Re: Review: Drop Zone: Under Fire (WiiWare)

@V8_Ninja Definitely; the airbrake is on during that entire video, so it can get much faster than that!

Like @iphys mentioned it is quite a bit harder at full speed, especially with the twitchy shooting (which you can see in that video, as well), and there are definitely parts that would be impossible without the airbrake. For me, the fun's in learning the line with the airbrake on, and then going back and trying to rush through as fast as possible, just using the airbrake to help shoot down the force-field enemies and make really tough checkpoints. It helped a lot when I realized you could land on rooftops to get your bearings, too!

Re: Feature: The Bizarre History of Pokémon Technology

Man I still love my Pokéwalker! As cool as Pokémon Black & White were, after SoulSilver it really felt like a step back not being able to throw a Pokémon into my pocket every time I went for a walk. I've shipped the Pokéwalker across the Atlantic a few times too, and it's hilarious how many watts it gets in transit!

@stuffedmushroom Aww he totally looks like a Simba!! =D Mine's named Olivia but we call her Ollie. That's too cool!! Glad to see they both like Pokémon - Ollie's racked up quite a few watts for me on the PokéWalker by knocking it around the room when I'd leave it on my desk! =D

Re: Pikachu 3DS XL Coming to Europe "Later This Year"

Pikachu I would buy you a transatlantic ticket in a heartbeat! I hope they eventually do some fun editions of the regular 3DS - I carry mine in my pocket everywhere so I'm much more of an XS rather than XL person when it comes to handhelds.

Re: Review: Kirby's Dream Collection: Special Edition (Wii)

Great review Corbie!!

I'm loving this package! It just feels really well done, the book is fantastic, and I really appreciate Nintendo making sure all the games can be played with just the sideways Wiimote - no need to plug in the CC or GCN controller for Kirby 64!

Hoping you guys get this in Europe & down under ASAP!

Re: Wii U Price And Release Dates Confirmed

Woohoo!! What a day! =D

$300 sounds about right to me! I'm making my own white "Deluxe" bundle: basic 8gb/white console set, Nintendo Land, and the Gamepad cradle set. It's a weird move on Nintendo's part, splitting the colours up over the two configurations, but for me it's worth the extra ~$20 (forgoing the bundling savings on the Premium set) to get the colour I like.

With SD cards as cheap as they are these days, the 8gb doesn't seem much more restrictive than the 32gb, either. When you run out of room, pop 32 or 64 more gigs in there! =)

I'm getting excited for Miiverse's potential too - hope there're some community features so we can get together as a Nintendo Life tribe!

@atariman Oh, a 7 is a good score! Literally, it refers to "good" in our scoring policy. If you're excited about it I bet you'll enjoy it. Like I said, it doesn't last for too long, but is definitely fun while it does! =)

Re: Feature: 20 Years of Mario Kart

What a wonderful read! Mario Kart really is a phenomenal series. Also, I'm just now realizing how fantastic the GameCube era was for innovation and risk-taking with Nintendo's central franchises: Double Dash, Wind Waker, Super Mario Sunshine, StarFox Adventures, Metroid Prime, even Donkey Kong with Jungle Beat!

Re: Review: Abyss (DSiWare)

@rayword45 It took me one lazy day (playing off and on) to get to Mission 12, and some of the earlier levels took me way more tries than the later ones to clear! Personally speaking, I certainly felt like I got $2 worth of fun out of the game; but I know there are people who just prefer longer experiences, irrespective of price.

Re: Feature: In Defence of Super Mario Sunshine

Brilliant feature and a great read Jamie - you've inspired me to break out Sunshine again and start from scratch! It really is a wonderful game, and the Isle Delfino visual style and water effects really hold up well today!
