With just 30 hours left to go before the campaign wraps up, the Kickstarter for The Wonderful 101: Remastered has crept over the $2 million line. Wowzers.
PlatinumGames has taken to social media to thank all of the backers who have made the campaign such a mighty success. Director Hideki Kamiya recently revealed that the team was "really terrified" about how the campaign would go before launch, but they really needn't have worried.
Hitting the $2 million mark also means that yet another stretch goal has been achieved, this time unlocking 'Luka's Second Mission'. This is a second slice of an all-new side-scrolling adventure that was promised when the campaign reached $1.5 million:
Luka doesn’t know that his teacher is actually Wonder-Red. And he hates the Wonderful 100 due to a certain reason, despite the fact that they’re heroes who protect the Earth. Why does he hate them? You’ll have to play the game and enjoy the story to find out!
If you haven't yet backed the project and wish to do so, now's your last chance. You can find the Kickstarter page here if you're interested.

Arrrgh! another article about this game, it’s insane! Surely time to talk about something else, please a direct Nintendo we are truly desperate!
@BrittanyLewi Wonderful Spam 101
@mesome713 Good thing you’re unneeded then.
@Sakisa I may not give a penny, but I'll give my two cents. Lol
@mesome713 Nice two cents. Here’s mine, I’m glad Platinum is doing this and doing well for themselves, and I’m happy to say I’m very much not alone in that.
@Sakisa Ofcourse your not alone, although not many, lots of people love platinum games. They just aren't very appealing to most.
@mesome713 Then I don’t know why you’d call it a ‘sad’ company. They have a solid enough audience that I wouldn’t say it’s ‘sad’.
@Sakisa That's cause your opinion differs from mine. You have to find yourself in life.
@mesome713 So you throw stones at things that lie outside your opinion? Also good to know.
@Sakisa More like, I throw feathers. They're more pretty.
Why wasn't an Xbox One port a stretch goal? If they're going to start releasing games on all platforms, they should begin to release on Xbox.
@BrittanyLewi I don't like how you used "easier" three times in the same sentence. Add the fact that it was a run-on sentence. And how does one feel "easier"? Please enlighten me.
@BrittanyLewi Wow. I never thought that the first spam comment I'd see on this website would be so... boring
@mesome713 Stones can be used for construction, there's nothing constructive about feathers or your opinions. It's just meaningless fluff.
I'll happily eat my own words if I'm wrong, but I cant help but feel like these missions are going to be half-baked.
@MsJubilee
An Xbox One port of The Wonderful 101 would sell about as many copies as the name of the game.
@MsJubilee My guess is theyre still buthurt Xbox was smart and canceled that horrible looking Scalebound game.
@mesome713 scalebound looked great. It would surely be one, if not the best, xbox one exclusive ever. Maybe the last announcement is the return of Scalebound. It would be really cool
I just backed it today. No complaints from me!
@mesome713 Considering it was Microsoft’s mismanagement that tanked it...
@mesome713 I see troll is trolling
@Skulks Yeah same. Happy to have helped them reach that 2 million goal and I am looking forward to all the content.
@mesome713 sad company? How so?
@NintendoByNature The begging of attention the company uses. Begging for money, whining Nintendo doesn't advertise enough for them and that's why their games don't sell good. They love to make excuses and play the victim. To me they are a weak company who struggles to make appealing games.
Any company that has to beg to get money or gauge appeal is a company that has no faith in the product they make. Nor do they have a clue as to who they are making games for. They also suck at marketing their games.
@quinnyboy58 I'd rather Nintendolife quit it with the articles on the weeb waifu games that no one cares about.
@mesome713 You really are touting conclusions you came to as facts without doing proper research aren't you? The mark of ignorance.
The 'begging for money?' was basically a fancy pre-order system and used to get more existing fans on board while CONTROLLING their own marketing, and hey...it's been working.
They went independent like this and reached out to the fans because they wanted more control of their destiny and not having their IP's owned. I don't remember them whining about lack of marketing from Nintendo though, they seem to have nothing but nice words for them actually.
And they do know who they make the games for, unless you want to blatantly ignore the fact that people who like action games tend to flock to them.
You strike me as someone looking for a reason to hate Platinum because they don't appeal to you.
@quinnyboy58 I think it's new enough tgat we are now getting another "game" essentially from Platinum. I would direct your comment to the Boulder Dash review as pointless posting filler.
@mesome713 I guess i can't confirm if theyre begging or not, as im not really sure. But imo their games are top notch.
And since they're self publishing some stuff, they have to do something to grab the consumers attention(kickstarter), which allot of companies do.
So i dont know. I wouldn't call them sad.. that's just me though. I love their products and have yet to play a bad game of theirs. I think they're just becoming a product of the times with marketing on Twitter etc. Same with kickstarter being a platform more companies will use.
I know that backing nets you the game cheaper but I'd rather just get it retail. Still not a fan of kickstarter.
@westman98 At a push. The camera perspective is all wrong as it’s not first person, there’s no bobbing gun, too much colour, too much humour, no blood...
@mesome713 you’re a terrible troll. I hope you get banned again soon.
@mesome713 you're the kind of person who would be blocked by Kamiya
The Wonderful 101: *exists
NintendoLife: It’s free real estate
I hope so game will cost less than 20 pounds. Totally do not understand why they collect money for it. Game is ready and already earn some money before. Just now they have over 2milion dollars plus they will earn nearly free money without any investment from them. Porting game is not so expensive on to switch like others companies mention it before. I hope so diffrent company's will not go same direction. And i hope so any one who donate some cash will receives free copy of game. Only at this option this will be fair to gamers
