This is going to be my first Metroid game, so very glad it's being seen as one of the best ones!

Everyone should own this game, regardless of platform. I'd dare say it's a better platformer than any Mario game to date.

So, there's no way of taking screenshots on 3DS after it's gone?

I wonder if it fixes all the bugs that you need mods to fix currently?

So it's just a box?.... Nothing else?

@LegacySmikey Probably to cheapen production, since it has 4 different platforms to make collectors editions for, it would make sense to just print different codes and console logos.

Gamestop do a really nice steelbook edition for PC, if you're after a pretty shelf piece.

I'd imagine porting World to Switch would be a lot of effort considering how different the architecture is compared to the other three which are all using higher-spec'd x86 hardware.

Wow, I expected better from Fangamer. I've bought tons of stuff from them and it's all been fantastic.

I like the idea, but... I got an Isabelle figure but I don't really think it's that great. Her feet are buried 3 inches into the stand, her pose makes her look like she's about to fall over forwards and her muzzle is the wrong colour.

Picked up Zen Pinball since I had 80 coins I'd otherwise have never used. Not sure if I'll ever get the chance to play it but, I shan't complain about free stuff!

I really like the design, but I'm not sure if it's worth selling my N3DSXL for since it's technically an inferior model. But I don't use the 3D anyway and the lighter and slimmer package appeals to me. So yeah, not sure... If it had a brighter screen and better battery life then it'd be an instant buy, but looking at the hands-on previews, it doesn't appear to improve upon much... It does make me yearn for a totally new console in the DS form-factor, though.

I picked this up in a Humble Bundle for a dollar last year on PC. Would say 6 or maybe 7 is a fair score. It's really slow-going at the start though, it got better once the puzzles got more difficult and you had more equipment to play with. I think most people would come away satisfied but for the full $15 there's just so many better games you could get.

I would have preferred Puyo 20th Anniversary, but Tetris is fun too. I hope they release more Puyo games outside of Japan in future.

Doesn't matter whether Nintendo considers it a defect or not, you can always return it within a set period of time for any reason you want.

I'm aware of at least two physical editions of this that already exist, one of which you can get from Gamestop.

If it's delayed while they implement a "buy once, play anywhere" system, that'll definitely make me more eager to buy one.

Regardless of price, it's only worth paying for if you're actually going to use it. I used to pay for Netflix because I thought it was a good deal and I barely made use of it, so we'll have to wait for the full details I suppose.
If I need to pay to play online multiplayer, then I won't bother because I would just use the PC for those games. If I need to pay to chat with people I probably still wouldn't bother because locking that sort of thing behind a fee is rather scummy.

The 3DS is a great system as it is, the only things it really needs are higher-res displays that drop the 3D gimmick.
I could mention the specs but that's already a given.
A DS with a top 1280x720 display and a bottom 640x480 display would be an instant buy for me.

When it comes to Steam shovelware, it's never appropriate to call it a "tribute".

Current plan is to see if it's worth selling or just return it. My finances are not favourable right now and there's really only one game I would want to play on it anyway.

Whitehead's Sonic CD port was absolutely perfect in every sense of the word. I'm very excited for this one! Still debating which platform and edition to get...

I thought Pirate's Curse was better. The whole transformation mechanic really breaks the pacing, especially now there are so many. Pirate's Curse simply matched her skills to different buttons which is objectively a better way to do it. I'm hoping it will be this way when they add Risky as a playable character to Half-Genie Hero.

I'd give this an 8, the platforming is solid but boring. Shantae moves at a set speed and the only additional acrobatics she can perform are a useless backwards dash (at least without transforming). But at least it looks good, sounds good and has a lot of truly hilarious dialogue.

I've had it on PS3 for a while, would totally buy again.

So at this point, I am considering giving up on the Switch because of the spiralling costs and being more console-focused than portable. I'll probably wait until Amazon UK ship it to me and see if I like it, fortunately I can return it within 14 days if I don't feel it's worth the money (or sell it on eBay if the money's good).

There's absolutely no reason why VC games shouldn't be given for free if there's a record of purchase on your Nintendo account in the past. Or maybe I'm just spoiled with the level of legacy support Windows provides.

They really nailed it with the gameplay footage and trailers I think, enough so to "win E3". Nice lack of "cinematic" trailers. I would have liked to see more details of the bundled software and features, I think I left with more questions than answers.

Thrilled that Puyo Puyo Tetris is finally getting an English release.

It's going to be an uphill struggle trying to sell a new console with inferior specs to already well-established consoles at a HIGHER price. They should have marketed this as a portable that you can connect to the TV, it might have stopped people drawing direct comparisons to the competition.

@Grandpa_Pixel Surely you backed at that amount for the swag and not just the game? Unless you had buyers remorse and were looking for an excuse to get your coin back.

@ottospooky It'll be being built on PC, as most games are. All the beta's and demo's so far have been exclusive to PC (Win/Mac/Linux). Likely the Wii U version would be built differently from the other platforms because it'd need significantly more optimisations to run properly on the weaker hardware (thus the part about it being built from the ground up). That additional workload might have been the reason for its cancellation.

@LemonSlice £9.99 good? £9.99 can go a long way for buying a game.

Hoping these get released so we can start dissecting them to see what other secrets they might hold.

If you're a PC gaming veteran, you'd know to avoid games with titles like that. Steam gets several games like this added every week.

Luigi's Mansion and Sunshine? Yes please!
Animal Crossing, not so much. Each Animal Crossing game adds more stuff, making this old one kind of redundant. I'd rather play Wild World than the Gamecube one, or better yet a new Animal Crossing designed natively for Switch.
Same argument for Melee, except bla bla bla eSports.

Having two different operating modes isn't necessarily a good thing. Like how the 3DS has 3D on and 3D off. You end up essentially giving developers the extra overhead of making sure both set ups work and whether or not to take advantage of the extra performance being docked gives.
I would hope this extra performance impacts things like home menu responsiveness and not actual in-game performance. I wouldn't want my framerate tanking when I undock just because the game was optimised for docked mode.

You can literally buy cartridges from retailers that exploit security flaws in the 3DS, maybe they should start there instead?

I see it as more of a portable than a home system. The only component that makes it a "home system" is the HDMI dock. I would hope they implement the usual portable ensemble like Streetpass and local wireless play.
Marketing it as a home console puts it in direct competition with, lets face it, stronger and more established rivals.

Yay, nothing interesting! I can waste more money on Badge Arcade instead.
