shares Brief Update On Next Mainline Entry

Dinglehopper

@Mauzuri Yea, the composer for the DQ series has to be one of the most overrated game composers of all time.

His music was super generic, unmemorable, repetitive, and annoying (at times). To top it off, he was against making his music orchestrated and instead opted to use fake, generic, crappy sounding synthetic instruments. I also can't even hum a single tune from any DQ other than the main theme. FF composer Nobuo Uematsu is FAR superior and has made so many memorable and iconic pieces of music. He's the king of JRPG music and one of the best composers in the whole industry.

As messed up as this will sound, I'm happy that the series will get some new composers due to his passing. I'm not happy that he's dead, but I'm happy that people with far more talent might potentially take over. Although....I'm worried that they'll just try to imitate his bland composition style 😒

Re: NFT Project With Artwork From Mega Man Artist & Mighty No. 9 Creator Keiji Inafune Confirmed

Dinglehopper

Wow, Inafune is so hilariously greedy and terrible that it's kind of sad. Did he just decide to stop "making" Red Ash and jump on NFTs seeing how it's the next biggest money making scam?

I mean, he already used Kickstarter to scam fans out of money so I guess NFTs were the next logical step. This man has fallen so far from grace that it's hard to imagine he had anything to do with the creation of Mega Man.

Re: Random: This Pokémon Fan Now Owns A Second Incredibly Rare Official Pokécar

Dinglehopper

@ParadoxFawkes Life should only be about the pursuit of happiness and if its collecting something, dancing, traveling, etc, then that's all that matters. We all die someday so do whatever makes you happy. I feel more sad for you that you find others happiness "superficial" and "sad".

The fact you even think she's just "filling a hole in her heart" sounds like complete and total projection on your part. Sorry you can't find happiness for yourself and look down on others who can enjoy life and it's simple pleasures.

Re: Random: This Pokémon Fan Now Owns A Second Incredibly Rare Official Pokécar

Dinglehopper

@ParadoxFawkes Holy s**t dude, could you be more depressing and negative?

Maybe you need to get a hobby or some kind of passion instead of "trudging through life, waiting to die" or judging someone elses happiness. It's comical how much of a downer this post is lmao. People find happiness in many ways and you don't have the right to call it "sad" or "superficial".

You say "I'm happy when people get to live out their dreams" but it really doesn't sound like it.

Re: Random: Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Players Really Want Nintendo To "Fix" Coconut Mall

Dinglehopper

I still can't fathom how anyone can defend this DLC. 48 tracks or not, they're so poorly implemented, lazy, and lack the quality and effort put into MK8's original tracks.

I never want to play on any of these courses but now you're forced to if you play online. IMO, Nintendo's ruined the MK8 experience and lowered the quality of the game substantially by implementing these ported, low quality mobile game courses.
