This review is harsh IMO. I'm a beginner and have no problem using and exploring how to use this app. You don't need a tutorial to figure out hwo to use pencils and erasers, you just try them out! I'd give it a must buy for anyone who likes to doodle or more.
Iwata's MiiVerse blurb just came out and states the demo will be out later today for NA, so looks like it's probably a matter of scheduled times for server updates as stated by some others.
This is one area where Nintendo needs to improve IMO. I don't understand region blocking or delays between regions, but even less things like a demo being available in one Europe, but not NA. I can see how this would annoy fans waiting for this title.
Refreshing to hear a CEO say he's not worried about only the next 2 years. This is something I very much appreciate about Nintendo. They are concerned about their legacy and long term viability and conduct themselves accordingly.
@LzQuacker NA isn't even getting as many release dates the ones we get are later than everyone else. I'm in the piddly country of Canada, but treating your largest market in the World (US) like this is bizarre. It feels like Nintendo NA is disorganized.
Social media makes everyone an "expert" these days. This article is simply a high end troll. Anyone with half an idea on R&D and product lifecycling knows Nintendo wouldn't consider this even "IF" the Wii U fails. For me, I don't care what anyone else thinks. I enjoy my Wii U and have no feelings of regret or remorse. Instead of publishing all these negativity morons and their "expert" opinions, why not publish completely made up positive stories?
This is a cool idea. I'm looking forward to being able to buy something while I'm on break at work so that it's ready when I get home, but the only games I download are so small, that it doesn't matter much. I'm going retail until there is a substantial price point difference to justify otherwise.
I guess this is more of their ways of trying to force people to get the DLC. I've already pre-ordered my retail copy on sale for the same price as the DLC, so guess I'm out.
@nickysilks I agree that the control preference is disappointing, but I think the positives of this title far outweigh how it's best controlled and who says you won't prefer to use the gamepad?
This is one of the major problems with capitalism in todays society. None of the cost savings through cutting out middle men, tax breaks or advances in manufacturing processes are passed down to the consumer. Trickle down effect does not exist.
If they release this at full price today, that's extremely illogical and signs of worrying disorganization. I'll chalk this up as I'll believe it when I see it.
@TrueWiiMaster Another great point. The only reason I bought NFS: MW and now FIFA 2013 aka 2012, is because they were 29.99 and 14.99 respectively. NFS:MW is the only worthy port I've played though... awesome game IMO.
@Melkaticox I don't think he's willing to call out the 3rd parties publicly for releasing poorly done ports which were; as you say; rushed and offering less in the majority of cases.
Just because you cannot understand why a restrictive process shouldn't be in place from your narrow minded point of view, doesn't justify it's continued implementation. I feel like I was trolled.
There is no valid excuse for it and when you're the only one in the room doing it, just maybe it's you and not everyone else. This is one area where I think NIntendo needs to adjust their way of thinking.
I'm not yet willing to lose the flexibility of a physical copy for playing on other peoples consoles, future consoles or possibly trading in in exchange for a paltry 10% discount, needing to buy an external hard drive etc. It's a step in the right direction though.
We all know 3rd party support isn't there because there isn't enough 3rd party support to create a base large enough for 3rd party support to support the Wii U. Do we really need all these stories and negativity about it?
If they had offered the 20 CN coin bonus last week, when we still have time to also get the 10 coin post play survey for this elite status year, it would have influenced my purchasing, but not now. Looks like it's going to be a long wait until Pikmin 3 with these kind of VC releases. I'm sure they have their reasons, but I am not understanding why Earthbound isn't out yet.
I've never had a Nintendo system fail, but I will only be using my onboard storage for VC and games I want which don't have a physical copy. The only way I'd consider downloading is if Nintendo discounted the titles enough to make up for having no physical copy to potentially trade in or play on other systems.
I hear what you're saying, but there's no need to insult people by suggesting they don't like REAL games. When I took more time to play games I played mostly on the PC. I never bought an N64 or Gamecube. When I read the complainers posts in regards to the Wii U it makes me think that those people need to be more careful about what they buy and ensure it meets their expectations based on facts and not hopes, promises or dreams. The only game I'm looking forward to for somewhat serious gaming on my Wii U is X. Other than that, I want exactly the kind of stuff Nintendo is delivering and I am very happy with my Wii U.
I find the multiplayer better in this than in Nintendo Land. It's a different game so some will like it more and some less. I like it more than I thought it would and am very glad I picked up this title. After Wii Party U and Wii Fit U, here's to hoping sports resort is next year!

Re: Nintendo Unleashes an Awesome Sizzle Reel of Upcoming Wii U eShop Titles
@C-Olimar I don't know about that argument, Nintendo of Japan seems pretty organized.

Re: Nintendo Download: 1st August (North America)
Pikmin 3 is in the mail.... hopefully in time for the weekend!
Re: Pikmin Keyrings Arrive as Club Nintendo Europe Rewards
@element187 Seriously, I'm not interested in anything on our rewards site. Oh well, patience is a virtue... they say.

Re: New Super Luigi U Competition Opens On Miiverse
@JumpnShootMan No problem, the deal was in Canada, that's probably why you missed it.
Re: New Super Luigi U Competition Opens On Miiverse
@JumpnShootMan It was during an e3 sale, not offered any longer.

Re: Pikmin 3 Shifts Slightly More Copies Than The Original in First Week in Japan
@element187 I pre-ordered during e3 for $39. I am hoping it will arrive early like some pre-orders do!
Re: Pikmin 3 Shifts Slightly More Copies Than The Original in First Week in Japan
I'm not here to crunch numbers, I'm hear to play games and will be playing this game on Aug 4th!

Re: Nintendo Download: 11th July (North America)
All you have to do is go to the promo page, DK is the last .30 title, but not scheduled until 15 Jul:

This is a good point, but he fails to mention for obvious reasons, many were poor ports worse than the original releases.

@wober2 I second that and continue to salivate thinking about X.

Re: Nintendo To Focus On Struggling Markets In The Short-Term
All they need to do is release a couple of VC's like maybe Earthbound.... It's not that hard. I don't think?
Re: Nintendo Download: 4th July (North America)
@waluigifan1 I didn't see that. Just checked and still don't.
I was hoping they would release Earthbound or something major before Pikmin 3, but fear they're giving us dribble to keep us focused on Pikmin 3.

@SmaMan YES! Check out their VC website:

@KillerGBH Don't forget FFVI, Secret of Mana this week and Shin Megami Tensei next week. It's hard not to be jealous.
