Did they silently change the range of the NFC reader on the j`Joy-con and/or the Pro Controller? I've tried so hard to scan the Shovel Knight amiibos in their boxes without success because the amiibos are too far away from the reader inside the boxes. And no, the SK amiibos don't have the NFC blocker tags inside the boxes either.
Not gonna support the decision to cast a transphobic, and otherwise problematic actor to voice act one of - if not THE most iconic video game character on the silver screen.
I get what @Yosher is saying because this is part of the bigger problem which is the artificial limitation of a phone's life.
We should focus on sustainability but when phone manufacturers keep releasing new models almost every year, only a couple of years old phones become obsolete as apps stop working on them.
@Kriven Yes, I am aware that gender is not sex. However, when people refer to them as "she" or "he" they add an assumption of sex/gender on a character that does not have one. There are non-gender specific pronouns one could use as well.
@rjejr They aren't actually nonsense noises. Each letter corresponds to a certain sound which results in the speech. You can actually make out some of the words if you listen closely!
@kepsux I don't know of any game that is without issues so I guess no game is perfect by that standard. To me it's a matter of if those issues outweigh the things that make it great.
I absolutely love Kid Icarus: Uprising and still think it's one of the best games on the 3DS and definitely a 10/10. I had personally no trouble with the control scheme and actually found it easy to use after getting accustomed to it quickly. It did not make the game unenjoyable for me at all.
I agree with you on Skyward Sword in that it's too repetitive and for me the control scheme killed it. Took me a couple of years to get back to it after being unable to beat the first dungeon because of the motion controls. But I wouldn't say linearity is a flaw or the fact that it wasn't HD since the console it came out on wasn't HD either.
The headline made me think you had compiled a list of the best starters from each gen, as in which of the three starters in each generation is the best.
And now I'm disappointed as that would have been far more interesting of a poll considering the fact that the results of this poll didn't surprise me one bit. Oh well.
Weren't all of these pieces of "news" already known for quite some time? Having this article pop-up in my RSS feed multiple times because of "new information" added to the story gets tiresome.
How fun is it that the US got Cadence of Hyrule on sale because of the Game Awards but Europe didn't? I was hoping for seeing it on Christmas sale but nope.
@Masticore It's actually not. Scandinavia is Norway, Sweden, and Denmark. It's both a cultural region as well as a geographical one as it refers to the peninsula, the mountain range and the history and culture of the countries. Finland is a special case considering we have a shared culture with both Sweden and Russia, having been part of the latter for a while after the Swedish reign was ended.
If you want to include Finland to the mix, the proper term is Fennoscandia (the area covering the Scandinavian peninsula, Finland, and the Kola peninsula is called the Fennoscandian Shield), and if you want to include Finland, Iceland, and the sovereign regions controlled by the countries, it's called the Nordic.
Haven't played as him yet and his inclusion isn't enough to make me go back to the game either. I will at some point but we'll see when that'll be since Luigi's Mansion 3 and soon Pokémon will be taking all my time.
@Ralizah I'm not a developer but if I was I most likely wouldn't add in HD rumble feature when a new console model has already ditched it - or made it a hassle to use. Too much effort into a feature only one portion of the audience is going to experience. Regular rumble is a different case.
Switch Lite may not be negatively impacting the sales of the original system but I fear that it will in other ways.
Remember when 2DS first came out? It came without 3D support and a closable lid. This resulted in Nintendo - and other developers - ditching 3D features from their games and made it impossible for Hotel Dusk-esque use of the lid for puzzles. There was going to be games that could only be played in 3D but due to the new system ditching the feature, it became a bigger risk.
I fear the same will happen with the Switch's HD rumble and Labo style creativity. Why include a function like the HD rumble in the first place if you're just going to remove it two years later and thus make it unattractive to developers to use?
My Wii has a problem where it fails to launch software randomly. Other times there was no problems but most of the time I would have to restart the console for it to launch any game.
My original 3DS had the joystick give out in the end but that was due to too much Smash Bros.
I have never owned an XBox because the exclusives have never interested me in the same way Nintendo and PlayStation exclusives have. I've always seen XBox as a FPS shooter playground instead of offering unique and interesting gaming experiences. Moves like this make me reconsider my thoughts even if I'm not jumping on the XBox wagon any time soon.
I hope this means they'll be letting the player have more control over where new villagers are moving in. I remember using the reset-move strategy to get my new villagers move into the spots I wanted before they made them unable to move on paths in that one update.
I enjoyed playing it for a bit back in the day but got bored with it fast. Did they ever release new maps for the game or were they always the same two they had at launch?
The only game on my Switch that has crashed - and always crashes at the same point, rendering the game unplayable, is Resident Evil Revelations 2. =_="
"Nogami-san's choices include the obvious options like the 80 new challenges and the expansion's new story elements, but there are some other more surprising picks, too."
So that's music, being able to play as an octoling in multiplayer as well as replay value? I don't really consider those so surprising, especially since being able to play as an octoling was heavily advertised when the DLC first came out.
It's also interesting that they made this video now, half a year after the release of the expansion.
While I'm a little disappointed by the fact that I won't be able to play the game this year, I'm proud of Nintendo for admitting that what they have done so far is not up to the standards and that they are starting from the beginning again.
To top it off, the inclusion of Retro Studios just makes me happy.

If so, this is great news.

Re: Random: Sakurai Doesn't Appreciate Being Featured In Some Memes
Sad to see comments that are basically like "He doesn't want to be in memes? LOL, that's a meme" here.
He's asking people take his feelings into consideration. That's not doing it. Give him a break.
Re: Community: What Was Your First Ever Nintendo Game?
"Mediocrity vs Mediocrity vs Zelda"
Well that's a funny thing to call the Super Mario All-Stars + Super Mario World cartridge on the SNES.
Though ok I did play Duck Hunt on NES at my cousins' before we got a SNES.

My bad.

Re: Random: Meet The World's First Legitimate "Bellionaire" In Animal Crossing
I remember using Tortimer Island in New Leaf to farm expensive bugs for a few months to get over 100,000,000 bells for that one badge.
Took some terraforming, planning and countless runs between the island and Re-Tail. I like to think it was worth it.

Interesting story though.
