I think they are just waiting for the right moment to officially announce the next hardware which is after the big games have been released. Perhaps some games, Zelda for one, could see an upgraded version that could get us buying twice if we want the better version. Whenever the next hardware launches, it won't kill off the games from the Switch so of course the Switch won't be dead for another good while yet.
The price matches what we have paid for BoTW when it increased in Europe. I'm just glad Nintendo didn't follow the PS5 footsteps and raised Europes price again.
It was good but filled with a lot of stuff I won't play. My favourite part was the Gameboy stuff. But I was a bit disappointed to see no main Pokemon. Glad it has Zelda though!
Wasn't a lot there that I'm interested in. Zelda trailer looked amazing but one thing I learnt from BoTW is that the game didn't feel anywhere as good to play as what the trailers made it look to be
Since i didn't enjoy BoTW as much as I would have liked, nor finished the story, this would be a first time I would turn a Zelda game down. I would buy it if it's more like OOT and less like BoTW but since it's a sequel, it won't change too much. Will wait and see what they have to show us but as soon as I see breaking weapons then I'm out.
If they go through the increase and my order ends up getting cancelled then I'm happy enough not buying it if it brings back the breaking weapons. Had a pre-order in just incase I decided to go for it until we see more for it and I was worried of an increase.
If other games follow it then I guess i'm going to buy a whole lot less Nintendo games. Maybe just stick with Pokemon, Zelda and Mario then skip everything else.
I'd like no breakable weapons, story driven game with plenty of cut-scenes and proper dungeons.
But I'm expecting it actually end up being very much the same as BoTW with tweaks. Only time we will see a proper change is when they do a completely new game that wouldn't be a sequel.
I see a lot of people liking weapon breaking as a reason for exploring and that's perfectly fine but personally that just feels wrong to me. So I'd like to suggest some ideas what could make exploring fun without needing to search for weapons. Searching for that next weapon makes it more of easter egg hunt and less about the exploring itself. If you're not enjoying the exploring for the exploring then there is something wrong with it.
Exploring should be fun and exciting. Taking in the scenry developers created and seeing new things. Find different treasure in the chest. Search for all Korok Seeds and maybe spend those to get house items to feel rewarding and worth doing. By the time you get all seeds your house would be maxed up. Add a lot of fun side missions that involve travelling around in search for something or beat new bosses. Discover puzzles/answers on walls that lead you to treasure and those chest can give you a better sense of accomplishment for putting in the effort to find it. There needs to be more and different enemies to discover in different parts of the map to make it exciting too. They could add some hidden dungeons, some with easter eggs of past games hidden away inside. Could add unique weapons or colour paints for weapons/armour in chest too and give players the choice to replace their current one, leave it or send it back to the house.
Point is, there is a lot they can add to make exploring fun rather than just running around looking for the next weapon. The open world needs a bit more going on to keep it exciting. Since people are divided between breaking and non-breaking, maybe the best option is to let players toggle it on and off to how we want it.
No more breaking weapons and no more charging times. That was a big deal breaker for the first game. It was one of the few reasons that made me favour Horizon Zero Dawn instead which led to me abandong BOTW as I moved on.
I get that people like to try out new weapons and all but there is no reason why they can't have enough slots for each weapon and let people pick favourites of that weapon (different shapes, sizes and elements) to put into that slot. Or go the upgrade way, and the more we use a weapon, the more powerful they become.
Durability shouldn't be a reason to encourage exploration. If the world is exciting, then the exploring is more fun than looking for the next weapon. Assassin's Creed Origins world was so good and exciting that I explored the whole map forgetting to do the missions and that's how exploring should be.
Personally I don't think Zelda will shift many hardware out of the ordinary as most Zelda fans would already have a Switch but some might jump straight into the sequel or re-buy a switch. And others will buy the limited edition (if there is one). Pikmin might sell more if they aim it towards new younger gamers.
Personally I think the boost is to get as many Switches made now before they slow down and go full power with the production on the next hardware and not having to worry about the current Switch running out or taking up much time and effort later on.
For the price drops, I'd say we already had one without an announcement. As we know Sony put the price up on PS5 and I'd say it won't be long MS doing the same. Perhaps Nintendo did it differently, instead of dropping the price and then putting it back up, they just left it be.
I'd say it will be another hybrid with a new controller. I'd really like to see them making the docked mode to be more powerful to be treated more like a home console. Make the new handheld powerful enough to use it's full potential when it's docked and them limited when it's in handheld
Just had another thought but maybe they could do a home console and a handheld. Both running the Switch cartridge and if we have the online sub, then our saves could sync between both devices
Not a fan of fish but I do like the idea of wanting to expore under the sea more. Would be nice that we can only bring a team of sea creatures under water with us but not all water Pokemon should go under water for long if it's more of an above the sea Pokemon. Make fishes, Sharpedo and Finizen strong under sea swimmers. Lapras a good fast above sea one.
I always have water and a bird in my team but fish is never one of them.
Such an incredible trailer that puts me in the mood to play. It also makes the game look like there's so much potential for it to have a great story. Unfortuanlly I found playng the game to be a different experience
The cutscenes were my favourite part but the game did feel like it was made for exploring rather than the story. The open world is what kept the game from having an enjoyable story. Bit like Assassin's Creeds recent games, too much exploring before we make progress on the story. Take too long in between and it feels slow. While I could just follow the main story, I'd be missing out on a lot of other things such as getting the master sword, etc. Would love the game more if it was story first then exploring.
Physical for me. Love having a collection I can look at and it saves me a lot of time with installing the games. That is if the disc has the game on it anyway. For PS4&5 it's nice to get the digital versions through PS+ so I can put my disc version away. On the Switch I mostly play Pokemon so I don't need to swap the cartridge often. Only time I change the cartridge is when I get a new game and when it's finished, Pokemon goes back in.
I'm hoping to finish BoTW first. Been on and off it a lot. The weapons breaking, lack of option to play linear or a recommend guideway, missing dungeon system and the weather are the main things I didn't like about it much. I did enjoy the game more each time i returned, just not enough to fully see it through to the end. Not sure if this sequel will really be for me but I can't help myself due to how much I love all the past games, especially OOT which is my personal favourite and TP second in line.
I think it will be announced later this year or early next year and releases near the end of next year with a better more upgraded version of Zelda. First milk us with the release first out of hype then release a better version made for the Switch 2
Started with Red. Looking at the picture shows how funny my purchases have been over those generations. Most of the games i buy are the ones on the left, apart from X and Y which I went for Y and now going to be Violet for my second on the right.
I never nickname mine and never will. When I finish the game, I always move onto another game but I always come back. And when I do, I forget a lot of things including names or where I stored them. So giving them nicknames means I would have a harder time finding what I'm looking. Leaving it be also helps to remember their real names
I'm more in favour of Violet. There's more things I like about that one than Scarlet but Scarlet has the better looking legendary and the picture of the app on the Switch looks nicer too. I'm just going to stick with Violet.
That Scarlet picture at the top looks so awesome. Can't say the same for the Violet one.
Hit and Run is my all time favourite. Not just for a Simpsons game but one of my favourite games ever along with Super Mario World and Zelda OoT.
The Simpsons Game from EA was fun too and I'm surprised we haven't seen any port of it on modern consoles. I know it wouldn't be considered a great game by many but I enjoyed it more than most of the others in the list and I'd rather have it on modern consoles than to never see it again.
If we were to get a new game, it would need to be a Hit and Run sequel
I could get used to it but he sounds better fitted for being a Smurf. I guess he wasn't wrong when he said it was going to be "unlike anything you've heard in the Mario world" as that did not sound like a Mario.
I'm not fond of consoles getting a Pro model. For PS4 there was a time I thought it was great but when looking back at it now, I think it would have been better for Sony to have either made the Pro in the first place or left it be with the original model. Pro models means that the original model will start to struggle later down the road.
Personally I think it's better to make a brand new hardware like a Switch 2 that can play all of Switch games. But has games of it's own that someday won't be able to run on the original Switch. The original Switch would always be around and seen as the main console of that generation rather than become the console that struggled to keep up with a new model.
For a Switch 2 I'd expect Nintendo to change it up so it's different with a unique controller of it's own without losing the hybrid.
On one hand caling it tears of the kingdom sounds like it will be very sad to see what will happen to the kingdom. On the other hand I think maybe the same kingdom from different times gets ripped apart and enters that one. Pretty smart move calling the game Tears of the kingdom cos it could go any way.
I want to see a collection of Zelda games containing Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask and Twilight Princess. May aswell throw Wind Waker in too so it's not left out even though it's not for me or split it into two seperate games
I know OoT is already on the online app but I'd like to have a physical copy to keep.
Wishful thinking but I'd love to see the first Luigi's Mansion brought over to the Switch. The 3DS didn't feel the same as the GameCube and I love the spooky atmosphere which made it my favourite. Good time for a surprise reveal before halloween arrives.
Not expecting any of this to happen but that's what I'd love to see
@KingBowser They all want the news coverage to be around their games with excitement at the highest level. So when something big happens somewhere in the world, gaming news have been delayed at least a week or two to avoid distractions and it's being respectful. Happened multiple times this year. A delayed direct doesn't mean a delay for the games so don't worry
Would love a trio collection of Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask and Twilight Princess. Just for the sake of not leaving it out, throw Wind Waker in there too even though it's one i'm not fond of or split it into two collections even.
Is there difficulty trying to get a remaster for Ty 3 due to Activision being the original publisher for that one? I'd really like to play the third before starting the forth
I think I might give this game a miss this time. Really loved Splatoon on the Wii U and then I couldn't reisist the sequel for the Switch. But I found myself dropping it very quickly and played it the exact same way as I played the first game. I think if I was to buy this one, I'd only end up doing that all over again. I'm trying to cut down on my spending too so I just don't see myself throwing money at it this time.
The Tricolor Turf War sounds very interesting and I'd like to try it. But I know rightly I wouldn't be fully committed to the game for very long.
I hated it and I still don't like it. Started playing it after OoT on the GameCube and thought it was a huge let down. Couldn't play much of it at the time. Eventually I came back to it and I did enjoy the gameplay. Just didn't like that style. Twilight Princess really impressed me again so I was back to loving the series again and became my second favourite Zelda game. OoT is my first. The art style for Wind Waker puts me off from replaying it.
I hope we do see it. It's my second favourite Zelda game and i cba setting up the Wii U again. Would love to see a trio collection on the same cartridge. TP, Ocarina of Time and Wind Waker. I know OoT is already on the online app but it's not just my favourite Zelda game but one of my favourite games of all time so I really want a physical copy of it.
My favourite!! MK8 is a pretty damn great MK for a single character and I think that game could live on for years to come. What we need is a MK9 to be a brand new Double Dash that could could do the same.
I thought it was pretty obvious that it would get delayed into 2023. We hardly seen anything from it and no gameplay yet. They did mention before that they were aiming for 2022. When a game is being said that it's aiming for a certain time, expect a delay. So many games have been getting a delay. I'm happy with the Spring 2023 because that is a quieter time to game so I wouldn't have to worry about thinking about other games i want to play which is a distraction
I don't think Nintendo have anything to worry about but I do think they should buy some of their own but only to help grow their own library with their closest allies. PlatinumGames would be perfect. Would love to see more Astral Chain and Bayonetta.
If anything was to happen to some of the big publishers like Square Enix or Capcom or Bamco or even Konami, I think they would be left independent too which would allow Nintendo to continue working on exclusive deals. Whatever happens next, I just hope they all remain independent and do business as usual. It only means that Sony/MS would also profit from sales on the Switch.
I don't like the way things are going but we can't do anything about it. So all we can do is hope that the ones we like the most are safe. And should they be acquired then remain independent
I think it will slip into holiday 2023 at the earliest because of the pandemic. But even if it wasn't a thing, it could still get delayed for other reasons too like needing more time to improve something
Red/Blue/Yellow are my favourite. Have so many great memories from it that can't be replaced with anything new. Has my favourite Pokemon too.
Gold/Silver/Crystal is in second place and then X/Y and then ORAS.
Sun and Moon is just the absolute worst game out of the lot that I would prefer to pretend they didn't exist. Ultra Sun&Moon were an improvment but the games are still at the bottom of the list right above the original.
All the rest were GREAT! They just can't complete with the memories I have with R/B/Y but they all have their own great memories.
I can't help but feel the only reason why N64 is in that expansion is because they may not get the number of subscribers for the expansion for Sega games on it's own. Throwing Animal Crossing expansion in makes the deal look sweeter, but it really isn't. But let's be honest here, it's the N64 games we want and the main reason why most would even consider paying. I haven't seen anyone wanting or being excited for the Sega games and myself certainly isn't as I already have multiple Sega collections on modern consoles anyway.
I just wonder did Nintendo and Sega have to come to an agreement to get those Sega games on. Maybe Sega would have refused if Nintendo didn't put N64 in with it to get guaranteed numbers (to pay for the licences). Had they refused, maybe Nintendo would have added N64 to the current subscripion as intended.
Oh well, not for me. Plenty of other titles to play instead.
It's not for me. The Mega Drive games already have a couple collections and isn't there a Sonic Origins expected for 2022? So adding Sega to the service just isn't for me as i already have the other collections which contain games I want to play and we have no idea what will get added to that service in the long run. Could end up being the same titles.
I've stopped played Animal Crossing to make time for other games so I've long moved on now. So Animal Crossing: New Horizons does nothing for me apart from push the price up. And even if i did want it, it's better to just buy it outright than to keep paying a subscription every year.
I really want to play the N64 games but I'm not willing to pay double the price for that alone. It should have been included in the current subscription.
What happens in the long run when the game sales slows down or eventually hits a stop in the future, will they still cover the cost for the cloud to keep those games running for everyone that bought it? Where would they take the money from to cover the cost of running the servers? And even if they keep adding more games to the cloud to keep money rolling in for it, that would be piling up more GBs which could push them to pay more to buy more servers wouldn't it?
In 20 maybe 30 years, will anyone that bought the cloud games still have access to them? When we look at digital games, when they get removed from the store we are still able to download them and play them. But what happens to cloud games
Not for me. I would have bought them again if I could buy physical copies of them but I'm not buying to play on the cloud. Already have them for my PS4 so if I wanted to stream those games, I'd just remote play them to my phone/laptop instead and that's free. Will never buy a cloud game no matter what it is
It sounds like a some fans are just not well informed. I think Bayonetta 1 being multiplatform plays a part in that. And it certainly doesn't help with Bayonetta 1 being bundled with Vanquish for PS4 and Xbox One. So even there new fans will wonder about the sequels.
It reminds of the time when Sony got Street Fighter V for PlayStation and I still see a some Xbox fans being angry about it in some general chats now and then. They don't seem to understand it's Sony that helped fund it and the game wouldn't have been made without them. So it's not going to be the last we see of this
If it's made to play games as it's primary purpose, then it's a console no matter what size it is, how it looks or how it's used.
I don't call it console though, but it is one. I call it handheld, handheld console, portable console.
I call them for what they are, but they are all consoles. It's easier to know what we are talking about when we call the handheld ones by one of the names i've listed above.
The Switch is a unique console. Can call it console, home console, handheld console, portable console or hybrid console. Call it what you want, there is no wrong way about it. It's just easier to understand what we're talking about when we call it by console and handheld.
For the main consoles i call those console and home console

Epona! How dare you not put her in anyway!!!
Midna is my second. TP is my second favourite game. Really liked Navi too because of OoT being my first

Re: Nintendo: $70 USD Won't Be A Trend, Games Priced On "Case-By-Case Basis"
The price matches what we have paid for BoTW when it increased in Europe. I'm just glad Nintendo didn't follow the PS5 footsteps and raised Europes price again.

If a new console/handheld was on the way, will Zelda have an upgraded version for it?

Looks amazing! I'm now using the picture as a wallpaper on my phone lock screen and it looks amaaaazing! <3
Re: Talking Point: What Do You Want To See At Tomorrow's Nintendo Direct Showcase?
I want to see a collection of Zelda games containing Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask and Twilight Princess. May aswell throw Wind Waker in too so it's not left out even though it's not for me or split it into two seperate games
I know OoT is already on the online app but I'd like to have a physical copy to keep.
Wishful thinking but I'd love to see the first Luigi's Mansion brought over to the Switch. The 3DS didn't feel the same as the GameCube and I love the spooky atmosphere which made it my favourite. Good time for a surprise reveal before halloween arrives.
Not expecting any of this to happen but that's what I'd love to see
Re: Nintendo Direct Zelda Announcement Rumours Intensify
@KingBowser They all want the news coverage to be around their games with excitement at the highest level. So when something big happens somewhere in the world, gaming news have been delayed at least a week or two to avoid distractions and it's being respectful. Happened multiple times this year. A delayed direct doesn't mean a delay for the games so don't worry
Re: Nintendo Direct Zelda Announcement Rumours Intensify
Would love a trio collection of Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask and Twilight Princess. Just for the sake of not leaving it out, throw Wind Waker in there too even though it's one i'm not fond of or split it into two collections even.
Re: Crikey! TY The Tasmanian Tiger 4 Is Getting A Nintendo Switch Release
@link3710 Cheers that does makes sense! Hope we do see it someday.
Re: Crikey! TY The Tasmanian Tiger 4 Is Getting A Nintendo Switch Release
Is there difficulty trying to get a remaster for Ty 3 due to Activision being the original publisher for that one? I'd really like to play the third before starting the forth
Re: Platinum's Switch Exclusive Astral Chain Celebrates Its Third Anniversary
Bought it day 1 and it's one of my favourite Switch games! Really want to see another
Re: Talking Point: Has Nintendo Done Enough To Justify Splatoon 3's Existence?
I think I might give this game a miss this time. Really loved Splatoon on the Wii U and then I couldn't reisist the sequel for the Switch. But I found myself dropping it very quickly and played it the exact same way as I played the first game. I think if I was to buy this one, I'd only end up doing that all over again. I'm trying to cut down on my spending too so I just don't see myself throwing money at it this time.
The Tricolor Turf War sounds very interesting and I'd like to try it. But I know rightly I wouldn't be fully committed to the game for very long.
Re: Pokémon Scarlet & Violet: What Are The Differences? All Version-Exclusive Pokémon And More
I don't know. I keep thinking I will go for Violet but then I end up thinking Scarlet.
Re: Miyamoto Wasn't A Fan Of The Art Style In Zelda: Wind Waker
I hated it and I still don't like it. Started playing it after OoT on the GameCube and thought it was a huge let down. Couldn't play much of it at the time. Eventually I came back to it and I did enjoy the gameplay. Just didn't like that style. Twilight Princess really impressed me again so I was back to loving the series again and became my second favourite Zelda game. OoT is my first. The art style for Wind Waker puts me off from replaying it.
Re: Zelda: Twilight Princess HD Dev Would "Love" To Bring The Game To Switch
I hope we do see it. It's my second favourite Zelda game and i cba setting up the Wii U again. Would love to see a trio collection on the same cartridge. TP, Ocarina of Time and Wind Waker. I know OoT is already on the online app but it's not just my favourite Zelda game but one of my favourite games of all time so I really want a physical copy of it.
Re: Feature: Mario Kart: Double Dash!! Is The Best Mario Kart, Right? Let's Find Out
My favourite!! MK8 is a pretty damn great MK for a single character and I think that game could live on for years to come. What we need is a MK9 to be a brand new Double Dash that could could do the same.
Re: Poll: C'mon Then, Did You Predict The Zelda: Breath Of The Wild 2 Delay?
I thought it was pretty obvious that it would get delayed into 2023. We hardly seen anything from it and no gameplay yet. They did mention before that they were aiming for 2022. When a game is being said that it's aiming for a certain time, expect a delay. So many games have been getting a delay. I'm happy with the Spring 2023 because that is a quieter time to game so I wouldn't have to worry about thinking about other games i want to play which is a distraction
Re: PlayStation Boss Jim Ryan Says "More Acquisitions" Are Coming
Re: Poll: So, Do You Think Zelda: Breath Of The Wild 2 Will Actually Release In 2022?
I think it will slip into holiday 2023 at the earliest because of the pandemic. But even if it wasn't a thing, it could still get delayed for other reasons too like needing more time to improve something
Re: Poll: What's The Best Pokémon Game Ever?
Red/Blue/Yellow are my favourite. Have so many great memories from it that can't be replaced with anything new. Has my favourite Pokemon too.
Gold/Silver/Crystal is in second place and then X/Y and then ORAS.
Sun and Moon is just the absolute worst game out of the lot that I would prefer to pretend they didn't exist. Ultra Sun&Moon were an improvment but the games are still at the bottom of the list right above the original.
All the rest were GREAT! They just can't complete with the memories I have with R/B/Y but they all have their own great memories.
Re: Random: Uh-Oh, Nintendo's Switch Online 'Expansion Pack - Overview Trailer' Is Generating A Lot Of Dislikes
Re: Poll: What Do You Think Of The Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pass Price?
Re: Video: Why Didn't Square Enix Port The Kingdom Hearts Collection To Switch?
Re: Poll: So, Will You Be Getting The "Cloud Versions" Of Kingdom Hearts On Switch?
Not for me. I would have bought them again if I could buy physical copies of them but I'm not buying to play on the cloud. Already have them for my PS4 so if I wanted to stream those games, I'd just remote play them to my phone/laptop instead and that's free. Will never buy a cloud game no matter what it is
Re: Hideki Kamiya Reminds Fans Bayonetta 3 Is A Nintendo Switch Exclusive
It sounds like a some fans are just not well informed. I think Bayonetta 1 being multiplatform plays a part in that. And it certainly doesn't help with Bayonetta 1 being bundled with Vanquish for PS4 and Xbox One. So even there new fans will wonder about the sequels.
It reminds of the time when Sony got Street Fighter V for PlayStation and I still see a some Xbox fans being angry about it in some general chats now and then. They don't seem to understand it's Sony that helped fund it and the game wouldn't have been made without them. So it's not going to be the last we see of this
Re: Poll: Do You Call Handhelds Like Game Boy And Nintendo DS 'Consoles'?
