Niantic's latest AR game Pikmin Bloom is now available to download in Europe, Africa, and select countries across Asia.
Made in partnership with Nintendo, the app has you growing your Pikmin, making flowers bloom and more, all while walking around in the real world Pokémon GO-style. We went hands-on with the game ahead of its launch across the Americas last week, so feel free to have a read through our early impressions if you're interested.
Pikmin Bloom can be downloaded on both iOS and Android; links to both can be found in the tweet below.

Hmm, I still can't find it on Google Play in Hong Kong.
That’s 180 markets in total! Pikmin Bloom has officially surpassed Super Mario Run as the most widely available Nintendo mobile game in the world!
I have it and can't get it to work. I doesn't seem to track my steps. Will try again later today.
Perfect timing as I'm going for a long walk later today
Will download!
@Grandiajet I had this (android user). Installing Google Fit fixed it (this logs and transfers your steps for you to Bloom)
@AhabSpampurse I'm an andriod user too. I installed Google Fit as requested by the game, and that's when I started having problems. It tracked my first 10 step as part of the intro. Once I added Google Fit it just stopped tracking me. Maybe my permissions are set up wrong.
Downloaded it and am intrigued to see how it differs from previous Pikmin titles. As someone who spent a good 2.5-3 years on Pokemon GO before getting burned, I hope this can keep my interest for a reasonable amount of time
Not the biggest pikmin fan... but hey. better then the other monsters...
No thanks, I'm good. I'd rather keep my soul.
@Grandiajet You might have the permissions set to only record when the app is open, as this is the default.
Also for anyone with a Fitbit or other fitness tracking watch, a companion app can transfer this data into your Google Fit app and thus into Pikmin. I have a Fitbit so the FittoFit app syncs it for me
@alpacatears Thanks for the tip. I'll try changing that later 🙂
@Grandiajet I was a beta user. I do recall something about having to diddle with permissions... it usually gives you a prompt in red at the top of the screen when you boot the game... something about the tracking being on constant as opposed to only when the app is launched.
Let me know how you get on ✌
@alpacatears I have the same issue on the iPhone. Its the same issue with Pokemon GO as well.
I have fully opened up GPS tracking at all times and given the correct permission in health to access steps.
Eggs never hatched when the App was closed. Only when the App was open.
Seems to be the same deal now with Pikmin Bloom. It won't track unless the App is actively running. /shrug
Nice. Thank you.
@Franklin
It could be that your phone is too old or you haven't updated your phone's firmware.
"Hey, Miyamoto Sama! Guess what, we turned your gardening inspired hobby project into a pocket beggar for milking money out of stressed people during their windows of weak decision making! Aren't you thrilled how far your franchise has come?"
I installed it, but like Pokemon Go it probably will be uninstalled in a few days. It's interesting, but also a needless drain on my phone's battery.
it absolutely wrecked my battery life on my phone, ate 20% with only 2minutes of actual use as it's apparently constantly churning away in the background. Pikmin4 is the worst Miyamoto gem ever.
I just tried it, looks fun, but I'm not entirely sold yet. Mostly because I don't have a clue what I should be doing, except walking and planting flowers/growing Pikmin.
I tried it, but it became boring quite fast.
It's not much more than a step counter app.
There is a in game store of course with 100$ items.
@Pod I personally don't think there's too much to complain about - seems like there's no need to pay any extra to enjoy the game, and it doesn't beg you to pay any more at all (I'm yet to receive a notification of any offers or any real encouragement to buy anything). Definitely doesn't feel predatory to me - not pay to win, and seeds cannot be bought, only earned by playing the game.
I am the only one playing in one of the most populated areas in my country's capital city... Feels lonely
Downloaded this today and unless I am missing something, I don't see the point of it.
I think it's hilarious to read all the comments by the languorous and baffled gamers who can't wrap their head around a step counter game.
I think Nintendo needs to stick with console games. Niantic games are boring.
@Oish
I kid, I kid.
Although, most of the heavy monetization usually won't enter the stage until a substantial userbase is secured. Or until they realize they WON'T achieve a substantial userbase. ^^
That’s a lot of countries
@AhabSpampurse It seems to be working now. There is a bit of a delay between me walking and the game picking up my steps. It seems right at the end of the day though.
