Re: Nintendo 64 And Sega Genesis 'Expansion Pack' Announced For Switch Online, Launches This October

Deadeyerobbie

Lots of negativity out there, but as someone who would love the virtual console to come back this isn't a bad start for n64. Yes we need to see the price, but we don't need the controller to play these games (I will thanks, love the n64 controller). As its a higher payment service they are going to have to add more games steadily or people will not renew. Yes I can play most of these games on my wii/wii u but i can take my switch anywhere. N64 and megadrive games should look good on the switch screen. And if the service does well Gamecube next. Bet it will be a long wait๐Ÿ˜…

Re: Poll: So, Will You Be Getting A Switch OLED Or Valve Steam Deck?

Deadeyerobbie

If Nintendo had released an upgraded Switch processor/power wise, it would be day 1 for me. To improve some of the games which struggle (age of calamity I'm looking at you) would be great. Since my release day Switch is running fine bar having to fix several joy-cons for drift there is no need as things stand. Roll on Switch 2, I am ready and waiting.

Re: Review: Turrican Flashback - An Annoyingly Incomplete Collection That's Still Worth A Look

Posted this in yesterday's Turrican article 'Got my copy from base. It's great. The flashback collection is a little bare bones in turns of extras. A few screen sizes and options, save states and rewind feature. But it's the games it does well. The best 4. Turrican 1 and Turrican 2 from the Amiga, then Super Turrican from the Snes and Mega Turrican from the Megadrive. Emulation looks good after a few hours of play. I am having so much fun rediscovering all the secrets from my childhood. Turrican 2 remains my favourite game ever. I just wish it had the c64 versions as well. But even the limited collectors additions do not have those'.
As it may of been mentioned in this review it is missing Super Turrican 2. A good game but more Contra than Turrican. Plus this flashback collection is just under ยฃ20 at base. To get the full range you need to get both the special collectors editions at ยฃ35 each last time I looked. All the flashback Turrican games run well and the music is spot on. Great for the price. I would love to do a comparison on the 2 amiga titles against my amiga originals but my A1200 is not working (disc drive again!). But would bet these new versions run a tiny bit faster.

Re: Hyrule Warriors: Age Of Calamity Is Officially The Best-Selling Musou Game Ever

Deadeyerobbie

I couldn't get into Hyrule Warriors on the Wii U and have never played a dynasty warriors game. However I love this. The story good, gameplay is fun and there is so much to do. 99 hours in and at 99%. Yes the frame rate is a issue in co-op (switch pro/2 please) but it fine in single player. It still drops in very intense moments. My game of 2020. Just 9 more korok seeds to go๐Ÿ˜…

Re: Turrican Flashback Blasts Its Way Onto Switch In December

Amiga Turrican 2 is 1 of my favourite games ever. I am a huge fan of all the Turrican games. This collection is worth the money. Yes it's missing Super Turrican 2 (Wii vc copy still works) and c64 versions (amazing versions by the way) and it's cheaper than the 2 anthology collections. ยฃ20 at base.com. Box art is poor though.

This is fantastic for me. Yes a little expensive but such great memories of playing Turrican 1 and 2 on both my c64 and then on my Amiga. Turrican 2 on the Amiga is possibility still my favourite game ever (sorry Zelda botw). Sadly my amiga 1200 doesn't work any more. Gutted the c64 versions are not included. I have played the snes and megadrive versions as I own the vc versions. They are good but not quite as good as the Amiga versions. Collection 1 a download must. A sale on collection 2. Just need Super frog and the Alien Breed games now.

Re: Review: Minecraft Dungeons - A Simple Action RPG That Relies Too Heavily On The Minecraft Name

Currently playing this on my xbox1 and loving it. Performance issues a side its the same game gameplay wise. Yes it's a Diablo lite but to say you can't build a character is a little unjust. You can change the build of your character on the fly depending on your equipment. From tank to long range, to artifact (magic) user and all the various types in each of these and the combinations. Hidden levels and secrets. The hunt for that perfect melee weapon, bow and armor with your favourite perks is all here. If you only play through it once you are missing a lot. The 2 higher skill levels open up a lot more equipment and options on how you play. You can also choose to up the difficultly / power level on each stage so you can farm better equipment. Good game. Worth an 8 on xbox. Depending on performance you can lower it on Switch. And it's only going to get bigger and hopefully better with continued support.

My favourite console. Midnight release back playing rogue leader that night - amazing. Super monkey ball, Mario sunshine, metroid prime 1 and 2, viewful joe, thousand Island door and many more. They talk about the lack of games but you can only buy so much.
