Re: Review: Wonder Boy Returns Remix - A Remake That Really Does Go Back To The Beginning

I played it a few times back on the C64. Didn't like it.
It was not a good game compared to the ton of great games the system had to offer.
The sequel however, Super Wonder Boy in Monster Land, was on another level. A really good game, that I strongly recommend. Not sure it was any good on other platforms though. The graphics style on Sega looked terrible compared to the way they went with the C64 version.

I like Simon's Quest, no doubt from a nostalgic point of view.

I remember as a kid returning the cartridge for repair, as I figured it must have contained an error. Eventually it was just a matter of crouching down for 10 long seconds holding an orb in front of a dead wall with no signs at all. Silly me... why didn't I think of such an "obvious" approach. Gaming today with internet and all that... it's hardly gaming at all, is it?

@ermzzz
You could say that about any game. There's always one person, who might find it useful. But is one enough? No.
There are too many games on this system. Therefore you should only review games which hold at least some form of interest by the masses. If there ever was a great excuse to defend why the majority of games receives an 8 on this site, it's because Nintendolife actively choose to review the better games available, ignoring games nobody cares about, which they should. It's a sensible thing to do.
Would you care to see a review of Windstorm? I think not.

Re: Nintendo Download: 2nd May (Europe)

I don't get all the love for FF12. Of all the FF games I think maybe only FF15 was worse in my own humble opinion. My thoughts are mostly based on how much meat is in the story and antagonist.

The original D/Generation on AmigaCD32 was pretty cool.

Does anyone know if these two new games are any good? If yes, which one should you go with? The new original... or the new new?

Re: Super Rare Games Announces A Handful Of Physical Releases For Nintendo Switch

Aneira

Yeah well. It's not impossible that a game eventually gets pulled from the eshop. It has happened for plenty of games during the Xbox Live Arcade era. So it's not 100% safe just to keep waiting for a hypothetical physical release.

I hope this comment does not cause panic to those with FOMO. It's a pain buying every game twice, which seems to be the case in this time and era for those of us preferring physical games.

Re: Review: Bomb Chicken (Switch eShop)

What you said about limited run is purely wrong. It's easy to get physical games. They are not printed in a limited number forcing you to act quick. They are open for pre-orders for usually at least two weeks. During that timeframe the quantity are unlimited.

Re: Review: Xenon Racer - A Spluttering Speed-Fest That Lags Well Behind Its PS4 And Xbox One Siblings

To be honest I think the game is poor on other platforms as well. Not in terms of appearance. It just does not seem a good racing game is all. The handling and the way the cars drift and turns is below par compared to a ton of other racing games past or present.

I'd much rather dust of the ol' Gamecube. So many great racing games on that platform. And if you're going to the basement in the first place, why not grab the Dreamcast to satisfy that racing itch while you're at it?
