I was a major doubter on cloud gaming, but one of the first things I did when I upgraded to my new shiny gigabit connection (verizon was practically giving it away - renewing my old 75/75 plan would have cost me MORE money than switching to the gig one) , was take advantage of the GFN beta access that came with my shield. It works... really really well.
Torment is an absolute gem and anyone who has never played it should do themselves a favor. From that general timeframe its holy trinity for me with Deus ex and KOTOR. That good.
Edie got short shrift on deployments from me a lot because unless I was being forced to take her, tank that can't move very well was not the most useful choice in a lot of maps. Dorothea (dancer) and Petra (wyvern lord) both got a LOT of use, as did my horseback archers (bernadetta, ignatz and shamir)
Battletech Center was the premiere mech game experience. They had a VR expo in Boston in the early 90's with a dozen pods as an exhibit, and a few of us spent every penny and minute of free time we could scrounge there until the expo was over. Memories!
Not a piece of Nintendo kit, but that absurd steel battalion controller for the original Xbox was one of the most ridiculous peripherals ever. When they first started showing it online it had me hankering for the early 90s battletech pods I spent way too much time in. Too bad the game was nowhere near as fun!
NSLU was some of the most fun I've had with a Mario game in years. Some real nail biter levels in there, without the dumb "ride the rocket" levels of DKC that make me want to pitch my controller out a window.
it looks like they cribbed the environmental assets straight from BOTW, but the gameplay is totally different looking. having a hissy fit over it seems pretty dumb though
@cammy the account limitation they should fix for sure. as long as the account is on the console, and you're online, it should allow anybody to play/save games.
@Rayquaza2510 You can change which one is the "primary"' console , so you could set the new lite as the primary (allowing you to play without an internet connection) , and with the old one at home and always online as the secondary, it would be able to play also.
Hah. Brings back memories. My mom bought me #3 for Christmas when I was in 5th grade because I had asked for police quest 2 and she thought the box looked too violent and had no idea what lsl was. That was an entertaining morning
@Xelha freaking curse. Then your union leader goes down and you have to wait for the rest of them to get slaughtered for a resurrection. Luck of the draw!
I'm really surprised to see the 5 honestly, because I feel like this site has a tendency to inflate scores. This game was broken in a lot of ways on initial release, and I gave it up because of that, but I've been playing through it on my switch for the past week now and really enjoying it. It's not amazing, but it does enough things well , and I like the battle/progression system. Solid 7 in my opinion.
@Ralizah I liked my unbroken streak of stone awards when I finished. It's like when you die a few times in Mario u and the Luigi assist box appears like yeah thanks game I know I suck at this
" For example, after killing an animal why does the player need to watch the same boring animation of Arthur skinning the animal?"
Because now the box can advertise 20 extra hours of gameplay if you have to sit through crap like that every time. It's like the FF games that made you watch 3 minute long summon videos every single time you used them.
@Kalmaro that's the case for literally every piece of media you purchase, but that doesn't change your right to make backup copies of the media you have purchased a license to.
@Kalmaro It's settled law in the US that backing up something you've purchased is perfectly legal. It's not really relevant whether nintendo "likes" or "supports" this
@Pod - To a huge company like that, this guy is just a liability waiting to happen. Their overriding concern is "make sure the shareholders are still getting good value" and literally zero else.
Give me a break. It's not his IP anymore, he sold it. That's how property works - when you dispose of it , it's not yours anymore. And why would they want to invite a legal liability to their party so he can cause workplace problems? Im sure McAffee doesn't invite John to events because he's a kook now too.
@MrBlacky Muzak is a term for bland inane background music that is completely devoid of any character like the stuff that's always on in hotel lobbys, elevators, etc.
Edit: It's actually a brand name for a company that used to produce it, which I never knew. I guess it just became a generic term like "kleenex" , "xerox" , and to my parents when I was a kid playing genesis - "Nintendo"

@Kalmaro Of course yes, that's why it's a backup. If you don't own it then it's an illegal copy.

@Kalmaro it's part of fair use case law, not legislation.
