Re: Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster Series Launches On Switch Later This Month

CromAstronomy

@theModestMouse I think them looking the same is the point, they just redid the pixel work so it would look better on modern televisions. For myself these games were the most important games of my childhood and mean something very special to me, also this is the only way I can play these easily for a lot of the titles on here. The original pixel artist came back to do the new work as well so with that coupled with the new score and quality of life features I think a lot of love and care went into this and the price is fair. If this consideration for important games of the past is going to be a trend in the future I say yes please. At least its not full of micro transactions and nft nonsense.

Re: Review: EarthBound - A Quirky, Cosmic Adventure Bound To Warm Your Heart

CromAstronomy

@Crono1973 regardless of if you think a game is overrated or underrated in the end games are like art and very subjective. If you like a game fine, that's great and the correct view for you if you don't that's fine also, but to criticize others for liking a game you don't is an immature argument. In the end we all have opinions and that's ok. Btw I also love all the SNES Final Fantasy games and Chrono Trigger but I also love Earthbound, they are just different experiences.

Re: Amazingly, Zelda: Ocarina Of Time Is Nintendo's Only UK Christmas Number 1 Since 1984

CromAstronomy

@Maxz I guess I'm just easy to please but I really like all the Zelda games for the most part. I see the validity in both arguments around BOTW and in a perfect world my ideal Zelda is a mashup of old and new. I want the size and scope of BOTW but with the focus of traditional Zelda with major dungeons and more traditional music. Who knows what we will actually get considering it's Nintendo. At any rate people should just like and appreciate the ones they like and let everyone else do the same. 😊

Re: Video: The Best RPG Ever Made Still Isn't On Switch

CromAstronomy

I remember as a kid just obsessing over the Nintendo Power articles and screen shots of Chrono Trigger before it came out and being incredibly excited, and then when I finally got it I knew it was something special. It's been a long time since I have gotten that engrossed in a game and loved it so much.

Re: Feature: A Link To The Past's Dark World Changed Zelda Forever

CromAstronomy

@Ralizah I really love the first Zelda, I played it when it originally came out and I'm actually replaying it right now on the Game and Watch, it is very obtuse but unlike some NES games it's doable without a guide, so long as one is patient. I miss the days of games dropping you into a world and letting you completely figure it out without quest markers or hand holding. Breath of the Wild was defiantly a step in the right direction.

Re: Metroid Dread Studio Hit With Allegations Of Poor Organisation And Management

CromAstronomy

A lot of people on here are saying "why did they only speak up now?" Well more than likely they have already spoke out but we are only hearing about it again because a major game associated with the company is out, otherwise it wouldn't make news. I do tend to think based on several past incidents that Mercury Steam is a terrible company. Very unfortunate bc they obviously have talented people.

Re: Talking Point: What's Your Switch Game Of 2021 So Far?

CromAstronomy

For me it's Atelier Ryza 2. Love the gameplay loop of story exposition then exploration then crafting. The characters were very likable and it was a very chill relaxing RPG, I spent a lot of time just walking around gathering resources then going back and crafting, kinda like advance Animal Crossing with an actual story.

Re: Just 10 Days Since Launch, Zelda: Skyward Sword HD Is Already Amazon's Third Best-Seller Of 2021

CromAstronomy

@jowe_gw the original came out very late in the Wii's lifecycle and I think the biggest legitimate reason is the fact that standard definition gaming was on the way out when SS released, most people had already migrated to the HD systems of the day. Now with it being on a current system I think its just getting better exposure. And I'm sure BOTW helps the sales of all Zelda games regardless.

Re: Nintendo Expands Its Switch Online SNES Service With Three More Titles

CromAstronomy

These Switch online games make me sad, there are the really good 1st party Nintendo ones on there but the rest is mostly garbage that none of us played back in the day. If you are a younger gamer please know this service is not very representative of what we actually played back then and the 16bit era was amazing, if only they would give us the games that showcase that.

Re: Valve's Steam Deck Hopes To Avoid Switch's Joy-Con Drift Issues

CromAstronomy

@Thatsalie Best is subjective, power wise yes absolutely the Deck is better but Nintendo fans don't buy systems for power we buy them for Nintendo specific IPs which as software are second to none. If you qualify best by consumer sales and reception the Deck is unlikely to dethrone Switch. In the end just buy and play what makes you happy and that's "best" for you.
