So glad this is coming out this holiday season vs sometime next year.

Developers are considering the Switch right now means they haven't even started developing, so it'll be 2 years minimum before we see most 3rd party games getting released simultaneously.

I will wait for Nintendo's official quarterly reports before passing judgement. Anything under 1M a month global is disappointing though. I'm expecting them to report 3-5M for the quarter.

My only disappointment is the absence of the virtual console. This is the perfect time to revisit the classics while there isn't many games to play.

Microsoft unveiled a black box, Sony didn't even try, so I think Nintendo won by default with a solid effort.

Metacritic score is disappointing to be honest, but after playing the demo, I'm totally sold on this game! There are many 90+ rated games I didn't enjoy, while there are 60~70 rated games that I absolutely fell in love with. So, don't trust the review scores out there.

As I've been saying, the Switch may be out selling the iPad.

@gatorboi352 This will sell millions of extra Switches, which ultimately means more third party support for you to choose from, so it's a win win!

I'm buying this game, sometimes review scores are over obsessed with how much the game costs.

@FGPackers yep nothing against Splatoon 2, it's a day 1 purchase as well for me.

@R4z0rGr1nd3r Everyone is underestimating the appeal of a powerful portable gaming machine like the Switch. There is a law of diminishing returns for everything, and graphics power past Xbox 360 / PS3 is not all that visible to the average gamer. But having BOTW/MK8 type games on the go is a dream come true for me.

@Caryslan Yep, especially when you consider it as a portable. If Nintendo 3DS/2DS still has momentum with those graphics, imagine how long of a lifecycle the Switch will have.

Isn't interesting that PS4 had nonstop AAA exclusives from January - March like it never has? Almost as if they were preparing for the Switch. Also, there were ridiculous PS4 bundle discounts (example: PS4 + UC4 + Controller = $250).

Lol, Switch may outsell the iPad going forward. Just some food for thought.

@Captain_Gonru The developers don't have the best track record so I am skeptical as well. I'm a huge basketball fan, so I am really hoping this game is good. As long as the Metacritic score is 70+ I'll get it.

@DanteSolablood $149 is just a starting point. They will eventually sell the system for $99. They probably can never sell the 3DS XL for that much.

I want Switch Rewards. It's my only Nintendo console currently.

To anyone that wanted to purchase the packs separately;

What makes you think they would be priced equally at $10 each? I'd say 90% of the content will be on the 2nd DLC. Also, the first DLC content has exceeded my expectations and it will give me reason to go for 100% completion.

Nintendo would do this themselves if they are ever going to do it.

Ghost Recon at #1? Mass Effect @3? Those games are "meh" at best.

@TbobB Yeah bro, screw all the bad reviews of Wii Sports, that game was non stop fun for years and it was the main reason the Wii became the best selling Nintendo home console.

Getting rid of TV capability is key in making the Switch smaller, because the fan would have to go as well. It will probably use a substantially underclocked X2 chip to achieve this fan less design in my opinion. Remember, corners have to be cut to make this affordable and small at the same.

@Gridatttack I think the Switch will get every major franchise twice because Nintendo has all their eggs in one basket.

7.2 million only??? That analysts needs to be fired. It already sold 2.4 in its first month! The holiday season + steady stream of games already announced practically guarantees 10m+ at this point. There is no way an open world Mario game doesn't sell this system. Also, if Pokémon Stars is released this year, the Switch won't be in stock anywhere until the March of 2018.

They were smart to have this game out well before mk8, unlike redout which will probably get overlooked now.

If there is any game that needs to be pushed with a bundle it should be ARMS, it's a new IP, they have new joy cons to match, and it technically is the first exclusive AAA tittle for the Switch. So, they can't afford for it to fail.

@CRhodes Thanks for the info. From what you are saying the Switch version may be headed down the same path as the other console versions. Guess it's PC or nothing for this one.

Sonic Mania = Day 1 purchase, Sonic Forces though may be another story. Hope my intuition is wrong and both games are home runs.

I just did a quick metacritic search on the original PayDay 2 for PC, and it isn't rated very high (around low 70s). Hope it isn't one of those lazy ports. I already feel a bit burned by my Lego City Undercover purchase, which in my opinion is the definition of a lazy port. Even the cartridge box was pathetic, with no artwork inside, and misprints on the outside like the 13GB download warning.

ARMS is later than I expected, but splatoon 2 is sooner, but most importantly they both look great. I'll pickup both.
