@IceEarthGuard it’s still a no 😆. I think it’s an age thing. I don’t follow, watch or even know any names of any streamers. I do understand your point on watching along with them, it’s just definitely not my thing.

@BigE you sort of answered your own question - for me it’s the convenience of going digital. Plus I just go for the two game vouchers that mean it’s effectively £42 instead of £50.

@Uska Microsoft is doing its own thing too on 12th so more likely to just be 3rd parties. Whatever it was you thought you could smell you might want to check the back of the fridge 😆

I really dislike roguelikes as a rule but gave this a go at the weekend on gamepass and am now well and truly addicted. Would highly recommend to anyone who’s not given it a go.

Really well written review. Played this over a weekend away and was utterly hooked. Enjoyed every minute.

@Heavyarms55 same here. The other half plays daily, apart from the day he first turned up so I didn’t speak to him. Not seen him at all since!

@LUIGITORNADO are you sure the PS4 didn’t beat XB1 out of the blocks due to how bad the initial messaging was from Microsoft (akin to the Wii U) and continued due to its exclusives, or lack of on the One? Or was it just that the PS4 was a bit more powerful?

@suikoden it took me about 8 hours and it’s pure quality. Personally I’d rather have 8 hours of Touryst than 20 hours of something of lower quality.

@ConanLives the next BIG game is Animal Crossing. Which should have been the Xmas game but got delayed.

So what’s the control scheme on this one? It’s ages since playing a Layton but I remember it being touchscreen.

Something from Shin’en would be good, it’s been a long time since they did anything new.

Joys and Cons are great idea for the reviews. Fingers crossed they don’t start to randomly drift and become annoying.

@Joe-b i know what you’re getting at and don’t fully disagree but ‘£240 plastic with padding’ gives the context against £40 for the cardboard. They’re two different beasts I guess and I can’t see me getting either for what it’s worth 😆

@SmaggTheSmug true, large industry events like this are used as glorified adverts. I’d still like to watch the presentation (Direct?) without knowing the big reveal at the end though. Let’s face it, Nintendo loves its ‘one more thing..’ reveals at the end of their Directs.

Do you have to spoil so much in your headline?! I’d rather not know about the rumours but to be told the main games in the headline I now know more than I wanted to. Or should I just avoid the site for a couple of weeks until it’s all over?

For me the review is a bit harsh. I thoroughly enjoyed it on Wii U. Some of the puzzles were hard but I don’t recall them being obtuse (I think I looked up one online).

And therein lies the problem: people could be reserving a space to play a port of the Wii U game! Cunning way to build up interest if it is just a port with a few more characters.

So the Neo Geo X was a handheld machine that had a special dock and could be played on the TV. What a silly idea!

Really enjoying it too. I’ve just about stopped flying in to the ground/water and killing myself every 2 minutes now! I put it on for 10 minutes the other night and an hour and a half later I realised the time.

He was (avoiding) answering a question about whether the success of the Switch was a surprise and stated that Nintendo constantly works on hardware and R&D. It was an odd/evasive answer but he finished saying that with a grin!

I just tried linking my Facebook account and had the same sort of thing. I ended up on my Facebook home page somehow!

The survey was conducted in Q1 this year, so assuming a reaonably consistent rate of completion most of them were done before the Switch was released.

I kind of think they might have a sky with the dock (and possibly pro controller) as the home console version and a sky without so you just have the portable. Ideal for families that want more than one portable for the kids.

So a few bits of news - FAST is getting DLC and Steamworld Heist will be out at the end of September if not before! Good news.

@Ralizah I've just read that too. I can't say I'd noticed this chasm of unrest but I'll be sure to watch out for it now someone has claimed it for truth!

The Amiibo symbol is against the game on the Japanese site too so possibly even more integration.

Nintendo are going out of their way not to refer to this as a 'direct'. So why call it one? Or is any video presentation from Nintendo now known as a direct?

@andrea987 I can't be 100% but I'd be amazed if it mattered where you saved the files. Mine will be going on to my external drive. Hmm, mental note, check storage on external hard drive!

@Action51 I played through the whole game single player and it's absolutely superb. I wouldn't worry that you won't be able to play multiplayer. Having said that when a friend came round a while back we tried it on multiplayer and it really changes the dynamic.

I'm not sure we can say Nintendo listened to the fans etc. The game wasn't out at the time of the patch - they've listened to the review media.

Only played one online match of 10 and had no problems at all. Was great fun and really competitive, loved it.

I don't usually comment much but the negativity based on such little information was winding me up and reminding me about the bad side of the Internet. It could just as easily be Shelly leaving out of frustration at Nintendo!

Anyway, hopefully the change will be good for all parties.

Loving the comments!! None of us know what budgets or tools anyone is given inside Nintendo. Let's also remember in those 18 years we also saw one of the peak periods with Wii and DS.

@MitchVogel ah ok, in that case I totally agree!!

I guess to be essential in a game it's either a specific mode or extra content, which makes them DLC. But then you have the cost of the figure AND the content to cover so in that respect I find it difficult to see that they will be good value extras.

@MitchVogel I agree there hasn't been a game that makes them 'essential' but I do think it's difficult to deny they've been a sales success. If 10.5m isn't successful, what is?
