Re: Review: One Piece: Pirate Warriors 3 Deluxe Edition (Switch)

@The_Pixel_King It's definitely a close call! They're all three fantastic games — Hyrule Warriors sort of caught me by surprise with how much I enjoyed it (especially as not much of a Zelda fan), but Pirate Warriors 3 is honestly really similar in terms of quality. I think between those three I'd follow your gut with which art/character style you're feeling more, so if One Piece feels like the world you're in the mood for that'll be a perfect choice!

@Daftbomb There's a visual indicator for the beat on the bottom of the screen too, and it works great for that!

@chiptoon (and anyone else unsure if they'll dig the gameplay mix): There's actually a demo available on the Japanese eShop if you want to try it out!

@Rika_Yoshitake VOEZ has at least a few Miku songs in it in the meantime! =D

@gordjscott No button control in there now, and as far as I know no word on a specific date - but their post-launch support of VOEZ has been great, so hopefully this will follow similarly!

@Sir_Anthony Nope! The story’s really well done and it has the original cutscenes done with ink art - they’re beautiful! - just not the animated ones that were added in for the Vita version. Definitely just as impactful and even a bit more in keeping with the overall style of the game IMO!

@flightsaber Yes! Just off the top of my head I remember at least one song in Mandarin, "Undo"! (It's one of my favs!) If you're looking for any specific ones let me know and I can check! =)

Re: First Impressions: Traversing Titans in Xenoblade Chronicles 2

@FantasiaWHT Because I saw it in all its un-fuzzy glory at E3 =) And since you can switch between three blades on-the-fly, you've actually got 9 Arts (or 12, including specials) you can use at a time!

@gefflt Yes! At least for the dialogue in the area I played, the text that came up was in big speech bubbles in a generously sized font!

Re: First Impressions: Finding Our Way in Lost Sphear

@bolt05 The soundtrack even just in the demo I played was quite a bit more varied than Setsuna's! I say "piano-orchestral" just because it featured prominent piano along with the orchestra, but it's not Setsuna-style solo piano =)

@mystman12 Yeah! You'll def get to where you're using up the sprinkles (I did at least), and then your shaker capacity increases as you save more faces, so it's a nicely satisfying loop!

@ap0001 It's pretty generously sized, like a mid-size JRPG - ~40 hours or so!

By the way, if anyone's downloading the Player, I recommend checking out 'Academonic' by Jenni Lada from Michibiku! It's work-in-progress but super impressive, gives a good idea of the kind of things you can create, and she's documented making the game on the site so there are helpful tutorials for how to script a lot of the cool things you'll find in it!

Re: First Impressions: Showing our Hand in Culdcept Revolt on Nintendo 3DS

@ShadJV Not in any particular mechanics at all! I just meant, people who play board games and find Monopoly too simplistic shouldn't be scared away by the Monopoly comparison — the card component gives it a lot of strategy in the way that Eurogames (like Catan but also Dominion, Ticket to Ride, etc.) have! Def nothing specifically about it that's like Settlers!

Re: Review: Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse (3DS)

zipmon

@bkeswick I'd pick between those two totally based on what kind of feel you're going for - TMS if you're looking for something sunnier and more lighthearted, and Apocalypse if you're down for a darker ride! You can't go wrong though, they're both amazing!

@Hey-Cha-La Not at all, they're like Final Fantasies or Dragon Quests — totally independent stories!

Re: Review: The Legend of Legacy (3DS)

@NImH That's awesome! And thanks!! I definitely feel the same way about focusing on the great points in games — for a lot of games, a few shining points are all it takes for me to really enjoy myself! Glad you're enjoying LoL especially, it really clicked with me and I love the art and music too!

Re: Review: Sadame (3DS eShop)

@Spoony_Tech Nice! Samurai's definitely my fav assist too — I was using a Ninja assist for a while but then I realized I liked to keep a bit of distance for myself and let the AI be up close! =)

@CUBANEWYORKER My pleasure! Sorry it took so long! This year has been absolutely nuts for 3DS RPGs so far so I've had a full plate pretty much constantly — which is a great! =)

Re: Review: Sadame (3DS eShop)

@Spoony_Tech Oh man I can imagine! Dusk is hard enough for me haha! And yeah! I really appreciated the equipment needing level ups — that seemed like a good way to balance it so you were still getting perks from other files but without just breaking the game! I can totally see how you'd have 80 hours on this! Are you playing mostly with a certain character or bouncing around? I've been going with Rogue mostly, I love her weapon combo!

Re: Nintendo Download: 31st December (Europe)

Oh man, crossing my fingers 1080° and Wave Race make it to North America this week too - I was just playing 1080° in Wii Mode yesterday and thinking how much I'd love to play it with the Pro Controller! Perfect winter game! =)

@Spoony_Tech Thanks mate!! And I am - working on it as I type! =) Have you picked it up yet? (And enjoy the end of Persona Q!) ( ̄^ ̄)ゞ
