Re: Reminder: Ninjala's Open Beta Starts Today, Join In On Switch For Free

error error, no error but restarts, error error - waits on static screen, connecting error, restarts but no error - connecting, error error error - connecting, error error error ....

I've pretty much given up on Japanese developers to create anything competent that runs online. Why even do it if you're going to be that stubborn and refuse to look into other devs modern netcode?

Re: Community: Tried Super Mario Maker 2's World Maker Yet? Share Your Codes Here

A big problem with this game was when it was released. In 2018 the Switch releases were kinda...tepid, except every month was game packed with amazing 2d platformers and 2d action games. Celeste, Flinthook, Dead Cells, The Messenger, etc. Most everyone gourged themselves on fun and more importantly INNOVATIVE new 2d games. 2019 rolls around and the first 3 big releases from Nintendo are 2D style platformers. Mario U in Jan, Yoshi in March and then Mario Maker 2. Couple that with all the great collections, Mega Man, Genesis, NSO games...and by the time Mario Maker 2 came out...I just wasn't hungry for it. I could have been if it had brought something new to table, World Maker at launch, all the amiibo costumes, an additional game mode, etc. I think a lot of us, back during the WiiU, squeezed a A LOT out of the original release and this just didn't do much.

Re: Feature: How Nintendo Killed The Best Version Of Tetris

Dang69

@Coalescence "Outside of multiplayer it doesn't bring anything hugely different." Uhhh...multiplayer is a HUGE DEAL for a Tetris game. That alone makes this version superior, nevermind it having a better algorithm too. It's like comparing an imaginary version of Mario Kart that has only a single player mode to multiplayer. Almost doesn't even matter if one version looks a little better.

Re: Feature: Nihon Falcom President On Trails Of Cold Steel III And Bringing The Long-Running JRPG Series To Switch

@JaxonH I actually loved the demo, though I thought some of the story scenes were a bit long and too clustered. If you're gonna give us that much story, that early on, you really need to actually animate a bunch of it. That said, the combat system in it, how much your physical positioning matters, felt a little like a tactics games crossed with a modern RPG...really loved the potential there and it tickled my brain perfectly. Also as with YS8, sure maybe none of the character designs standout, but they all look nice and the personalities and dialog are solid and a bit above average in the charm department. This will fit the YS8 hole nicely. Really loved that game despite how headache inducing the shimmering in that one could get. The Trials of Mana demo on the other hand....I was pretty disappointed by it. Was kind of...boring. Felt a bit budgety too. I still have it preordered because I like the art direction, but I dunno. Personally can't do Bravely because I have no patience for constant random encounters. I tried with Octopath Traveller, but after 30-ish hours dropped it. Xenoblade looks great, and is preordered, but...as long as the systems aren't so numerous and dense (dense doesn't actually mean something is "deep" either) as XBC2, I think I'll dig that.

Re: Feature: Delays And Customer Communication Blackouts - What's Going On With Dispatch Games?

Dang69

@Paraka I understood exactly what you meant by here I am...but I think maybe I got your tone wrong. "And here I am"...at least in midwest US, can be like...there's a bit of sarcasm to it. To the tone. Not so much that you are being sarcastic in the facts you're giving, but sort of patronizing in a manner of "pffff everything has probs with delivery service these days, quit whining about this issue." Like, "OH AND HERE I AM having issues with this other thing, like ya'll don't have issues with said thing as well." Apologies...I THINK, lol. Yeah, you unpacked what you meant well. Sorry! But I think that other person took it that as well?

Re: Feature: Delays And Customer Communication Blackouts - What's Going On With Dispatch Games?

Dang69

@Paraka Just saying, in that initial post of yours for an example, provide context. Otherwise it comes across as you just being contrarian. I have had an issue or two with them myself, one example with late late late shipping for Bayonetta 1 and 2 in 2018, before I had Prime. "do to this a hotly requested item, there is a delay in our ability to send it to you" even though I had preordered it months prior.

Re: Feature: Delays And Customer Communication Blackouts - What's Going On With Dispatch Games?

Dang69

@Paraka you gave no context and posted one of those all too typical "weeeell myyyyy contrarian point of view has a vaguely referenced issue to back it up." People are sick of those kinds of posts in general. Literally saying nothing. Next time take 2 seconds to write, "and yet I'm having more issues with Amazon! Recently they lost my [...] and are being no great help." Literally all you have to say.

Re: Poll: Vote For Your Favourite Fire Emblem Games

Dang69

@zool Monastery doesn't detract at all from the core tactics gameplay. IN FACT, if you skip all the monastery stuff (which you can) you could actually increase the challenge of the game for yourself. You obviously based that opinion off what you heard from other like minded people online who wanted a PURE old FE game and never played it. Do yourself a favor, buy it and have an absolute blast with it.

Re: Poll: Vote For Your Favourite Fire Emblem Games

Dang69

@zool Looking back they'll see Three Houses as the game that laid the new framework of what was to come next, taking thoughful steps toward evolving the series in a way that Pokemon shrugs aside. Warts and all Three Houses is an imperfect game that strives for so much, and hits so many highs, that it is easily my fav Switch game even tho something like BotW or Odessesy has way more polish and fine tuning.

Re: Poll: Vote For Your Favourite Fire Emblem Games

Dang69

@Dezzy how is "good sales" rigging the poll? Even speaking in terms of availability most voting here are FE fans and are not the general game fan public. Anyway if "sales" rigged the polls then surely FE Heroes would be number right? FE Warriors also sold more than Valencia and that's not reflected. "Hardcore" FE fans are so toxic toward people liking the latter day releases that actually made the series permanently popular. What a ridiculous comment.

Re: Itching For 2020's First Nintendo Direct? One Super Mario Maker 2 Player Got Tired Of Waiting

Dang69

Nintendo was behind as it was (Animal Crossing was supposed to be out last year) and with the coronavirus...I don't think we get a Direct until e3. We'll get single game "Directs" if that before then. Xenoblade will have to be late June, then they announce a port for Sept (Metroid Prime), Bayonetta 3 for Oct then something else for November. I doubted Travis or BotW 2 comes out this year, but I bet they are now throwing whatever extra support they can to launch BotW in Nov and seeing if they could assist Suda so the game comes out this year for sure. Also will guess the Ps5 gets delayed to spring 2021.

Re: Video: PS4's Dreams Is Being Flooded With Awesome Super Mario Games

Dang69

@ShadJV They can be held responsible, cuz technically that's all youtube is, user generated content that Youtube is responible for because it is hosting it. Sure a lot of parody or commentary stuff can stay up (but there are rules to it), but other vids that seem to pull from IP source material too liberally can get pulled or striked.
