eShop horrors await!

Renegade Kid’s Jools Watsham revealed not so long ago that his company had regained control of the Dementium brand, and that he had plans for the series moving forward.

Speaking to Twitch channel Vinesauce, Watsham has now delivered more details on the proposed revival of the survival horror franchise. The first game in the series will be getting an enhanced re-release on the 3DS eShop, boasting 60fps visuals and full auto-stereoscopic 3D support.

Renegade Kid is also planning to tidy up elements of the game, including the removal of constantly respawning foes and unfair checkpoints. However, Watsham explained that he is aware that existing fans like the "brutal" nature of the original game, so there may be the chance to retain these features in a "hardcore" mode.

Assuming Dementium is a success on the eShop, we may also see the sequel get the same treatment — as well as an entirely new third game, although Watsham is keen to stress that the latter isn't going to happen "any time soon".

Dementium is expected to arrive in Q2 of next year. Will you be investing in this download? Let us know by posting a comment.
