@PhhhCough no, youre completely wrong. downloading a rom is always illegal, even if you own the original cartridge/disc. youd have to make your own backup and even that is a legal gray area at best (because then youd still have to take into account the circumvention of security measures, copy protections, different national or local laws, etc)
