Overall game of the year?!
And the award for Outstanding Effort in P'ing off Longtime Fans goes to...
Pokémon Sword & Shield!
Accepting the award is the surprised Pikachu cover band, The Dittos, who will now perform their top 25 hit, What'chu Talkin' About, Pika?
Super Mario 35 on the Nintendo game of the year list? Slow year if they've had to make up the numbers with a game most people haven't played yet. It's sad to see Breath of the Wild 2 or Metroid Prime 4 have been forgotten for the Most Wanted list. Probably Nintendo's fault for saying nothing of substance about them for more than a year.
Best Multiplayer game: Anima- Please close the window, someone is trying to vote Crossi- Please close the window someone is trying to view the results New Hor- Please close to window, someone is trying to close out the tab please close the window please close the window please close the window
Surely BotW2 should be in the most wanted? Perhaps there is a criteria that it hasn't hit? Perhaps not having a release window confirmed yet?
Animal Crossing will do well I expect, but overall 2020 is not one of the better years...!!
i think its interesting how Crash 4 isnt on the most wanted list.
this is an awful list of nominees. most of the games under the xbox category are multi plat. pubg is dead.tlou2 gets nominated for story telling and sword and shield is being recognized. not to mention that persona 5 royal isnt under best expansion but the sims 4 star wars is.
@Kitoro technically though persona 5 isnt an expansion. You dont need the original to play it and you cant upgrade the original either. It's really more of a director's cut style game like an improved version with added content.
@Deadeyerobbie,
Has to be Animal crossing new horizons, the games has touched so many people in a very difficult year, and imho is the best in the series, with 700 hours out in already.

How do people vote in these things? There's never a category that I've played all the nominees. Hard to say the game I've played is the best of something when I might not have played any/many of the others.
@Roibeard64 true but even then the sims 4 star wars was disliked by everyone. you can argue whether or not p5r is an expansion but the sims 4 star wars jesus christ
Does anyone actually care about the awards? I watch it after the stream skip the award parts and get straight to the announcements!
@Kitoro I'm not in any way defending that rubbish. Tbh I'd prefer atlus had not released the same game again full price though instead of am add on to original version
Well 90% same game
3D All-Stars winning best Nintendo game would be absolutely hysterical.
@Roibeard64 i believe that there are enough changes between the 2 to justify a new release. another thing to consider is that p5 is a ps3 game technically, and the ps4 version is kinda just an upscaled version. graphically the game looks much better. on top of that, finding a way to sell the royal changes as dlc wouldnt make much sense as it adds thieves den, 2 new confidants, new palace, and different gameplay elements among other things. i just dont see how they could sell that as dlc when it changes the base game so drastically. if they did sell it as dlc, there would be no reason not to buy it, making first time players pay more for the game (depending on which version they buy, the pricing for the royal upgrade and whether its the playstation hits version or not). so overall i believe that p5r deserves to be its own release. im mainly mad about the sims 4 star wars being recognized. it was awful.
I was going to say Origami King deserved a 'Best Audio' nomination, but I'm assuming it's for overall sound design, rather than just the soundtrack. Also, I don't pay too much atention to these reward shows, but I'm assuming Nintendo usually takes over the 'Best Family Game' nomination regularly.
@nocdaes
It certainly should. I'd give them the benefit of the doubt but they put Starfield on there which is completelyintangible at the moment.
Paper Mario: The Origami King was not nominated in "Best Audio"...RLY???
@videodvd Neither was Ori and the Will of the Wisps...
Hades is my GOTY
Solid indie list
