@97alexk agreed, making you convert cards that are actually tradeable for tokens, while all the 1 & 2 diamond bulk just sits there is terrible. Really cynical implementation.
This trend of booking/buying things to immediately price-gouge on eBay really is foul practice. I get why people do it, but it is disgusting behaviour.
@Axecon trading means people are more likely to get what they are chasing, and faster. Of course they hate it in all forms. Digital will kill it anyway, same as swapping physical games with a pal for a week - will be a thing of the past.
It's one of the worst implementations of anything, ever. Make us wait months for trading then when it finally arrives you can't even trade anything. Absolutely shocking if I am honest, it's a good thing that Topps WWE Slam just came back - I shall be cancelling my premium pass and spending my money there instead. Topps have it nailed. DeNA/Nintendo are anti-trading, and want you to pay for the pleasure. I'm stopping short of abandoning it completely but if they don't change the feature I think my days on Pocket will be numbered. "TCG"
If law-abiding people didn't legally purchase these games then they wouldn't even be developed in the first place. Nobody is working for free. I don't understand why people think they are entitled to other people's work for free. Well done Nintendo on taking the correct stance. "Preservation". LOL
@ukaskew37 as someone else alluded to, Nintendo did not seek this investment, they found out about it in the news! No issue with Nintendo, it's just sad that money gained from destroying the planet used by people with horrific human rights records and misogynistic and homophobic views is being used to infiltrate everything PIF possibly can, it seems.
@Horace Didn't even think about it from that POV. Now it seems like even worse news! They've already broken football, clearly have no intention of stopping there
This cabal is buying up everything, and nobody has the plums to stand up to it. Make a stand when prompted but when there's money involved morals go right out the window. Grim
@spottedleaf Same on the 'blindness'. Been avoiding everything possible. Will never understand people's need to know things before they happen. Surprises are nice.
Only boxed are the four BOTW champions, Old school 8-bit Mario, and the Cat Mario/Peach double pack (purely due to space). I've shifted a lot of them (had over 50 at one point, now down to 10/15 or so) due to the family expanding etc. The rest were all unboxed as I have two stands for them - 1 based on the end of the level from SMB1 and the other based on the first level from the original Donkey Kong. The only ones I currently have on display (unboxed) are the three yarn Yoshis (blue, green and pink). In storage are all of the Pokemon amiibo, SSB Sonic, Petey Piranha, Dr Mario and the aforementioned boxed figures.
@SuperCharr I buy the community day ticket once a month (79p) and that is it. I don't find that I need to spend money apart from that. I never run out of balls, always do mega raids - sometimes even if I already have the legendary in question - always put Pokemon on gyms if I'm near one and this gives me 50 coins a day, which is more than enough. I think there are just over 700 Pokemon currently in the game, I'm on 660. You really don't need to spend a lot of money. That's my experience anyway. Both Community Days and Battling demand your time, but one is only once a month and the other I dip in and out of as I want.
If graphics mean anything to you I have no idea why you even bother with Pokemon games. Complaining about it is even more nonsensical. They are games for kids that some adults still play. Most logical people will either accept that or stop playing. Seriously, who cares if all the trees look the same. It's not why I play the game.
@DABYX It's not exclusive to gamers. I have two twitter accounts - one for football and one for wrestling and it's exactly the same. The internet - for all the good things it does - is exposing the ugly side of humanity for all to see. It gets more difficult to deal with every day.
@Helloworld117 Everytime I check the US rewards there are always a lot of things I want that aren't available in Europe. I've stopped checking the US rewards because it happens every single time. I'm sure it happens to you too - why can't they just offer the same rewards to everyone?
@Edu23XWiiU The ports are the main/only thing that annoy me - I bought most, if not all these games on Wii U and I'm not about to drop £60 per game when I already own them. That aside, I love the console.
I love Nintendo and Lego. This is expensive no matter how you dress it up. Was actually considering it until I realised I'd read 'microfigures' as 'minifigures' and saw them in the video. Calling them figures is a liberty - if this set actually had minifigures I'd probably have taken the hit and bought it. The microfigures absolutely suck, though.
@KittenWarrior The series got better as it evolved. I love every single game although never played THPS5. Did anyone? Hope there are plans for more remakes.
Judging by the wear on my existing Switch, the images on the back will disappear over time. Also feel they've missed a trick by not pre-loading the game onto this console. (Unless I missed that). I wouldn't consider buying a 'lite' model anyway as I wouldn't want to lose the ability to play on a big screen.
@Edu23XWiiU great comeback kid. Bored of this exchange - if you can't be decent I have nothing more to add. Again, and for the final time, have a great day.
@Edu23XWiiU You have a very strange definition of 'rude'. I've been nothing of the sort. You've been fast and loose with the (unsubstantiated) insults, on the other hand. Have a great day.
@UmbreonsPapa Same. In fact I've owned every single Nintendo console, and still do. I don't feel that Nintendo owe me anything, I just don't understand why they think I should pay twice for the same content. A discount scheme would be a welcome change - and it's not a big ask since other companies already do it (or go even further in some cases). As i said in my original post, I get it - there is a lot of content on the Wii U that can be ported to Switch as it did not sell. It's business. The knock on effect of this is that we don't get any new content - as in the case of Mario Kart 8 which is now 7 years old.
@Edu23XWiiU That's great for you - each to their own. However, I retain my right to an opinion, and that's all it is. An opinion. One I can offer without being rude to others. I've played plenty - thanks for the concern - but I will never pay twice for a game. Normally the 'additional content' you speak of just includes the DLC from the original games and guess what? I paid for those too! Even if there is new content, it doesn't justify the £40/50 outlay. A good example of this is the 3D World port. Awesome game, but I have it on Wii U and I'm not spending £40/50 just to be able to play Bowser's Fury. Same for MK8, I can just boot up my WiiU, why would I pay £50? Enjoy your day, and maybe rethink your responses. I don't understand the need to be rude.
It's not four years old - it's seven, and a representation of how Nintendo repeatedly kick Wii U owners in the proverbial nuts. I'm tired of them re-releasing games I already have on an older system. I am not paying twice for the same content. It's infuriating. I get it, there are a lot of excellent games on the Wii U that a lot of people didn't play. But I don't understand why I should be forgotten about as a loyal customer. I've lost count of how many games have been re-released which means Nintendo have not had to develop a new version so there are a number of game franchises (like the 7 years since a new Mario Kart) for which we are still waiting for new content. It wouldn't be so bad if there was some sort of scheme in place for people who own Wii U versions but this is Nintendo, the king of the 'double dip'.
The launch trailer was awesome, I've played through one battle and first impressions of this are great. It's nice to be able to play as a Pokemon and use their moves - almost feels like an old school beat 'em up but in 3D.
Metroid looks fun from a nostalgic point of view. It was very unexpected. Already knew about the new Mario Rabbids so no surprise but definitely looking forward to it. BOTW2 - as some have said - at this point looks like it should be DLC. Hopefully it evolves with a bit more dev time. Can't see myself playing anything else there. I'll probably pick up the Metroid amiibos along with the LOZ Game & Watch for the collection. Disappointed with no Pokemon although not surprised. DK would have been nice, and will we ever have a new Mario Kart?!
@Strictlystyles I'm confused as to why you want people to stop talking about a major consideration in the buying process of any tech product. It's a little odd. Clearly if a lot of people are commenting about the price then accessibility is an issue. Yes it may be a good product that can make your breakfast and drive you to work but if consumers can't afford it then the success of the product will be limited - which brings with it it's own consequences. Look at the Wii U (I know the issue was not price but the point is the same) which was a commercial failure despite being a great product.
@Tontus314 kids don't understand 'it's too expensive'. So if you're a parent with no interest in this game but have a child who does then you're faced with two options: disappoint your child or get ripped off. HTH
You use a real ball to play? I'm confused...how does that work? Surely you didn't smack a golf ball round the house?! I'm older than this device yet have never seen or even heard of it.
@Kimyonaakuma Mine too, bar some friction marks from when my hands sit, along with the obligatory joy-con drift - which I have remedied with a Pro Controller. I prefer the big screen anyway.
