@dugan if you're in the UK, with Amazon you need to apply to pre-order, then hopefully a day or so later you get invited to pre-order.

@dugan personally, pre-ordered via Amazon.uk. Still an option for anybody in the UK - not everybody on the internet is American...

I can totally understand peoples concerns and frustrations. Astro's playroom for free with my PS5 was incredible, so I just laugh at the cheek of charging for what looks like a cheap knock-off by Nintendo!

Selfishly, it doesn't really impact me as I'm now primarily a PS5 gamer, and like my Switch, my pre-ordered Switch 2 will just be used for select first party Nintendo games, and the odd indie and retro arcade game (very excited for what else comes out via arcade archives 2)... and regardless of price, I can afford 1 or 2 pricey Nintendo games a year. I remember paying crazy money for Mega Drive and N64 game cartridges back in the day, for example, and put hundreds of hours into my Mario and Zelda games, so it's still not a problem.

The hardware looks better than I expected, despite the fact I'll not use the mouse functionality or the stupid camera chat. Hoping that Trumps' actions don't have too bad an effect on my US gaming pals.

still hoping for another mode that lets you race for more than a single lap on these tracks (aside from the first track in each Grand Prix), as nothing so far on the official site or tree house footage suggests that this is possible...

and for something else that isn't Forza Horizon related, haha. Driving to the next race / area is straight from FH2, and the FH series pioneered the open world driving game. Expected more originality from Nintendo (but still per-ordered the S2 with MKW)...

maybe, but to be honest I'm more waiting on / dreaming of Super Mario Galaxy 2 to be released in some form, so I can complete my 3D Mario set on Switch 2 (albeit I already have it for my Wii)...

couple of thoughts...

• there are 29 tracks shown on the map, you would expect 28...
• I hope there is a mode where you can do traditional, i.e. more than a drive to a track and then just 1 lap

but looks fun

Hope it does go up in price in the US, so it's closer to how much we have to pay in the UK and EU, why should it be cheaper for Americans?

tariffs or not, doesn't seem like US Switch 2 games will be any more expensive than EU prices, which put them at about $100.

Baffles me why EU prices are so high!!

Just hoping they don't take the pi$$ with the price to upgrade my digital BOTW from S to S2... but this is Nintendo and I ain't holding my breath for a fair price. Mario Kart World aside, the upgraded BOTW is all I see myself playing on my S2 this year.

The fact they are yet to confirm BOTW or TOTK upgrade prices worries me... I fear it'll be something crazy like £20.

My only gripe on Switch BOTW was when looking at bokoblin towers (?) from distance they looked empty, then as you glided towards them all the monsters popped in. Hugely jarring, I hope this is now fixed!

been out for a curry, back home now and part annoyed, part not remotely surprised...

annoyed that as somebody who has owned just about every N console and bought a tonne of games, I'm not deemed worthy to be allowed to pre-order, as I don't pay for the rubbish online (it is awful)...

I hope I can easily transfer my save files from my Switch across! Especially my BOTW and TOTK game saves...

Not even a concern on XSX or PS5, but fingers crossed it's not too fiddly

Would be great if they bumped up frame rates on some Switch games, but can't imagine Nintendo doing anything for free haha

One of my fave games ever, played so much of this with 2 mates back in the day. Got it on the VC on my Wii, but input lag ruined it. Not the same game unless you're playing on the original hardware, you can't be precise enough with the inputs!

hmmm, missed this when it was released... I ADORE Twin Peaks (went to Washington state a few months ago and visited some of the filming locations!) - and I love Oxenfree. May have to look into this game...

haha, BOTW No. 1 for me this year (!!) - mostly as I've finally started Master Mode this year, ahead of TOTK. But also spent a good chunk of time poodling about in Normal Mode, getting obsessive about collecting things, haha.

Lots of other games, nothing close in number of hours spent though!!

Cruis'n Blast and Mario Kart (DLC related) are the others in the 'Top 3'

Finally got round to playing through Gris and Inside, both stunning games, but didn't take massive amounts of time to finish and appreciate them.

Just watched this... 4 times in a row. WOW.
Grinning like a fool - i know this is a kids film, but the big kid in me, who has been playing Mario games for over 30 years, was so happy this film is being made. Mario Kart, rainbow road, all the Yoshi's, god it looks amazing.

yep yep - 100%. never felt compelled to utterly exhaust a game before, but BOTW is just so good. all koroks, 100% map, all outfits all maxed out, best horses, etc. Fair to say i got quite obsessed with it!! in 30 years of gaming, never been as excited for a new game as i am for the sequel

looks awful. the reviews I saw were 1/5 and 2/10. you didn't mention those ones though. funny that...

just checked the amazon site, they didn't sell out pre-orders, you can still buy the damn things today! either stock levels were much higher than reported, or these are very unpopular!

Oh no - I was in Seattle a few weeks ago, visiting from UK, and very close to one of their stores! I would have popped in if i had known it existed!!

been on my switch for months... picked up for £5 and finally played through tonight in 3-4 hours. absolutely adored it.

love space harrier, but no interest in the japanese obsession with these weird manga young girl characters. also looks like it's playing at about 5 frames per second!

is there a demo? laggy controls sounds awful, and the review doesn't say anything about how the game actually plays, or how many courses there are, etc.
tempted but not cheap for a punt...

pass. we are moving backwards - without a lightgun option these sort of games are a total waste of time.

@RandomNerds you didn't ask me obvs, but for me, the new mario golf game is massively dumbed down, to facilitate speed golf. no fine control over your shots, it's a basic 2 click, with random cut/fade once you hit the shot hard. mario golf on n64 was miles ahead as a sharp controlling golf game, with loads more content for a single player. the new game is all about the online speed golf gimmick.

easy come easy golf is a purchase for me this weekend... and it didn't even make the EU/UK direct, just the japanese....
some great N64 titles being added, I think i'll take the plunge once goldeneye and 1080 are on there...

forget about the sure to be awful switch sports golf... easy come easy golf for the win

21 holes... not 21 courses. So just a tad over 1 course. it's graphically so basic looking, surely adding another couple of courses wouldn't have been that much extra effort?

I want this to be good, but i expect it to be rubbish...

@KingMike I imported the astro city from Japan, and Quartet runs fine for me? not played it all the way through though.

@shonenjump86 yep, the pc engine / turbografx mini still gets a lot of play, so many good shooters!

all about the new, smoother frame rate, scaling space harrier 2 for me! original space harrier arcade is my fave ever game, so this was a huge lure to me

A compilation of their own arcade games from the last 30 years would surely sell pretty well...

As a 40 something sega nut who will forever regret selling his master system and megadrive, having this, my original MD mini and astro city mini scratches all of my retro sega itches. I can see why lots of folks aren't keen... I just HAD to have this. Kind of completes the set for me.

@SpringDivorce i think i read that space harrier 1 and 2 are on it, both remasters with better frame rates? so not the same as the space harrier 2 on the original mini.
