Re: Get Ready for a Pokémon Direct on 6th June

I don't want to sound douchy, but to all those who say "Nintendo has always done this", "Nintendo has always done that", please remember that the things you mention mostly or entirely happened when Iwata was still president.
Iwata was a good man, a great programmer and a dreamer, he had incredible intuitions like DS and Wii, but he was no businessman. Kimishima, though, is, and I don't think we can expect Nintendo to behave as they've always done with this new president. Whether this will be a good or a bad thing is still not completely clear, but the marketing for Switch speaks volumes, according to me.
I really hope for a mainline game for Switch, but I'll probably take whatever.

@MrGawain

A platform base of roughly 60 million units, which doesn't seem that small, now does it?
About the manufacturing costs: S/M was almost a disaster technically, with the 3D almost always off and the unstable framerate.
I hope these kind of profit make them develop the next games properly, at this point GF is just unjustifiable.

Re: By The Way, The Joy-Con Grip Bundled With Nintendo Switch Won't Charge Your Joy-Cons

First of all, I've preordered the Switch and I'm getting it day 1.
The thing I'm worried about, though, is that I'm afraid Nintendo spent money and invested in the "wrong" place.
What I mean is, the price of a console is not justified by CPU, GPU or RAM, but on the whole technology involved. Allowing us to play Breath of the Wild on the go for 3 hours is a feat in and on itself, but did they really need the HD Rumble?
I don't doubt that developing that technology cost money, but is THAT the feature they needed to invest in?
Just saying.

Re: Turns Out Nintendo Came Up With Metroid Prime's Most Compelling Feature

@Alshain01 Mh, I can understand the point but I can't say it bothered me much.
Having a strong but, how should I say, more "believable" character than a "I go in guns ablazin" girl did it for me.
I mean, I get she's a strong and fearless bounty hunter, but being stranded in space with every kind weird and dangerous creatures lurking around must be scary, no?
But yes, I get your point and it's fair for everyone to have their own opinion

To sum it up, I still have Prime Trilogy in my backlog, but I sure wouldn't turn down a sequel to it or an Other M 2!

Re: Weirdness: Homebrew Programmer Emulates a Macintosh Plus on 3DS

@NTELLIGENTMAN
This is starting to get old... Why do you think most music producers, artists etc use Mac computers instead of PCs?
Don't want to be the devil's advocate here, but what you pay is design, sturdiness, and the fact that their OS is made to work perfectly on the set of hardware they've chosen, as opposed to Windows, which has to work on an infinite number of hardware combinations.

Anyway, yeah, most things mankind has accomplished were made "because I can", can't see nothing wrong there

@Moon You've replied in an extremely calm way, which is surprising considering how unintentionally douchy my comment was, sorry about that, wasn't my intention.
Anyway, yeah it could've said that, but you know... 5 years is a long time in technology, as good as iPhones are, expecting a 4s to run new apps is kind of a stretch I'm afraid...

Re: Review: Pokémon GO (Mobile)

I wouldn't even say it's fair to give this game a score, really.
This game got me and my colleague (who's actually more of a friend ) to walk 1 hour both last Saturday and Sunday.
This game got me to start running yesterday evening about 3 km, and another 3 tonight.
This game lets me catch Pokémon WHILE doing physical exercise and seeing parts of my town I'd never seen before.
All the while competing with my colleague to see who gets that Pokémon first or raises their CP higher.
We've been stopped by an American girl (we are in Italy, near the base of Aviano) on Friday, who gave us a few tips about the game, and by countless other random guys playing.
This game doesn't even deserve a score, it's a wonderful experience and it's pure Nintendo philosophy in all of its social aspects.
Yes, I'm in love with this.

Re: Evidence of a Functional 3DS Flashcard Emerges

Hope this gets blocked immediately by Nintendo.
Also, I still can't understand why most people would never steal a car, or a wallet, or whatever, but doesn't feel the same way about pirating games.
It's clearly the same, both from a legal and a moral point of view.

EDIT: also, having downloadable retail games on the eShop is already a way of doing what people claimed flashcarts were usd for.

@Marshi As far as I know, the two Oracles are widely regarded among the very best Zelda games, and most probably the best handheld games in the series.
They're better than Link's Awakening, I'm told, and Link's Awakening is beautiful and it has aged really well.
