Thing is if you get the cornering right you get a huge boost, the auto accel gives your time instead to counter your opponent i.e. spin attacking, spitting an enemy at them or using an ability. The races are pretty chaotic and that's what the selling point of them is. It won't be like mario kart or an arcade racer.

@Aswannsong That's a pretty interesting way to express that you hate Kirby. You're wrong though, he's very popular in both sides of the world. And two of the games you listed do get attention? Metroid got Dread AND the 4th prime is releasing soon. Pikmin got its 4th game a couple years back, so they're definitely still getting focused on.

There's no way I'm playing a shooter that dips below 30fps, that's a guaranteed laggy mess that will lead to dying a lot and a poor experience overall. Heck, the ps5 and series X not having a solid 60 just goes to show how poorly this game will be going.

I said this before. But I think the issue would be largely resolved if the traveled to course wasn't just one lap, if they added one more to it I'm going to bet there wouldn't be many complaints.

I don't mind the intermissions, but that's my own personal gripe. We're not actually racing the courses when all it is is a highway and then just 1 lap.

@harrystein well that isn't condescending at all. Some people use their freetime differently. Nothing wrong with long playtime. Maybe you should be more focused on your own life than how others live theirs, it doesn't impact you one bit.

I think the battery meter is glitched. Because one moment I can go more than 3 hours on mario kart and another I'm lucky if it hits 2 hours like some are reporting. I also noticed it was sitting at 96% for over 3 hours while plugged in, which, I noticed was weird, so I unplugged it and it was suddenly 100%. I'm willing to bet there will be another update sooner than later.

As for battery draining in standby, maybe they left games downloading overnight? Because when I put my switch down last night it was 82% and 7 hours later I found it at 81%.

The walmart reconciliation thing is real. There's no conspiracy, it looks like their payment system actually is having issues. I've gotten my fraud alert triggered twice as of last night. I've seen users say that they got the right to get their purchase back, as seen in this thread that also has the walmart page.

Wait, so you're telling me large and huge maps not being in the game wasn't a compatability issue? So what the heck was the reasoning then, was development for the switch just a last minute thing?

Don't get me wrong, as someone who owns the switch version this is nice, but I don't understand why you wouldn't just delay the switch version then until it was equipped with all features.

Initially I thought this was a hardware revision leak, but it seems like its mostly a leak on the cpu/gpu processor that is in the upcoming model. That would be insane if they already had the capability though, it took 2 years to get the boosted battery on the original switch.

Well, looks like we finally have a company who went behind the union's back to use AI tech. SAG-AFTRA has been boogymaning it for a while now and was using it as a tool to harass Hoyo (despite the fact that Hoyo has anti-AI in their contract), but now we have the real deal. Hopefully this gets them off of Hoyos back and to the actual real issue.

Well, hopefully devs will be able to unlock the rest of the memory or have the option to "opt out" of gamechat capability. Idk why they put $15. Adjusting for conversion rate is pointless in this situation. But a rule of thumb from someone who lived in Tokyo; if you see something like 1000 yen, put a . Two 0's in and you got the equivalent of what it technically should be here (US). That works with everything, so 10000 would be $100.00. Largely they were right, in theory normal upgrades are $10, while dlc upgrades are $20. imo, since dlc is usually $20ish anyway, the performance update is just a bonus.

For Nintendo and Sony at least, they won't quit physical. Japan is still the largest market and physical copies still sell the most there. It's so annoying when a narrative is forced to try to get them to go a certain direction. I feel like these guys almost want them to go digital only.

Keiji Inafune is a menace to the industry. Leaves Capcom, tries to take credit for mega man and uses that clout to make mighty no 9, which didn't go over well. Didn't take long for his company to get acquired and then proceeds to make another bad game, leaves that before it blows up and has the CEO of all people pick up the pieces. Seeing all the effort put into this, I'm looking forward to this.

In this event I would follow what I've been doing for the past couple years since mtg started doing the same thing, just print proxies. The scalpers will give them their money, you still get your nice art, and everyone wins.

Yes there's the matter of not being able to be in tournaments, and some people are going to make a face that you didn't pay for the cards, but when you're spending hundreds at once for what's supposed to be a "hobby", I think there needs to be a reevaluation here. There shouldn't be a large $ standing in the way of enjoyment. After playing mtg for almost 15 years, I finally walked away from it. The game, at the time, was cheap and affordable, now all almost all these card games are about is what's basically irl NFTs.

@Bahamut_GR If you're expecting a massive graphics update with the switch 2, you're kidding yourself. It's going to be like the new 3DS and Wii U where it's slightly more powerful. I'm a nintendo fanboy like no other, but they'll never prioritize power. That new mario kart didn't look much different than the one we have now.

@Bahamut_GR Then you're forgetting what the original 3DS looked like. The screens didn't have trackable 3D, and lacked a c-stick outside of the add on you had to buy. The new 3DS and Switch 2 are the same; both have minor updates but largely keep the same experience.

I mean, is there a surprise? The new 3DS was the exact same way, all it did was boast a better, trackable 3D, improved power, and a c stick. I get the feeling they're working on another actual console on the side.

@Bolt_Strike Thank you! Exactly, that's what I've been telling some friends as well. Just because the tariffs are there, it doesn't give them any other incentive to come to the US. You want them to come here and help us be more prosperous? Give them a deal they can't refuse. All this is going to do is have them make more money off our sorry butts in the end, because we can't be bothered to actually learn the processes that our society functions off of.

@batmanbud2 Except they won't. Like every other corporation they will go with the cheaper route, and producing in Japan currently isn't that route due to their suffering economy.

Second, you are factually wrong. There are numerous studies that prove that video games cause no violent tendencies on the mind at all. Just because a celebrity (or person in power) says it, doesn't automatically warp logic and make it true. And if people really were looking down on Nintendo, it wouldn't be on the verge of being the best selling console of all time.

I actually just encountered the download issue tonight. I bought Ys X and for some reason the app didn't appear on my home screen and I had to go and manually set the download myself.

The vitriol here towards vtubers is actually kind of shocking. Hololive at least, are just entertainers at their core who are actually pretty funny. Do they rely on sexualization at times? Yes, but it's not their entire identity. And Hololive at least has gained a decent amount of influence, seeing as they did a collab with the Dodgers of all things, and actually packed the stadium. And some Hololive streamers at least, put their foot down and shut down the parasocial aspects of it, all they want to do is entertain.

Because the problem totally isn't the blatant misinformation that's running rampant over the internet, people looking for quick and easy info to affirm their (likely) incorrect opinion, or those who are letting powerful figures dictate their thought processes rather than thinking for themselves. So I ended up passing on this the first time around due to seeing the story wasn't great, looks like I might give this a fair shake now seeing all of this.

I went through three pairs of joycons, had one set fixed while under warranty, and instead of fixing them they just sent back a different pair along with the broken ones. The other two I had to pay out of pocket and they went back to drifting months later. It wasn't until my Zelda set that it finally stopped, which was after the lawsuits happened funny enough. My splatoon 3 set are also fine after more than a year.

That being said, I treat my devices very well. I never had this issue until this console. I still use my original controllers from my NES all the way up to my GameCube.

Coming out of my hole to say how shocked and surprised I am that Iggy's is getting brought to the switch. I played this game a ton as a kid and just thought recently about if it's a well known game or not lol.

It's not even rare replay that I care about. How they dropped the ball for me is that this was a perfect chance to get DK64, Banjo-Tooie, and Diddy Kong Racing. Like how are we this far along and we still don't have any of those games yet.

People seem to be forgetting that the reason why we have free joycon repairs in the first place is because of the original class action that was made against them. I remember having to pay $40 to get mine fixed previously because the warrenty lapsed before they enacted the new policy.

While this one was made out of selfishness, not all class action suits are bad.

@Dr_Lugae I'm not entirely disagreeing with you, but let's not pretend that SE doesn't put out rushed, unfinished games. The number one example being FF14 1.0, a game that has gone down in infamy for being rushed out because of corporate greed. There's extensive interviews on youtube with the current producer as well as others from the studio pointing out the missteps that were knowingly made.

I feel like people are glossing over the biggest part of this, the dude almost made $11K off of selling these modded pokemon. The arrest may be overkill, but he was breaking the rules of the game, and selling a mod that affected it, he shouldn't go unpunished either.

Not sure if it was a mistake on their end, but a few years ago when my joy-cons were returned after being repaired, I found four joy-cons instead of the two I gave them. Two of them being my originals after checking the serial, and two brand new ones. I found that the originals were still broken, so apparently they couldn't fix them.

This site really baffles me sometimes. People defend Luigi's mansion size, then bash this. Why not just wait for the games to come out, before jumping to conclusions at all?

Seeing as they didn't add much new content with this, I'll just end up waiting until a drought to pick it up. Its definitely one of my favorite 3DS games though, and I highly recommend it to those on the fence

I lost my trust in them when they screwed me over. I bought cave story on the 3ds, and lost access to redownload when they took down the original for a while, after they posted the updated version. I did eventually get my rights back to redownload, but I had a bad taste in my mouth from them since.

Apparently people didn't read the article. The moment they see "DLC", they have their hands in the air, raving like a lunatic, thinking the game is incomplete. Its an addition to a multiplayer mode! Since when has nintendo released a game that wasn't complete? I get that DLC is highly abused, but come on now...

Even if it was different from the Japanese version, I still think that little bit of extra context wasn't bad. Both are terrible to do to someone, but the former added more depth to it.
