@Joeynator3000 This, the PS4 and other Switch games are a lot of fun. Plenty of content, great shooting mechanics that requires strategy and quick reactions (a must for on-rails) and it has that feel that you want to keep replaying to get a better score which sounds like a 'obviously' thing but doesn't always land with other games.
The story is fun if nonsensical but you know that going in. The fanservice elements is also a wonder which you can ramp up or even tone down if you want.
Looks fab, definitely going to order. A LE that packs fun, uniqueness and collectability. As it should be.
@gojiguy because, believe it or not, every game is not catered to solely you. People out there like different things and developers like making things like this. A shock to you I know.
Why not just ignore this completely? Oh I know, moral 'superiority'.
@Moroboshi876 Play-Asia have the Seven Sirens game in an Asia release (with English of course) but not sure if that goes to your definition of normal stores since you have shipping and potential import fees.
Might be worth checking out some sellers that usually get them and sell domestically like some do on eBay.
Unfortunately don't see a normal release until some way into the future.
@roy130390 I wouldn't say considerable step forward, it's an improvement in the sense that there's more characters, better story mode but other than that it's basically just an update.
After finishing story mode, playing some versus matches I haven't felt inclined to go back to it since. Had the exact same issue with the first.
Kinda sounds like the 2 My Hero Academia games minus a bit of content, was gonna plump for this but will hold off on a deep sale.
To be honest most anime fighters, especially 3d fighters, lack depth in the actual fighting because that isn't the main appeal, it's just to get fans of the series to buy it, have their fun with their favourite character, relive a bit of the anime or what-ifs and nothing more. And I fall for it every single time.
Getting this because I don't have a PSP anymore but yeah the visuals are a big disappointment to me, right up until release I was hoping they were a work in progress but they barely look different from the PSP, a bit blurry which is a shame, I'm sure it looks better running in handheld though.
For £1.79 I got a good hour or so enjoyment out of it. Short and sweet. To me that is good value.
Thought the camera was fine (better than SM64 I experienced for the first time recently), controls were tight and the aesthetic nailed that era. Sure it is basic but it wasn't aiming to be anything other than that, the price point surely points toward that.
Think the review may have missed the point of it or they had unreasonable expectations.
This has a challenge mode? Even if basic that is nice. That is the one thing Mario Kart has been missing since the DS version and is sorely lacking to help boost the series lack of single player content.
Ah this is the one I've seen Alpharad play on his channel, it looks like a lot of fun with the user created characters like Ronald McDonald, any Smash character and more but they would never be allowed on a Nintendo platform I imagine due to copyright stuff which kinda takes away a big element of fun to me.
'Hey our online gaming infrastructure is 15 years behind everyone else despite charging actual money for it, pay a bit more to get something not completely awful (unless you have a Switch Lite then tough luck)'
Oh Nintendo.
To be honest I've not had any internet issue with the games I've played though I haven't played any Nintendo 1st party games online.
@Shiiva You sure? I know the Rising Sun flag isn't commonly used publicly but it is still used with their navy (and military in general?) and still used in pop culture without issue as far as I know. Loudness had an album cover with it in 2014 and still use it live I believe.
Biggest reaction I've seen of it was last year when China wanted it to be banned for Tokyo 2020 (despite it sill being used an on display when passing through Chinese waters / ports). Japan said no.
Also over here in the west no one really seems to care hence why they used in on the cover I imagine. Just a nice image.
@Phostachio Ah so instead of disputing any of my points you resorting name calling, classic playground tactic. Your comments also prove you cannot separate fiction from reality. That is incredibly disturbing but not surprising of someone who believes everything the far-left say about Trump. You keep drinking the koolaid buddy.
I'm not getting any further into politics on here as it aint the place and no one wants that toxin injected into a games comment section whichever 'side' you are on.
You also don't seem to know what a pedophile actually is, I am very concerned for you.
@Scollurio No, at most you'll get some very revealing bikinis, underwear etc and some very 'interesting' scenarios to show the girls in. You never get actual nudity in these games since Japan ratings boards have some weird rule about nudity on their games, you will never see a nipple in a JP game on console because of that.
In the west you can but is extremely rare, think one of the Far Crys did, God of War (not sure on original) and Heavy Rain. Maybe GTA as well not sure.
@Phostachio Real life little girls ≠ drawings of hyper stylised girls.
Wouldn't have thought I needed to say that but guess some people can't separate fiction from reality. So you like real women, good for you! Not sure what that has to do with anything though.
It's regressive as it is stifling creative freedom, something many fought so hard for over the years. The right was well known it for back in the 80s with their censorship brigades (see Dee Snider).
These days is it the left with their invention of cancel culture, attacking anyone who doesn't follow the approved guidelines, forcing women out of jobs and forcing their own ideals on anything and everything they can claw at.
@Gamer83 I assume some companies have contracts for releasing games and can't escape them. Is likely the reason Marvelous has to completely rework the entire new Senran Kagura game.
I think Final Fantasy has been for a while now far more popular overseas than Japan where it is a distant third behind Pokemon and Dragon Quest so it being exclusive makes sense since westerners just don't 'get' Dragon Quest.
@nessisonett Why would you want to kill someone? Why would you want to commit mass murder? If that is allowed why can I not have a drawing of a hyper stylized completely fictional young looking girl?
Also have you seen these drawings? None of them look remotely like actual children (unless you're going for shota / loli). As for why I want to look at drawings of fictional things, well it just hits the right buttons for me, simple as that. If I'm watching anime (or something a bit more adult) the age doesn't come up at all, the aesthetic does. It's fiction, as long as it not based on a real life person / event I have no issue. Don't need to explain it further like people who watch Rambo don't need to explain why they can't watch something more wholesome.
@Valhalla91 But they're okay with blatant murder? Extreme gore? Decapitation? Murdering innocent people? I mean I get none of those are as serious or harmful as a single panty shot but come on. Blatant double standards here.
The characters are drawings, age has no bearing as long as the rating boards rate them appropriately since you know, that's what they are for.
They had no issues with games as long as rating boards approve them in a non-AO (or equivalent) rating before they moved over to the regressive heartland of California and took on certain values.
@Gamer83 It won't change Sony I'm afraid, they've already declared as much that they don't care one bit for the Japanese market anymore since their move to California and consequent restricting of creative freedom if you're Japanese (you can have a sex scene in Last of Us 2 though no problem).
It's sad but that is the arrogance a company has when they're the market leader, it happened in very different ways after the success of the PS2.
I feel most for the companies that are forced to change entire directions of games (incurring incredible costs) when Sony changed their policy in an instant.
@PhhhCough I wasn't actually into gaming much when Hatred first appeared so didn't see the 'uproar'. That still baffles me considering how lauded MK is in it's gross depictions of brutality.
While I would prefer Postal 2 (watching Civvies Pro Postal series was immense fun) I understand limitations with the engine on that one so I am happy with this at least.
Amazing to see that this was considered controversial back on release considering the plethora of violence based games we have these days, some designed to revel in it. Nowadays it is more anything sexual is a no-no to certain western groups.
Makes sense to pick someone from a very popular show to promote it. Only got into Love Island recently by accident by turning on ITV2 to watch Family Guy, seeing the USA version and just ended up watching till the end. I am now converted.
Always wonder though how much this affect sales, for anything. It must work otherwise companies wouldn't do it but I can't think of any product a celeb I like could promote that would push me over the edge to buy.
Fantastic news, was gonna get the PS4 version at some point but held off when this was announced and now an English release is perfect. Still prefer KanColle but we aint getting that anytime soon.
@Xiovanni I get you don't want to support anything to do with Winnie the Poos regime so why not just buy it second hand (if released physically)?
Also whatever you buy, games or otherwise, is indirectly or directly supporting something you may disdain. Tis the way of life and it is not going to change. I can separate a regime from the hard working people who worked on it.
@MajinSoul Yeah or 'killing isn't for everyone' on a random shooter.
Just be thankful this is an actual review of a game like this and not the usual hate pieces NL churned out for these types of games, those seem to be going the way of the dodo which is most welcome.
@nessisonett Oh nice, did not know that. Think my hopes for a Switch version are mixed as sports games seem to skip Switch (EA doesn't care, 2K do but prey on you). At least on Xbox though.
@nessisonett MLB The Show is going multiplatform? I thought Sony had the deal for seemingly as long as they wanted. Would love a good baseball game on Switch.
Shame the review doesn't come down harsher on the predatory microtransaction and gambling mechanics but expected as much.
@Rika_Yoshitake If you're referring to SpawnWave how exactly are they 'clickbait'? I've been subbed to them for a long, long time now and they've not once used clickbait.
About matches my first impressions, I did actually try to treat it like a football game at first and got hammered on 2 star difficulty. Lesson learned.
The special moves are fun and seeing a player (in my case England) moving into a shot and just walling it out is fun.
Don't like how you basically need to wear down the keepers and it basically makes anyone outside strikers useless for scoring. Load times can be a bit of an inconvenience as well.
But still enjoying and not yet wanted to punch Tsubasa like I did watching the anime so there's that.
Not surprising, Falcolm are a small studio compared to others and thus they don't have the large resources to handle multiple platforms and localisations.
Pokemon Companys handling of hacking in general is so poor, they had a world champion who was a confirmed hacker and they didn't care so doing something like is pointless.
A shame it doesn't cover season 2 (wanted to delve more into the Pleasure Quarter characters) but I'm okay with it. I am kinda bummed I waited too long to get the LE from PQube and ended up missing out.
Glad to know the gameplay seems good, was my one worry. Reminds me of the Yuuna and the Haunted Hot Springs game that came out a year or two ago on PS4 that saw Sony slaughter it with censorship.
Visuals and gameplay not running perfectly sound about what I expected, played almost all of the games from PS3 to Vita and PS4 and yeah you don't play them for that, it's something you get over quickly.
The repetition / padding is not something I'm too bothered about either so gonna play this one when my copy comes from LRG as I never got to it initially.
The fan service elements (of all kinds) is most welcome and only ever elevates it, hope this does well enough to get more of the series on Switch. Some of the Vita spin-offs would be lovely.
Thousand Year Door sales were the best of the lot for me considering how low the install base of the GameCube was compared to others and how at the time gaming wasn't anywhere near as mainstream as it is right now.
The new one on Switch should sell well, there's been little else recently. Not gonna play it myself yet as I want to get through the 3DS and Wii U entries first.
@KillerBOB Less people watching on TV? Yes, more people watching on streaming, apps, worldwide though so you're not looking at it from a global view to support you're flawed view. TV ratings declined in general for everything, you cannot use that as a comparison.
You've not countered anything I've said so I'll take that as you can't.
Oh and nice generalization of wrestling fans, clearly you stopped watching 20 years ago as your views are incredibly outdated. Tells me all I need to know about you.
@KillerBOB You should never use popularity as a determining factor for anything really. Do you even watch wrestling these days? The standard is leaps and bounds above what came in the 90s, whatever style you're into and that can't be really questioned. The storytelling? That's subjective, the story of Tanahashi vs Okada at WK for example was a multi year story that felt organic and not something you'd see in the 90's.
Is it in the mainstream? Not as much though depends which country you look. And the tens of millions, I would contest that, from what I could see it was approaching 9 mil (on occasion) for a short period of time.
Take into account TV isn't nearly as strong an indicator these days, wrestling throughout the world has never been stronger (until the Chinese coronoavirus hit at least). NJPW sell out the Tokyo Dome, demand for it overseas is increasing which is incredible, AEW are in with great success, AAA and CMLL are still strong as ever, places like Stardom exist and grow every year.
@KillerBOB How can you say that modern wrestling / wrestlers are trash? We are in arguably THE golden age of wrestling with so much quality out there for every type of fan, promotions like NJPW, CMLL, AAA, Impact and more constantly putting out incredible events.
I just want a wrestling game in general on Switch that isn't Fire Pro (not my cup of tea) . Haven't touched anything Take Two throws up, never played No Mercy since I was a Playstation kid so have no feelings towards it. Reading this doesn't make me want to play it either in new or old format.
TNA (now Impact) and AAA had releases last gen and both were a lot of fun and very different to the then Smackdown series, I'd love either of those updated and rereleased (give me Pagano) but no hope of that. They even looked better, go look at some of the models in the games compared to recent 2K garbage, night and day difference.
I am liking the look of this, it does look the closest to Pokemon and I am okay with that, at least this one looks like effort & passion has been put into it. Will tide me over until Digimon Survive comes out.
Just glad it's getting a physical version (in Europe at least).
Given how it looks, how big it is supposed to be in terms of open world and the like I expected much larger than 6.2GB. Granted it is a game from a long time ago (relatively speaking). Can't remeber if the 360 version came on one disc or two actually.
Glad to know the port holds up well on Switch, it was the only issue on my mind but can await my copy without worry now.
When I first got it way back on PS3 I bought it more for the story but the gameplay was so simple yet so damn addictive. Another chance to relive that is more than welcome.
@Zuljaras Yeah hoping (and expecting) LRG to announce a physical fairly soon.
Considering I was never keen on 2D games from back in NES / SNES era (just never clicked with me) but gave the original a chance and it was a whole lotta fun even for a novice like me. Looking forward to 2.

It's pretty neat and something Nintendo should have done to add to the little effort bare bones release but then that would require, you know, effort.
Is it 10 quid worth it, no but it isn't my cup of tea, I'm not one to judge what others spend money on though. Whatever makes you happy.

Re: Australian Rating For Immortals Fenyx Rising Reveals "In-Game Purchases"
Yeah that just killed my interest though I don't know why I expected it to be any different given it's Ubisoft, nickel and diming is their motto.
The 'it's just cosmetic' defense has been debunked time and again so that does not wash.
If it is just for mission / story DLC down the line it would be okay but anything else in a full priced game is a big nope.

Re: Paper Mario: The Origami King Launch Sales Compared To Past Entries (Japan)
Thousand Year Door sales were the best of the lot for me considering how low the install base of the GameCube was compared to others and how at the time gaming wasn't anywhere near as mainstream as it is right now.
The new one on Switch should sell well, there's been little else recently. Not gonna play it myself yet as I want to get through the 3DS and Wii U entries first.
Re: Visual Novel KukkoroDays Confirmed For Switch Release This August
Great news, loved the other Qureate VNs on Switch and I'm sure this will be the same. Short, sweet and fun. All you need.
Re: Soapbox: It's Time For WWE No Mercy To Make A Comeback On Nintendo Switch
@KillerBOB Less people watching on TV? Yes, more people watching on streaming, apps, worldwide though so you're not looking at it from a global view to support you're flawed view. TV ratings declined in general for everything, you cannot use that as a comparison.
You've not countered anything I've said so I'll take that as you can't.
Oh and nice generalization of wrestling fans, clearly you stopped watching 20 years ago as your views are incredibly outdated. Tells me all I need to know about you.
Re: Soapbox: It's Time For WWE No Mercy To Make A Comeback On Nintendo Switch
Re: Soapbox: It's Time For WWE No Mercy To Make A Comeback On Nintendo Switch
@KillerBOB How can you say that modern wrestling / wrestlers are trash? We are in arguably THE golden age of wrestling with so much quality out there for every type of fan, promotions like NJPW, CMLL, AAA, Impact and more constantly putting out incredible events.
A bit of rose tinted view of the past I think.
Re: Soapbox: It's Time For WWE No Mercy To Make A Comeback On Nintendo Switch
Re: Pokémon-Like Nexomon: Extinction Shows Off Three Of The Game's Regions
I am liking the look of this, it does look the closest to Pokemon and I am okay with that, at least this one looks like effort & passion has been put into it. Will tide me over until Digimon Survive comes out.
Just glad it's getting a physical version (in Europe at least).
Re: Crysis Remastered Switch eShop File Size Revealed
@Orpheus79V Was it? Could have sworn I had seen it in a shop at the time. Maybe it was one of the others.
Re: Crysis Remastered Switch eShop File Size Revealed
Given how it looks, how big it is supposed to be in terms of open world and the like I expected much larger than 6.2GB. Granted it is a game from a long time ago (relatively speaking). Can't remeber if the 360 version came on one disc or two actually.
Re: Review: Catherine: Full Body - The Ultimate Version Of A Surreal Cult Classic
Glad to know the port holds up well on Switch, it was the only issue on my mind but can await my copy without worry now.
When I first got it way back on PS3 I bought it more for the story but the gameplay was so simple yet so damn addictive. Another chance to relive that is more than welcome.
@SquallLeonhart86 Damn straight.
Re: Team Up With A Friend When Bloodstained: Curse Of The Moon 2 Arrives On 10th July
