Re: Week Three of the eShop Throwback Sale Goes Live in North America

@Haz Oh, you're so right! I never bring that concept up because I haven't had anyone on the internet get it before. The concept of exchange rate is to be a consideration, but prices are set based on what the seller believes the market will bear. I think that's so right. Well put.

Whether the price is less than the US counterpart or not is of no concern, because my salary is the same, but it was frustrating that my buying power never went up on these products when Canadian dollar was high, but it's plummeting down now with no end in sight.

@Joalro Explain to me the random price increase differences? Why are some digital games the same price as before, some are more and the amount more is never consistent. It just proves that the exchange reason people assume is not accurate or the increases would be consistent. It's all made up and a simple money grab. This much here, this much there.... oh is this much here. It's idiotic imo.

It's not the current price based on an exchange rate with one foreign currency which irks me it's that the price increases are random amounts and that when our dollar was worth more than this one foreign currency we never paid less.

@Haz That's not the point. For the years the CAD dollar was at parity or well above the USD the price was never less in Canada. That's one point. The other point is why is one game 10% more, but the other one %16 more? Money is made up and when it's a digital commodity there is no reason for made up price differences or more accurately what I'm saying is price increases.

This is how digital should be done. Let the scalpers, scammers and hoarders (also the odd legitimate collector), fight over the physical copy. If you can buy the digital copy for a great price, most people will not care about the physcial copy as most people actually just want to play the game!!!!!

I am one who has remained almost 100% physical with the Wii U, but if the games were a little cheaper digitally, I would not care and there's no reason why they shouldn't be cheaper. No packaging, inventory management, distribution costs etc... digital is a huge rip off at even a modest discount.

Re: Year in Development: Nyamyam

Delayed release date, extremely short, repetitive puzzles, reviews revealing the shortcomings prior to Wii U release...... all add up to poor performance. How can these people not figure it out? No one ever takes responsibility for their performance it's always someone else's fault.

Grow up, put a full effort forward AND sell something worth peoples hard earned money or quit whining and trying to deflect your short comings onto someone else. Take a look in the mirror and work on what you see rather than being a complainer.

I was going to buy this game. I didn't for many of the reasons stated above. Now, I will not support these people in the future either. I'm a consumer and the people providing the service better realize they are serving me and I'm not there to be their chump to pad their bank account.

Why are people unaware that all successful companies are constantly involved in R&D for their next EVERYTHING! Sure, they may release earlier or later dependent upon the success of the current platform, but they're not going to irrationally dump the Wii U. They're not doing as well as they'd wanted, but they also know they will be ostracizing they're most loyal fans.

They won't replace the Wii U until at earliest 2017.

@darklinkinfinite I think you're right, but hope we're both wrong!

I never got that nice statue and have been hoping for something like that for years. As far as normal rewards, I'm fine with cute little bags for grocery shopping even, but posters and cards do nothing for me.

It's sad. I don't get why they can't streamline the rewards in all zones. Some of the physical swag in Japan and the EU are pretty nice. We never get those stuffed toys. Those are fun things I'd never buy, but would like as a free loyalty reward.

I have given up though, that's why I bought a Yoshi amiibo. =(

Re: Review: Pier Solar and the Great Architects (Wii U eShop)

This review is horrible. Do not let is disuade you from enjoying a great game. Of course it isn't as polished as AAA games, but it's the first eshop title in a while that has been worth every penny, imo.

I'm nearly 20 hours in and the only complaints I have are minor, while the battle system, dialogue etc are not negatives. I agree with some of the others on this board that the reviewer should not have reviewed or didn't actually review this game.

I'm all for varying opinions, but selling yours as right and not a preference is what makes this review complete garbage imo.

@Joalro Tell me about it. I would have been buying eshop cards out the whazoo if we were getting the promo's like in the US and not to mention how we are getting gouged on the eshop price wise now with pricing 10+% higher than the US for no explicable reason as the dollar has not been that far below for years and is currently around 6%. It's the beauty of living in a country 10x's smaller than the US which no one cares about.

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo Should Beware the Slippery Slope of Sponsored DLC

To me this entire story is fluff. I care about the game and if anything, having real stores in the background adds to the realism. In today's monopolistic capitalism, there are only a handful of companies that make everything anyways, so why should Nintendo not make more money to support their future by allowing the charade of competition to enter their games?

Re: Two Separate Bayonetta 2 Retail Releases Confirmed for Europe

I am able to afford games by pre-ordering to get discounts. I pre-ordered this game in NA, because of the buy 1 get both scenario. If it turns out I only get a discount on the original, I will cancel that order and then since the order I made only gave me the discount for preordering 3 games, I will cancel the 2 more games. It may not be legitimate and I won't over react, but with the e3 video showing getting both games clearly on the box, I will feel like sloppiness has resulted in the customers like myself feeling the rules have changed.

Re: Armillo Release Date and Launch Discount Details Confirmed

@DarkCoolEdge This is something that plays a major factor on whether I buy games. When games start getting north of $5 and have 2 or 3 hours of play time, that's not enough time for me to even get good at the game and usually I find little replay value in the non Nintendo titles. I was definitely going to buy Tengami for example, until I saw it's a 2.5 hour game.

Re: Nintendo Download: 19th June (North America)

For what it's worth, the prices are US only and not North America as for the past couple months, some publishers, like Nintendo, are taking advantage of the fluctuating Canadian dollar to charge random and of course exorbitant amounts more. Part of the pleasure of living in an insignificant market.

Re: Project CARS

Are they ever going to show Wii U footage? All they talk about is the PS4, they're making a mistake and ignoring the many Wii U owners who are interested. With the lack of love directed toward the Wii U I'm already changing my focus to other games which are sure things like Hyrule Warriors, Bayonetta 1&2 and of course SSB.
