@WeLiveInASociety The third movie will be broken up into two films with each having a running time of 1hr and 15 minutes. That way they can charge you twice for the single experience. Also, Sonic will revert back to his original look in the trailer for the first film.
@appleseedeon Hey accidents happen. Someone was playing Advanced Wars Reboot and that game is still not out. It was 1 in a million case if that did happen to you.
@FatWormBlowsASparky The only thing you missed out on is hand cramps. Too bad Nintendo just didn't give the original Gameboy Advance an updated screen. That system had the best should buttons. That got worse with GBA SP and then GBA Micro.
@BulkSlash I really disliked the buttons on the Micro compared to the Gameboy Advance. They were just super mushy and you had to press them in so hard. Anyways, I can recommend Nintendo Pro Controller. You can't actually make the Joy-Con buttons any bigger without ruining their functionallity. They are actually sized and spaced exactly like a D-pad. They COULD have made the buttons bigger on the Switch Lite though.Thar could have been interesting.
Ah! The ambassador's program! My 10 free NES and 10 free GBA games. Great slection of games too. Only problem is that I had almost all of these games already! I sold my DS, but I still had my Gameboy Advance and all my games. I actually wound up getting rid of my 3DS not long after that price drop. A couple of reason, the launch title games were WEAK! Next, the price of handheld games went up to $40. Third, smartphone gaming was really taking off. I was playing a lot of fun games on phone that cost me $0.99 and I enjoyed more the $40 dollar games. Fourth, the super disappointing battery life. And five, this thing really needed TWO analog sticks. Final thoughts, the Ambassador program did include some really great titles. If Nintendo hadn't made the Switch, the higher and higher cost of production for handheld games would have forced their hand. And third, I don't have the 3DS anymore, but darn it, I still have my Gameboy Advance and all the games.
@appleseedeon Wait a second. You must be misremembering. The price drop was announced and THEN the ambassador program was announced. ONLY those people that had already purchased the 3DS at $249 could get those games. (It was linked thru your Nintendo account when you purchased it.) Those games were never met available to anyone else, never sold separately, and never given out to anyone that bought a system at $169. I had some people wanting to buy my 3DS because of it, BUT that would mean also giving them access to my account. So I never sold it. Anyways, there wasn't anyway to aquire these games after the fact, so you must have purchased it before the announcement.
@HalBailman Yeah, I was confused by that too. I think he was referring to the hardware that already shipped and was marked for $249. If they lowered the price to $229 some retailers might just have kept selling it at $249 and keeping the difference. BUT by dropping the price to $169, no retailer would be able to keep the price high. I think that's what he meant. Even though that's not exactly what he said.
I regret purchasing the Gameboy Micro. It's worst trait actually wasn't the small screen. Reggie actually mentions the issue: it was the buttons. They were of the "mushy" variety and really need to be pressed hard to get an input. This lead to some presses not registering which is really unacceptable in any gaming environment.
Yeah, as someone else commented. Super Mario maker let you play a random level before the game even began. I still play these despite myself. "I'll just play it for a second." Proceeds to beat entire level.
@GrailUK Yep, this was what I was going to say. My favorite part was that the "ending credits game" actually tracked how many bananas you collected and then you would earn a nickname, usually simian based, depending on how many you collected.
Nintendo should re-release Four Swords for free as part of the Expansion Pass. I mean the DLC is nice, but we should get at least one game a year. The base package got Tetris 99, PacMan 99, and Mario 35. Not many,.somewhat similar, but all bangers! Some suggestions would be Four Swords, Super Mario Run, and Mario Galaxy 2.
Well that was very big of you. I appreciate this response. Disagreements can be disagreements without turning ugly.or personal. I'm sure we will be hearing more about this issue in the future, and hopefully it doesn't get as big as the Joy-Con drift problem.
@johnvboy I never said it was a widespread. And that why you lose the argument. Don't make up lies about what I said. I said it was impossible to know for sure. You insist that it's not without AND you will not back down from that statement for some reason. You have no idea how many people are affected by this, you admit that, and then claim AGAIN that it's a minor issue instead of admitting that it's to early to know.
@johnvboy According to who?? You? You have zero knowledge about how many systems this affects. We still don't even really know how many consoles experience Joy-Con drift. In order for you to declare this a minor issue you would actually need to know if this is affecting 1% of systems 10% or 25% of systems? And NO ONE knows what the number is. Also think about this for one second, let's say it effects only 1% of consoles. That would be 1 million people having the issue. Would that still be minor? The point is no one knows just how many consoles are affected. So it's impossible to make blanket declarations. That's like saying, " I don't have cancer, so it MUST only be a minor health issue."
@koffing Now that I'm thinking about it...was this in reference to the Japanese Nintendo consoles not including pack-in games? Nintendo of America includes pack-in games, but I don't believe, for example, that the Famicom ever came packed with Super Mario Bros. So, in essence, when not looking through an American lens, they were right. Nintendo [of Japan] did not give away software for free. The Japanese hardware didn't include games.
Thanks for highlighting this game. After getting my OLED Switch I specifically purchased three games to play in portable mode: Limbo, Inside, and BadLand. Ori would probably look great too, but those three games just happened to have big sales at the OLED launch. Coincidence? Maybe. I'm going to check this game out for sure. Looks right up my alley.
@SteamEngenius LOL I never though about it that way. The Switch Lite is still interesting, even though it can't play a couple of games. Such as the recently released Switch Sports. I actually thought that Nintendo should do the opposite and release and even cheaper home console version of the Switch. Taking out the screen and the battery would make the Home Switch really cheap, maybe $150.
@johnvboy A none issue??? Ther is literally an entire article above this about the issue. I haven't ever experienced Joy-Con drift, but I don't go around saying it isn't an issue. When you see playing Mario Kart 8 online and the screen goes black for 5 seconds and you fall out the race course, yeah it's a real issue. It's a real problem.
Ah! MegaMan 1....the original Dark Souls game. One of the hardest achievements in gaming.
List (to start the conversation) of hardest games to beat:
3. MegaMan 1 (NES)
2. Ghosts n' Goblins (NES, Arcade)
1. High Noon Revolver (Switch) *[PC version is notably different, and to my knowledge, no gamer has ever beaten the Switch game]
@Caryslan I made the exact same rant that you did about Rondo of Blood. I was even harsher actually. (You can't find my take on it somewhere below yours.) I, personally, don't even think it's a good game. Comparing to it's contemporaries like Super Castlevania and Bloodlines makes sense. Those games are WAY more innovative with movesets, level design, enemies and boss fights. There are memorable things in those games. Whats a stand out moment from Rondo of Blood? The game should be at the bottom of the list or at least near the bottom.
@Zimon That makes some sense, but you shouldn't have to do that either. The reason I know it's the AC adapter that's the problem is because I was using the same TV, the same HDMI cable, and the same dock from the original Switch that I kept. I only thing I changed was the AC adapter the OLED model came wit and I started getting intermittent black outs. Had the original Switch for years and never had that problem. I actually already had a third party AC adapter around, but was reluctant to use it. (I was using it to charge the Switch while in handheld mode.) Anyways, I plugged it into the Switch and the problem disappeared. And it was the only thing I changed. This has to be where the problem originates. Even if you, luckily, found another work around.
@blindsquarel Wufl Den has a follow up video where he now recommends third party docks. The video you are referring to was accurate at the time, but not anymore. I have been using a third party AC adapter now for quite some time. The main issue was using a USB to USB-C adapter cord. I recommend getting an AC adapter with non-detachable cord, so basically another brick style cord . The Switch also uses USB-C PD which is not the same as USB-C. USB-C PD regulates the voltage matching it with the device that is attached. The market was already full of normal USB-C cable and people thought they could just use what they already had laying around which is not the case. I recommend that you watch the updated Wulff Den video on third party docks for further reference.
PLEASE READ IMPORTANT That's NOT it!! I actually know what the problem is. Most people think it's their TV, the HDMI Cable, the new Dock, damage to the USB-C port, or the console getting over heated. IT IS NONE IF THOSE THINGS. The problem is the AC adapter. Replace it with a 3rd party adapter that is rated for at least 65 Watts and has, (this is extremely important), a PD (power delivery management) cable. It will be labeled as USB-C PD.
This issue is also not limited to the OLED model but affects regular Switch too. I got suspicious when I noticed that the OLED model for the AC adapter is labeled as "Version 002". I was like, "Why would they redesign the power adapter?" It was causing intermittent black outs. That's why. And they didn't even fix the issue really. Replace the adapter and problem solved. The temporary black outs will go away.
@Bearzilla823 Yeah! It was actually WORK transferring over games and save data. I think it took me almost a week and half to get my OLED set up. (I do have A LOT of digital games though.) You had to be particularly careful with Animal Crossing. (You need to KEEP you old system do this properly.) I was surprised Trials Rising doesn't let you transfer save data (only gear you unlocked transfers.) Luckily I was barely into it, but that is a game that people could have 60-100 hrs of gameplay on. Also, I didn't pick up Splatoon 2 until I got the OLED. Oh and don't forget the times that you had the game transfered, the save transfered, and then went to play the game portable somewhere and couldn't! Because some games required an online verification before you could start playing. Yeah, it took awile to setup.
@tzahn Hopefully, we get that collection of DS games. I think their is a good chance since the Castlevania Anniversary and Castlevania (Gameboy) Advanced collecting have sold extremely well on Switch.
I'm going to say something controversial and that maybe triggering to some, but truthful, Rondo of Blood is a completely boring Castlevania game and should be near the bottom of any list. Just looking at the game objectively: It introduces no new moveset to the character. The enemies in the game are cut and paste from previous entries. The level design is bland. Even the music, while high quality on CD, is actually forgettable. The ONLY interesting thing about the game is playing as Maria, a small child, that attacks with two doves. This attack is even more powerful than Ricther's whip and makes the game easier. The thing is while playing as Maria, is a little more fun, it doesn't feel like a Castlevania game anymore. I have no idea why this game is viewed so fondly, other than the fact that is wasn't available in America, and a weird mythology rose up around it. Seriously the hype around this game, in contrast to the experience of actually playing it, is gonna make you go "Huh?" If you are a Castlevania fan and actually play this game, you aren't missing out. Heck, even the maligned first GB game, introduced new enemies (rolling eyeballs), and new moves (fire whip). There is nothing of note to Rondo of Blood. Besides Maria, it's forgettable all the way around. Phew! I have been meaning to let that out for quite some time. LOL
@Deltarogue Smash Bros. uses peer-to-peer connection. Which means that any sluggish performance is due to one of the people you are in match with. I think a better solution would be to rate players Internet connection. And then give you the option to only match with same quality.
@Dman10 People who have played both say that the Wii version is superior. (Superior in this case meaning not better graphics but more fun to play.) The game can be fully played without motion controls, but that is a mistake. Playing with motion controls makes you feel like a Jedi. A Best Em Ups reviewer actually played the game without knowing there were motion controls and was gonna not recommend the game. But then discovered the motion control option and played it again. He said that this completely changed his opinion of the game.
@Burning_Spear LOL That was good. I mean think about this for second. A kid not even born yet buys a copy of Mario Kart 8, one of the best selling games of all time, because his Dad talked about it. The Switch eShop has long since closed but he buys a physical copy. He pop the cartridge in, and half the game is missing. The other 48 tracks released thru DLC was never included on the cartridge.
@Scrubicius I think the cloud is way more dangerous than an all digital future. MAME and emulators work just fine with digital files. But what if one never existed, and the game was ONLY ever made available thru the cloud?
@RupeeClock That is so cool. I wonder if there is any gaming scenario where that ratio might suit might be choosen by the director? Maybe some sort of single screen battle game like TowerFall? (Well maybe not THAT wide.)
@iLikeUrAttitude You can send your JoyCons to Nintendo and they will send you back brand new (not repaired!) JoyCons back. You can also buy a stick replacement kit on Amazon for about $15 (includes screw drivers and everything) if you would rather do it yourself.
P.S. I've never actually had JoyCon drift. From what I understand it is usually cause by debris getting under the membrane. Or a small piece of plastic breaking off from the stick itself.
@Scrubicius Is that right? What about games like Nintendo Switch Sports which won't even include all the sports that come later as DLC? You can buy Super Smash Bros. and it will be missing a ton of DLC. Games are released now with significant updates that are never placed into the retail cartridge. That's the issue.
@RupeeClock These appear to remakes too running on the retro engine. Most likely these are the iPad versions. The iPad has a natural 4:3 display and the Christian Whitehead remakes ran natively at 4:3 in them. I actually preferred these versions to the 16:9 remakes, so it's cool they are using them. (You can see the differences in the trailer, that these aren't running at original speed and frame rate.)
Let's actually do the math before we sorry for Square Enix. Triangle Strategy goes for $59.99. Nintendo takes a 30% cut. That leaves about $42 for profit per unit. So times 800,000.... That is 33.6 million dollars. How much did it cost to make the game? 10 million? 15 million? Yeah, I think they will be fine.
@UltraZelda64 The 4:3 Classic Mode Sonic games are also Christian Whitehead Remasters! These come from the iPad release that has a native 4:3 screen. Those iPad versions are actually my favorite ones. The game just feels better in 4:3 in my opinion.
@Angelic_Lapras_King I think we will see Sonic 1 on NSO sooner rather than later. Sonic Origins does NOT contain the original roms like most people think. The 4:3 Classic Mode is ALSO remade. (These are taken from the iPad remasters because the iPad has a 4:3 screen.)
@SonicTheHedgehogs Well you are not wrong. It's pretty much an expansion edition. Protip: Press "A" (or should I say "Y") at the start menu. Hidden menu comes up. Select rapid fire ON.
@Wyatt006 Wait. This actually kinda cute. You thought it was made up?? Anyways if you do play it: Go straight to the options menu and turn Sonic from SLOW to FAST. Much better game that way.
@Banjo- @Dimey I'm curious about that because it was ready remastered. On Sega CD it played in a tiny window, and the remaster brought it back to full screen. However, the colors of the video were still washed out. If all they did was touch up the paint I would be happy.

A Best Em Ups reviewer actually played the game without knowing there were motion controls and was gonna not recommend the game. But then discovered the motion control option and played it again. He said that this completely changed his opinion of the game.
Re: Switch Versions Of Sonic 1 And 2 Are Safe As SEGA Plans To Delist Classic Games
Re: Switch Versions Of Sonic 1 And 2 Are Safe As SEGA Plans To Delist Classic Games
@Scrubicius I think the cloud is way more dangerous than an all digital future. MAME and emulators work just fine with digital files. But what if one never existed, and the game was ONLY ever made available thru the cloud?
Re: Switch Versions Of Sonic 1 And 2 Are Safe As SEGA Plans To Delist Classic Games
@RupeeClock That is so cool. I wonder if there is any gaming scenario where that ratio might suit might be choosen by the director? Maybe some sort of single screen battle game like TowerFall? (Well maybe not THAT wide.)
Re: Japanese Charts: eBaseball Powerful Pro 2022 Is A Home Run As Kirby Slips To Third
This truly is shocking news! Konami still makes video games!?!!
On a side note, isn't it crazy that Switch OLED has higher lifetime sales than PS5? They came out at roughly the same time.
Re: Nintendo Shares Advice For Those Suffering Switch Battery Issues
@iLikeUrAttitude You can send your JoyCons to Nintendo and they will send you back brand new (not repaired!) JoyCons back. You can also buy a stick replacement kit on Amazon for about $15 (includes screw drivers and everything) if you would rather do it yourself.
P.S. I've never actually had JoyCon drift. From what I understand it is usually cause by debris getting under the membrane. Or a small piece of plastic breaking off from the stick itself.
Re: Switch Versions Of Sonic 1 And 2 Are Safe As SEGA Plans To Delist Classic Games
Re: Switch Versions Of Sonic 1 And 2 Are Safe As SEGA Plans To Delist Classic Games
Re: Where To Pre-Order Nintendo Switch Sports
@caseycockroach Yeah. It's the exact same one.
Re: Review: Pocky & Rocky Reshrined - A Thrilling New Interpretation Of A SNES Classic
The Western release is going to be slightly censored with some of the artwork featuring ladies with less skin showing.
Re: Kirby And The Forgotten Land Claims Third In March NPD Results
Let's actually do the math before we sorry for Square Enix. Triangle Strategy goes for $59.99. Nintendo takes a 30% cut. That leaves about $42 for profit per unit. So times 800,000.... That is 33.6 million dollars. How much did it cost to make the game? 10 million? 15 million? Yeah, I think they will be fine.
Re: Poll: Which Wii Sport Is The Best Wii Sport In Wii Sports (And Which Is The Worst)?
@RadioHedgeFund Ummm...I never thought to get into an actual line to do canoeing because it's not really necessary. Sound fun though.
Re: Gallery: Brand New Screenshots Of Sonic Origins, Out On Switch This June
@UltraZelda64 The 4:3 Classic Mode Sonic games are also Christian Whitehead Remasters! These come from the iPad release that has a native 4:3 screen. Those iPad versions are actually my favorite ones. The game just feels better in 4:3 in my opinion.
Re: Three Sega Genesis / Mega Drive Games Have Been Added To Switch Online's Expansion Pack
Re: Three Sega Genesis / Mega Drive Games Have Been Added To Switch Online's Expansion Pack
@SonicTheHedgehogs Well you are not wrong. It's pretty much an expansion edition. Protip: Press "A" (or should I say "Y") at the start menu. Hidden menu comes up. Select rapid fire ON.
Re: Three Sega Genesis / Mega Drive Games Have Been Added To Switch Online's Expansion Pack
@Wyatt006 Wait. This actually kinda cute. You thought it was made up?? Anyways if you do play it: Go straight to the options menu and turn Sonic from SLOW to FAST. Much better game that way.
Re: Every Nintendo Switch Online Sega Genesis / Mega Drive Game Ranked
@Wexter Isn't there already an HD remake on Switch?
Re: Gallery: Brand New Screenshots Of Sonic Origins, Out On Switch This June
@Banjo- @Dimey I'm curious about that because it was ready remastered. On Sega CD it played in a tiny window, and the remaster brought it back to full screen. However, the colors of the video were still washed out. If all they did was touch up the paint I would be happy.
Re: Gallery: Brand New Screenshots Of Sonic Origins, Out On Switch This June
@WanzerAce To me, the big selling point is Mission Mode.
