Re: Shigeru Miyamoto Defends Star Fox Zero's Controls

Boxmonkey

The point that Nintendo seem to miss these days is that if you try the game in a shop or at a friends on house you are very unlikely to purchase the game because of the controls. Nintendo try to reinvent game controls when there really is no need. They perfected gaming control on the N64.

Re: Nintendo UK Planning Massive Marketing Push For Splatoon

"It's a really interesting game for us because it allows us to expand out to a group of people who may never have considered Wii U before" Ads on cartoon network isn't reaching out to people who may have never considered a wii u before!!!

I don't think this game will be a system seller, this game will chart at about no.5 and be gone from the top 20 within 2 weeks

Re: Editorial: Nintendo's Problems With Trends and Modern Media Continue to Damage Its Image

Boxmonkey

Websites that people visit to watch games are only getting bigger and bigger. Twitch is fast becoming massive, with thousands of people tuning in to watch someone else play through a game. Nintendo are so far detached from most of the gaming world it's scary. I personaly believe things will only change when Iwata is removed and Nintedo realise that it's not their console's that are the problem. The people running the company are the problem.

Re: Talking Point: The Legend of Zelda on Wii U May Benefit From a Delay, But It Leaves a Blockbuster-Sized Gap

Boxmonkey

Very true the NX could be anything but anyone sitting on the fence about the wii u will be much more likely to give it a miss if they believe a new home console is on the horizon.

Nintendo's message is very confused these days and that's been the problem form day one with the wii u.

Maybe I'm just expecting to much form nintendo I've been a day one buyer from back in the early 90's. Nintendo used to push boundaries with the game they released on new consoles, these days they don't seem very capable at creating something truly breath taking. Four years into the wii u's life for the type of game nintendo should be making in year one of a new system.

Re: Talking Point: The Legend of Zelda on Wii U May Benefit From a Delay, But It Leaves a Blockbuster-Sized Gap

Boxmonkey

The major concern with the delay for me is the fact that if it's not being shown at E3 this year you can bet it will be shown at E3 2016. We will also get our first look at the NX that same E3 which will immediately put off anyone buying a wii u. Essentially Nintendo seem to have killed any momentum and any chance the wii u had to succeed.

Nintendo haven't really pushed their own hardware and made a truly groundbreaking experiance on the wii u to date and now it looks like the one game that could do that will come at the end of the consoles life. Not good enough for me.

Re: The Legend of Zelda for Wii U No Longer Set for 2015 Release

Boxmonkey

I can't believe all the comments on here defending nintendo! They have had many years of planning and preparation to make this game. They have completely double chocolate chip cookie up any chance the wii u ever had with stupid planning and decision making. I for one will give the next nintendo console a wide birth and if god forbid they don't release zelda on the wii u I will never buy another nintendo product.

It's almost laughable how bad nintendo have been this generation.

Re: The Legend of Zelda for Wii U No Longer Set for 2015 Release

Boxmonkey

Gutted it won't be released this year! But I'm massively angry that this game won't be released until the forth year of the wii u. They showed a tech swim of a zelda game to show off the wii u and now we have to wait many more years than I expected to get a new zelda.

It's very disturbing that the game won't be shown at E3! It sound like it could be delayed until at least the end of 2016, otherwise they would have move to show.

Re: Iwata: Nintendo NX Will Surprise People And Change Their Video Gaming Lives

Boxmonkey

If the NX is another console with a new control system that in anyway feels like a gimmic I won't be buying it. I would imagine by reading the comments section on this site since the news of the new system was announced many others will join me in leaving Nintendo. Could be a great move from nintendo or a complete disaster, only time will tell.

Re: Nintendo NX Will Be About Creating "Fun New Ways To Play"

Boxmonkey

People are talking crap when it comes to third party games! Nintendo always had many third party games am they always sold well. This changed with the wii because it was underpowered so the aaa games couldn't get a port. With the wii u third party games didn't sell because they were largely bad ports of old games or low quality.
If nintendo release the correct console with a controller system that people know how to program for I'm sure third parties would come flooding back to nintendo.

But what's more likely now is nintendo continuing down this road of "go it alone" which will just result in them losing more of their loyal customers, without pulling new gamers into nintendo. I fear for the company because they seem to make one stupid mistake after another.

Re: Nintendo NX Will Be About Creating "Fun New Ways To Play"

Boxmonkey

Nintendo going their own way again! That just means no third party support and a bleak future for Nintendo in the console market.

Just give us a powerfull Nintendo console that has the right architecture for easy ports. That way we can enjoy big N games and the GTA's of the world.

For the first time since the Snes I won't be buying the next console day 1, I'll take a very weary approach. No third party = no purchase from me.

Re: Review: Mario Party 10 (Wii U)

Nintendo madness is the only reason I can think off as to why this game isn't online. I would have bought this game but I'm
Not paying £40 to play this game once withy wife.

Re: Nintendo Download: 12th March (Europe)

Boxmonkey

@Chicagoway I've supported Nintendo since the early 90's and I've never been so disappointed with a console! The first party games have been great but if things don't change massively with the next console nintendo will be in real trouble. I shouldn't have to spend £350 on a PS4 just to play a couple of third party games.

Re: Nintendo Download: 12th March (Europe)

Remember when Nintendo said that N64 games would be on the VC? Nintendo have let every fan down with this console so far! It's underwhelming in every aspect. Roll on Zelda U so I can finally trade it in and never buy nintendo again.
