For those that like shooting things the Switch is, slowly and surely, offering some solid options. We already have DOOM and others, with Morphies Law also due relatively soon. Another game hoping to fill the gap in early 2018 is PolyGod by Krafted Games.
Though in some ways it's sporting a basic look, it has a clear style and focus on colourful, fast-paced shooting. It'll have online multiplayer and co-op, among other things - check out the trailer and some PR details below.
Boutique, indie studio ‘Krafted Games’ today announced their minimalist, rogue-like, randomly generated, first person shooter, POLYGOD which features a brutal difficulty curve, epic boss fights with arena-shooter style online multiplayer/co-op, will launch worldwide for Xbox One, PC Steam and Nintendo Switch in early 2018 for £16.19 / $14.99 / €16.59
It looks quite interesting to us - let us know what you think in the comments.

"£16.19 / $14.99 / €16.59"
What? These are conversion rates from Apple!
This looks awesome!
Looks promising, but experience suggests basic graphics are often accompanied by basic/ropey controls/gameplay.
Ehh...If it’s online multiplayer is good, I might look into it.
Looks a little under developed. Perhaps someones college project just got added to the eShop or something.
I know variety is great, but quality over quantity has to reign.
@NewAdvent "and does the player have a gun in their chest?"
Judging by the character movement I think we're playing as a Dalek.
@Rhaoulos £16.19 / $14.99 / €16.59
I noticed that too, some weird prices there.
Looks nice!
Lacking that 'je ne sais pas'.
I just bought a PS4, and I am overwelmed about how much games Sony just gives away compared to Nintendo. Budget titles everywhere. Here download two Wolfenstein games for €5 each. Here, Killzone for €10. Not enough? Here are 5 free games this month because you have PSN plus. Here, some more stuff. Some demo's. Here try out this BETA and full trial.
And then I boot up my Switch and I only see expensive hideous indie games. This looks terrible. The bar gets lowered every time. This looks worse than FPS games from 20 years ago. There is no excuse for that. And the gameplay looks even worse.
@BigKing Once Switch has 60 million install base and has been on the market for 4 years, I reckon we will see something similar lol. It's not even a year old! So don't make out all those goodies were on PS4 in it's first year
Ha! For once they get the pound and euro conversion close. I might pick it up if reviews a good.
@BigKing 'This looks worse than FPS games from 20 years ago'
Seriously??? Point me to these amazing games you speak of from 1997 on n64, PS1 and Saturn please. Sure, even pc will do.
This could be one of those simple looking games that turns out to be fun. The god aspect and weapon concept is intriguing. I'll be checking out the reviews for this one.
To be fair, first-person shooting is the furthest thing from my mind when I think "classic gameplay vibe".
This looks terrible to me
This looks really cheap. Probably the next low-quality game for the Switch.
The only surprise here is that it's actually not a mobile port for a change.
I love the art style, this looks fun.
@BigKing And I can buy new games on PC considerably cheaper than PS4 (or any console) on release day, or any day thereafter, and they'll look and play better. But I can't take a PS4 or PC to work and play Doom in my lunch hour.
Clearly, Switch fulfills a different purpose, and I get plenty of bang for my buck.
I'm in the camp that thinks this will be a fun game. I always preferred arena styled shooters (Serious Sam for instance) over the mazelike ones (classic Doom, Duke Nukem) so this looks like it would satisfy that niche for me. Kind of looks like Lovely Planet but less frustrating.
I already have 4 roguelikes on my Switch. I love them. If it's good, I love FPS roguelites, too. Can't wait!
Randomly generated levels? I prefer my levels to be designed
@readyletsgo Duke 3D looks better than this. Not technically more advanced, but the art design is waaaaaaaaaaay better. Better looking enemies, better looking levels, better everything.
@GrailUK Apparently you did get a whole bunch of free goodies the first year after the PS4 launch if you had PSN Plus. https://www.finder.com.au/gaming/complete-list-of-playstation-plus-free-games
I read that Nintendo wants to launch the paid online service with free games like NES Balloon Fight and Dr Mario lol.
I love a good arena shooter, and procedurally generated at that. That could be a blessing or a curse though, but if it turns out feeling enough like Unreal Tournament on my Switch, I will gladly fork over $15.
