Wow, that's very high praise! Especially considering that I am used to critic reviews of Mario Party games rarely being this glowing. I'll definitely be giving this a shot with some friends (who, knowing this franchise, will likely not be my friends anymore shortly thereafter)!
Sweet, I was waiting for this to come to console! This game has one of my favourite art styles of any game ever, it's seriously just right up my alley. Seriously can't wait to play this!
@SillyG I 100% agree, and this is one of the reasons why I eventually got out of Yu-Gi-Oh. Either I blow all my money basically gambling, or I buy all the cards I want second hand which is also quite overpriced. Like sure this is kind of dirty, but I can't help but kind of support it, just based on my own experience with the hobby.
Oh sweet! I was going to get this on N64, but I kind of hate that controller a lot, so I'll be glad to get it on Switch or PS5! I probably will also get it on Evercade too of course, no such thing as too much Glover as my old man always said
@Elbow Right, that would make sense. See this is one of those situations where I'm torn, because I'd love to see the game do well so that these guys can as you said keep the lights on, but I also don't want to see it do tooooo well as let's be honest most people really don't want to see more stuff like this "encouraged" haha
Not trying to be rude, but I am having a hard time figuring out how somebody thought this was a good concept for a game. I mean the crossover aspect I suppose because Funko draws from an ungodly amount of franchises, but like a game based on Funkos in general? Do they expect it to sell? Does 10:10 games just really, really like Funkos? I honestly want to see like a dev interview with these guys just to see how the concept originated. Even if it is as simple as "we thought it would sell well", I just have to know
Wow, that's actually really awesome. Even if in an unconventional way, Nintendo offering replacement parts for their old controllers has to be commended.
Man at this point it's crazy to think that Trails is just a subseries in the wider The Legend of Heroes franchise, since Trails has completely dominated the franchise for so darn long now. I would assume that once the Trails story finally comes to a close, Falcom will return to the wider The Legend of Heroes franchise and explore what new directions they can take it? I hope so, as that would be pretty exciting to me.
There is a timeline where we're on this site discussing upcoming games, and we're talking about how the next Kong Dong is going to be huge. I'm not sure if that's the best or the worst timeline...
I am so glad to see this Mario style back again, thanks to this new game! It's my favourite art style that the ol' plumber has ever had, although I may be slightly biased since I kind of worship both Superstar Saga and Bowser's Inside Story as games
I'll probably stick with the 3DS version if there is no new content. I simply love the 3DS and just enjoy using that console in general, so despite the improvements I know that I would prefer the 3DS version. Plus I'm one of the few people that thinks that the 3D on the 3DS was super cool, and I often like to get 3DS versions of games just for that!
Regardless though, I of course acknowledge that the Switch version is obviously superior on a technical level, so I hope people enjoy the generally improved experience!
Huh, I was trying to decide if I was going to buy the HD version on Xbox at a pretty reasonable price, or wait for the probably upgraded 20th Anniversary Edition but undoubtedly at a much higher price. Was interested in waiting until 20th Anniversary comes out so I could do a direct comparison between the versions and thus make an informed purchase. With that delisting (thanks, Ubisoft), I guess my decision has been made for me then...
@NinChocolate Great point. As soon as I first saw Mario and Luigi in the trailer, the style immediately gave away that it was a Mario & Luigi game. At least to help with art direction, you're right, they almost certainly must have brought aboard key former Alpha Dream staff.
I was never into the art style of the new Link's Awakening, which this seems essentially the same as, but regardless this looked awesome, and I can't wait to give it a try!
I'm going to put my money down on something bold, and say Beyond Good and Evil 20th Anniversary Edition shadow drop. Maaaaaaybe Metroid Prime 4 and Silksong (look, they HAVE to show up again at some point...).
Awesome, I'll definitely try it, especially since there's a demo, as I've been a big fan of Acquire's work for a while now. It's almost always either top quality, or relatively mediocre but still worth trying out to see if it suits you because of incredibly unique gameplay.
They're neat I guess but not really my thing (although if they ever came out with Ephraim and Eirika Amiibos, which will never happen, but a man can dream, I would buy them instantly). I just am not really a fan of when they occasionally choose to lock content behind them. If they could even make the Amiibo-locked content alternatively available through overpriced DLC, I'd be fine with that.
Basically any home console before the Xbox 360 and any handheld console before the DS. Specifically because hearing the 7th gen consoles being called retro like the Wii or the DS fills me with a sense of existential dread. I have tried to come up with logical justifications on my position of not calling the 7th generation retro, but ultimately I just have to be honest with myself and say that I just don't want that feeling of existential dread haha
Glad Atari deliberately went out of their way to not acquire the Amico. Let Tommy keep that... thing. Apart from that, say what you will about consolidation and all that, but I personally would trust Atari more with the Intellivision brand and legacy than Tallarico Incorporated.
Okay so this might be a dumb idea but I've always wondered about how this concept could possibly go for a while now: a 3D Donkey Kong game with much of its gameplay inspired by Wario World?
On one hand, there are surely at least a few indie games out right now that are similar but all around better.
...On the other hand, for reasons science still can't explain I'm kiiiiiiind of an unapologetic Atari fanboy, so I'll definitely be picking this up on one or two platforms. Fingers crossed that it's good!
@Mr_Wolf12000 I've always wondered if part of the reason that Little Samson and Panic Restaurant were never re-released is that the companies who developed them held the respective IPs, and with both of those companies now gone, the rights to those games are just kind of lost in limbo. That's just my speculation.
...That, or Taito just refuses to re-release them out of spite at this point
