Re: 'Cycle Across Kanto' Aims To Document The Real-Life World Of Pokémon

I would like to take my family to Disneyland. Perhaps I can dress it up as a project exploring the evolution of the Disney brand from the era of Castle of Illusion to present. I'll be Director, my son can be DP (Director of Photography), he's pretty handy with an iPhone, my daughter can present, she loves to talk 😩 and my wife will be Producer (snacks/refreshments, ride itinaries etc..,
).

Perhaps the wishful souls involved in this particular escapade should fund their own trip to Japan, take a sabaticle or something from their real job, then if they manage to produce something interesting people may be compelled to watch. If they can't afford to do it, kinda tough, thems the breaks, not all of us can globetrot with a camera in the name of art and story telling. We kind of have to make do with 'regular' jobs where we fend for ourselves and not sponge/put on other people to pursue our dream adventures/jobs.

I've personally been interested in 'Videography' (not the giddy heights of 'cinematography') as a hobby since 2006, does that mean I have 11 yrs experience?

Rant over.

P.S I'm not investing, I will use the money to take my family to Disneyland instead 😉

Re: Switch Developers Will Soon Be Able To Use IKinema Animation Tools To Make Better Games

@Bolt_Strike

I don't know anything about this 'middleware', but reading the article x2 quotes state:

"In-game characters move and react naturally and instinctively when interacting with dynamically changing environments and objects"

"they too can create games with life and realism, enabling their players to enjoy advanced interaction and memorable gaming"

I guess by creating something more believeable, as a player, you will become more immersed in the experience, therefore enchancing the gameplay, perhaps. As for innovation, I don't know much about this, but if the physics are more improved, perhaps it allows for finer control of elements, which may allow for innovation. "Outsiders looking in" ultimately the developers have to use the tools they have, along with a good amount of imagination and creativity to create something we may find compelling and/or innovative.

Just saw your second reply. Didn't realise it was available at that price on Amazon. As you said most Nintendo games seem pretty constant in price. But this release is all over the place.

I don't know much about 2K, but I've already pigeon holed them with EA based on this brief exposure.

I'm just venting frustration, that's all.

Just did a quick Google, seems £44 for physical copy is easily achieveable from a large supermarket chain.

This is no dig at you, but I'm perturbed by the whole dlc at launch thing. Again it smacks of greed and/or selling a basic/inferior version of the game, only to say it'll be better if you throw more money at it.

I'm old (36) and grew up playing NES, SNES, Mega Drive etc..,. When you bought those games, you kind of bought the whole game, I've not adapted well to this 'keep throwing money at a dead duck' scenario.

Don't get me wrong, it's great when the longevity of a game is extended down the line through expansion, with further, enriching experiences (as we're seeing with Splatoon 2, ARMS, Zelda et al), but asking people to fork out money, at launch, kind of reeks of conmen. Next thing you know they'll be asking to invest in a 'Pyramid Scheme'

No interest in this game. But I'm confused why has someone paid £80 for this game when someone else has stated the physical release will be £35 next week. What's going on with pricing. Also NL list the game at £55. Admittedly not a fan, but who is paying this kind of money for a game like this. Greedy licensed games.

By the way, if I ordered a meal at a restaurant and it was only part cooked/complete, and the establishment suggested I would get what I actually paid for at some point in the near future, I'd (kindly) tell them where to go.

Try to remain informed, and vote with your wallets, if developers wish to continue making money then they can adapt to provide the service we're paying for. Rant over
