Re: Best Of 2020: Star Trek On Nintendo Consoles - Where Are The Great Star Trek Games?

Dang69

8 or 9 year old me asked for Star Trek: 25th Anniversary for my birthday in 91 or 92 and I played the hell out of it. It was the first game I enjoyed that wasn't a "fun" game. The story structure and missions built upon classic episodes and characters, City on the Edge of Forever, Harry Mudd, etc, all stuff I was familiar with from annual summer reruns of TOS. Really liked it, even though some parts confused the hell out of me.

Re: Crysis Remastered Update 1.6 Patch Notes - Switch Bug Fixes And A Docked Resolution Boost

Dang69

" Neat!" Only a Nintendo fan site would say a performance boost on TV "neat" when it finally maxes out past 720 - saying as such likely out of fear that the lynch mob below might get offended by talk of higher resolutions being a necessary thing. This was very much needed. Visually dense games like this NEED to try to hit those higher marks (docked) or it is visually headache inducing to parse everything out from the muddy backgrounds. Returned to the game for a moment today and found the game MUCH better to play, easier on the eyes.

Re: Nintendo Is Facing Another Class Action Lawsuit For Joy-Con Drift

@HotGoomba___Rebrand do agree that Switch Pro shape is MY FAVORITE ever controller, which makes my issues all the more bummer inducing. Hate how the dualshock feels in both shape and quality. However the longevity of it seems great, I never even took all the care with it I did the Switch Pro controllers. Dualshocks had a big issue in their first year or 2 with their stick quality (I guess the rubber would wear off super easy), but Sony actually addressed a manufacturing issue and revised them! Imagine that, lol!

Re: Nintendo Is Facing Another Class Action Lawsuit For Joy-Con Drift

@Moon not the exact problem I've had, because they all end up "sticking" "upward". It's probably the ways we push the stick differently as players that creates a different sort of wear on our sticks. But I assure anyone reading this that Pro Controller stick quality ain't great or long lasting, at least per my luck with them. I almost think the builds got worse as time went on, there where slight revisions made to them post 2017.

Re: Rumour: Resident Evil Revelations 3 Will Be A Switch "Focused" Release, Says Capcom Insider

Dang69

YES YES YES PLEASE YES BE TRUE! RE Revelations 2 is so dang good. It and RE4 are my favorite RE games, have such a perfect blend of everything I want from bits and pieces of all the games. Hope they stick with the art direction too, grim settings that don't get too horrific, with nice punctuation of color and music to keep it from being a bummer. Have wanted this for awhile. Yes I know RE2 Remake is technically a better game than RE Revelations 2...but there is an air of fun and human warmth tucked inside of it. Just adore it.

@HotGoomba___Rebrand @Donkey-Kong-Fan @Moon I've had issues with the sticks wearing out on my Pro Controllers. It's not the same as the Joycon drift though. One stick will start "rubbing" a tiny bit, then it will start giving me resistance, then it will start sticking and be unusable (usually left). After all that happens you can pull up slightly on the bad stick and it will "pop" up slightly into place. I'm on my fourth since Feb 2018 (my second started having issues after 30 days so I got a refund and a replacement so I'm not counting "5" here). My fourth Pro started doing it after an hour of spinning the stick around for NMH remaster recently (I got this controller in April this year and haven't used it all that much compared to my former Pro Controllers). I'm really careful with these, especially after the 1st one went bad, even putting them in a slip when I'm done using them and clearing out any white powder debris on the stick caused by the stick rubbing on the plastic ring, before it falls down around the base. Like insanely careful. So yes, something in the build is weird even for the Pro. I've had a Dualshock since April 2018 and had none of these issues and have played the hell out of that thing.

Re: MiHoYo Accused Of 'Carelessly Putting Players At Risk' In Genshin Impact Data Breach

Dang69

@ComposedJam I think you're misinterpreting the playfulness of how I was saying that, confusing it as an actual "directive" from me. Also I don't think that factually it is how most games are done nowadays - though I do believe most all publishers would love that to be reality. That's where my playfulness was coming in. As in "please don't believe that's the case, if you do the greedy publishers have won, as you've accepted this as a new potential reality."

Re: Feature: Best Visual Novels For Nintendo Switch

Dang69

AI Sominum is veryyyyyy good. The sections where you walk around are a much needed break from all the fixed scene stuff. Never finished the 1st Ace game...some court stuff/evidence/objection options are so weird to me, like it doesn't list the observations I've made personally that contradicts the statements being made. I get confused lol and it's embarrassing.

Re: Hands On: Hyrule Warriors: Age Of Calamity Makes You Wish You Didn't Know How It Ends

Dang69

Performance sucks here. That should be noted for anyone buying, it can hurt the eyes in FPS and low dynamic rez dips...BUT I don't think it makes it a "do not buy", more of a "buyer beware." Found the demo on Hard mode to be a lot of fun, because you actually gotta use your brain to avoid death. Annoyed I can't remap any of my buttons...not sure why that's an issue in modern software.

Re: Pikmin 3 Opening Week Physical Sales Were Lower On Switch Than Wii U (UK)

Dang69

@Bliquid Whoa - I totally felt the same way man. Thought I was an outlier. A lot of potential here...but with the game being so relatively easy (from experience and what I was told in reviews) a lot fo the game tasks would eventually start feeling like "chores" versus engaging gameplay. The art direction had charm to it, but the actual graphics looked pretty mediocre...like a budget title (even for the time it was from).
