Siiiggghhh... It's a bad business decision to release a game on a platform that hasn't been selling well, but at the same time it's a good business decision to plan on releasing a game on two systems that aren't even out yet and could sell just as badly. Makes perfect sense.

I'll be trying to tell myself that I only need one new game and to wait for Animal Crossing, and that when I get Donkey Kong I want a physical copy, but I won't be surprised if I finally break down and just download the thing. So we'll have to wait and see on that one.

I'm actually surprised by how little it's sold, considering the hype around it. Hopefully with the new digital platform titles will be relevant for the whole lifespan of the system and games will get chances later down the line. Nintendo should definitely start discounting after a game is a few years old.

The only thing I needed help with was getting into morph ball mode. Yeah, I felt pretty stupid; I was stuck in that room for a good five minutes. For some reason pressing down twice just did not click as a possible command in my head.

Really, REALLY disappointed with the RE:R demo. The controls are absolutely terrible. I was happy that the game was coming to the masses and Capcom could finally get an idea of the kind of RE game the fans want, but with aiming this terrible I don't think it will do particularly well at all. I mean, it's practically unplayable to me.

I refuse to buy episodic games on principal. I was incredibly excited when I heard the news of this game, but I'm not paying for it until I can get it all in one package.

But really it's not even going to get funded, so I don't know why I'm bothering to think about it... XP

You know you have an awesome game on your hands when the gameplay videos blow everyone away, but when you tie it all into a trailer it just looks like a boring old action game or movie. Usually it's the opposite; the trailer tricks you into thinking it's awesome and it turns out to be not nearly as exciting.

It's just not worth the price in my opinion. Maybe five bucks for the whole package, or a buck a piece or something. But who's going to pay for these tours and just watch them over and over again? It's really not that fun or interesting. I had my fill after two plays of the demo.

Now that I've read this, there's absolutely no chance I'll buy it until I can get it cheap. I know some people don't mind a short game, but I'm just not like that. Games cost a lot of money, and I need the experience to be appropriate for the price. If I can buy a game for $10 or $15 and get 10 hours out of it, I expect a whole lot more than that from a $60 game.

And the problem with replayability is that devs are almost always lying when they say their game has a lot of it. Adding a hard mode does not always add 10 hours to a game. It's things like challenge modes and unlockables and whatnot that really add replayability. And unless I can happily plunk down upwards of 20 or 30 hours at the very least into this game, I'm not into paying full price for it. (In fact I don't normally pay full price for ANYTHING, opting to wait for a price drop, but that's not precisely the point.)

Duuude, I remember that game! I liked it a lot, but I never could beat it. By the time I'd bred what I wanted I couldn't even compete in the last area because I didn't want to take the time to grind all my stuff up. I had the best dragon monster, too!

@Ryno But that's because there's a limited supply of physical cartridges and shipping costs are also a factor. With digital copies the supply is basically unlimited, and the profit margin is basically 100%. They're completely different markets.

It used to be worth it to pay all that money because it was the only way to get those games. Now it's just not true.

@Five-seveN Yeah, I'm excited. I'm bummed that the whole atmosphere thing might be a little lost on me seeing as I've heard about the beginning and the end so many times, but it's the gameplay that really matters! I've been meaning to play a 2D Metroid since the GBA titles came out. Hopefully they'll get released on the VC so I can play them too.

I concur, we need sales on those old titles. They can't still expect us to pay five bucks for an NES title. (Oh wait, I guess they can, because we still do.) With each generation the old stuff should get cheaper, in my opinion.

But you know what's funny? I really don't like old games that much. Everyone seems to like playing all these classics, but whenever I pick up an old game I usually end up getting frustrated by the difficulty and the lack of saving, and I know people liked how old games didn't "hold your hand," but I don't find it fun having absolutely no idea where to go or how to play the game. I also just don't tend to think they're very fun. They're incredibly simple and coupled with the fact that you've got to die and start all over after playing for an hour I find that I never have the patience or any sort of desire to continue. It was great back in the day, but now any kid with a computer can make the same thing, and when you strip away the nostalgia I don't see much of a point. There are obviously games that really are just great (Super Mario 3 comes to mind), but so many others...meh. But I realize this is really just me.

Anyone else feel this way? My friends are always like, "Aw, man, I just got Star Gradient Alpha Wolf 4 on my Neo Geo Pocket, it's super awesome!" And I'm just like, "Uh, I like Yoshi's Island... That's pretty old, right?"
