Re: New Pokémon Legends: Arceus Trailer Reveals Brand New Pokémon, Kleavor

DevinRex

Love the new Kleavor. Great news seeing all the new content in the update trailer as well.
My main gripe still remains with this game though... That lighting looks absolutely terrible. I'm not sure if it's because they're going for an art style or something, but that pale desaturated harsh light on everything really uglifies the otherwise beautiful world.

Re: Nintendo Officially Reveals Kirby And The Forgotten Land

DevinRex

The desert area reminds me of that famous "Kirby GCN" game that was cancelled a while back. I remember how badly I wanted that game being one of the first concepts for a 3d Kirby adventure game. Needless to say I'm getting this new open world Kirby day one. Just what the doctor ordered.

Re: Switch Firmware Update 13.0.0 Weirdly Speeds Up Some Game Boot Times

DevinRex

@Cyberjew Agreed. I own some Sony XM4s and the connection quality to the Switch is downright abysmal. Connection is inconsistent and drops out frequently in some games (Pokemon Sword music seemed too much for the console's Bluetooth to handle), and when it's not dropping it suddenly gets VERY choppy. Sounded so terrible that after disconnecting and reconnecting, paring over and over again, I just gave up and went back to using my Bluetooth dongle.

It's insane how garbage the Bluetooth feature has been on this console when it works beautifully on every other next-gen system. Nintendo needs to work on this ASAP.

Re: Talking Point: Switch Vs. PS5 And Xbox - Nintendo Preps For The Holidays With A New SKU And European Price Cut

DevinRex

None of them. I have a Switch for Nintendo games, an Xbox Series X, since I like to play Forza and Halo on my TV, and PC for everything else. I don't care for most of the PS5 games. The few Sony games I am interested in (Horizon Forbidden West and Kena) both are making their way to PC as well, so there's no need for me to get a PS5.

Really glad I didn't listen to the fanboys on social media and grabbed a Series X day one, before it got extremely scarce. The whole narrative of "Xbox Series X will always be in stock cuz no one's buying em!" Was complete BS. Hilarious seeing those same folks now raging at Microsoft for not making enough consoles.

Re: Random: Check Out These Mock-Ups Of Game Boy For Nintendo Switch Online

DevinRex

@Ogbert Exactly. I'm shocked this guy was featured not once, but twice on these low-effort, copy paste jobs. You see people make this stuff all the time on Reddit.

The "Gameboy" icon isn't even consistent with the real NSO icons, showing the Gameboy at a 2/3rds angle instead of a front-facing one like the NES/SNES icons. The red used in the bg is totally different. the font is different and incorrectly sized and spaced. Looks like it was made in 3 minutes by memory. Sloppy as hell.

Re: Sakurai "Can't Count How Many Times" He's Thought About Quitting Game Development

DevinRex

@MegaVel91 You would be surprised.

Miyamoto and Aonuma, creators of Mario and Zelda, have a team of people they've trained at the ready to continue the franchise if anything happens to them. I wouldn't be surprised if Sakurai is doing the same. The franchises and IPs Nintendo holds are simply too valuable for them to not have that extra insurance in their back pocket. That's what I'd do at least.

Re: Sakurai "Can't Count" How Many Times He's Thought About Quitting Game Development

DevinRex

Oh hush Sakurai. We all know you'll keep making Smash for Nintendo consoles til you retire.

Acting like it isn't one of the biggest franchise on the system. The guy's a true legend. He's doing his job and he's good at what he does. It's hard work, but that's how business works.

If he truly wants to quit, he'd have a protege under training to take the reigns for him..I wouldn't be surprised if that's exactly what he's doing behind the scenes, so when he does finally retire, it's a smooth transition.

Re: Tennis Ace Serena Williams Speaks About Her Love For Nintendo And Her Favourite Switch Games

DevinRex

@johnvboy

I'm here for Nintendo news. I'm not here to play TMZ and whine about the behavior of someone who doesn't even know (or care) that I exist. I'm glad she's enjoying the Nintendo console. Mario Aces is a great game, and seeing a legendary tennis player promoting it puts a smile on my face.

We get it, you hate Serena. You made that clear. Not sure how she hurt you so badly, but you truly have my pity. You obviously prefer to stay being petty and immature, so I'm going to end it with you here and I bid you adieu.

Re: Tennis Ace Serena Williams Speaks About Her Love For Nintendo And Her Favourite Switch Games

DevinRex

@johnvboy The reason Serena is highlighted is because she's playing the Nintendo Switch.

Point out in the article where it talks about her "Anger issues"? I'll wait.

Gaslighting. Again, she has anger problems, we get it. Many tennis players do. Many celebrities and athletes in general do. Has nothing to do with the fact that she's enjoying a Nintendo Switch. Stop the petty "Serena hate train". You're allowed to have your opinion, as I'm allowed to call it BS, have my opinion that you Serena haters need to grow up and to let it go.

Re: Tennis Ace Serena Williams Speaks About Her Love For Nintendo And Her Favourite Switch Games

DevinRex

@johnvboy Other players have acted as badly. In a comment chain of nothing but BS one-sided opinion, pointing that out is the biggest truth bomb I've heard so far. Don't try to gaslight Serena as the only Tennis player with anger issues. I respect a guy more who sees through bandwagoning for likes and tells it like it is. Again, I'm glad someone went out and said it into the echo chamber.

The "I hate Serena" camp is the most resentful, pathetic, tired group of #cancelculture individuals I've had the displeasure of knowing within the sport community. Many players have anger issues. Everyone has flaws. Let it go.

Re: Soapbox: Space Jam 2 Is A Video Game Cash-In That Doesn't Quite Get It Right

DevinRex

Had a feeling this movie was going to be a complete flop. The first space jam was already stretching this type of "franchise orgy" thin, bit atleast it was a decent movie overall, and MJ has passable acting skills. Helps that he was accompanied by other actors as well. This movie is a clusterfrick of complete corporate BS, fully loaded with cringe while also missing it's mark.
On a positive note, at least this movie made the first space jam evolve from a "funny below average movie" to a "funny below average movie that's at least better than the sequel". Lebron James has the acting skills of a wet carpet, and it's a bigger insult to his legacy than a memorable side movie. The guy didn't even need to do it, he's wealthy as hell and donates tons to charity. There's no reason why he should've taken this contract. Outside of course in trying to "one up" Michael Jordan at every opportunity, and in turn, failing miserably.

Don Cheadle also completely wasted his talent being in this movie. If I were him, I'd throw this one under the rug and act like it never happened.

Absolutely terrible.

Re: Random: Zelda: Breath Of The Wild Player Beats Game Without Stepping In The Same Spot Twice

DevinRex

@bobzbulder I assume it was just laziness and / or procrastination, coupled with trial and error.

They made up their own rules after all, so they probably didn't have any strict deadline on when to finish it. It would've been more impressive if it was done in say a few minutes. I agree that they could've simply mapped out their path from the start and completed it way faster.
