@Jukilum, @MrWalkieTalkie: It's a lot easier when the kid isn't constantly begging, though. My parents did the same with me and my siblings when we were little and constantly begging to go to Disney World, they told us that Mickey Mouse bites kids and that's why they couldn't take us anymore, lol. We stopped asking and moved on to other interests. When he grows up he might show interest of his own and eventually love Disney as you guys do, but for now, let Zodiak13's wallet relax :3
Wow. I hope the papers that were inside are enough to give the police some clues regarding who to track down and give a lesson on timing and public sensitivity. There are some things you just don't do... surely they could've waited a month or two to pull a publicity stunt like this?
@zoroarkrules25: It's easy to call the response 'overdramatic' after the package, box, suitcase, whatever been proven harmless. until that point, though, when things are so tense, there's no harm in being careful when lives are potentially at stake.
hey guys, do me a favor and knock it off with the profanity, the namecalling, and the general nastiness. I really don't want to have to come back into this thread and edit anything else out. you may have to agree to disagree on this one.
@XephHunter, Fusion14: Dead serious, since the two of you can't keep it civil, the argument ends now. You both have been warned.
@Metabble_King: You have no idea how often I and others have to sit back and hear someone try to weasel out of having been called out as a sexist. It is insulting to anyone's intelligence — man, woman, or whatever-you-choose-to-identify-as alike — to have to hear someone say these sorts of disgusting things and then try to explain 'nonono, i didn't mean it like that, don't be so oversensitive — what i meant was blah-blah-blah' like it's our fault for having taken a sexist statement at face value, and the explanation makes it all okay... it doesn't work like that at all.
If the reason you are defending this person is because you make these sorts of statements in front of or toward women and then explain it away with a wall of text, please do everyone a favor — own your sexism instead, learn from the mistake(s), and move on. there is no defense or excuse for this at all.
@Fusion14: hasn't Ash always been voiced by a female VA? and if you want to go that route, Pokemon has always been a silly kids' anime show. There's no reason to be so harsh.
@Metabble_King: So a statement has to be made toward multiple women before it can be sexist? And it has to be made by a man? That's ridiculous. Even if it was a 'jealous woman' as you propose, a woman can hold sexist opinions and beliefs about her gender just as easily as a man can about his own (e.g. the 'real man' and 'proper lady' stereotypes), and it doesn't have to be a blanket statement about the entire gender for it to be sexist versus one person.
you're right, motives are complicated. However, if the person who posted this had an honest-to-goodness problem with the professional qualifications of the lady in question, I'm sure they could have commented about that as opposed to laying into her for her physical appearance and whether or not she had a man behind her to bring her up in the world. The statement was sexist and disgusting, period, and it shouldn't have been said by anyone, much less someone speaking via one of Nintendo's official Twitter accounts.
i think the 'employee accident' is more plausible than a random hacker. how horrible for that woman to be on the receiving end of that disgusting message from an official company account — those of you asking how it's sexist, how on earth is going around calling women 'brainless (female dogs)' and accusing them of having a rich boyfriend to shell out for plastic surgery not sexist? for heaven's sake .
i suppose NoK has learned a very important lesson about being able to trust every single person you give the login information to your 'official' twitter account :/
hey guys, can we chill with this argument, please? last I checked the article at hand was about South Africa, not Thailand, the US, or anywhere else for that matter. Thanks in advance! :/
@LordGeovanni: The Capcom page as it stands has been edited to remove the information, but if you click through to the Siliconera.com link at the bottom of the article, they posted a screenshot of the page before it was edited.
i do agree that 34.99 seems more reasonable, but i'll admit i was more excited about it when i was still under the impression that it was actually discounted for the eShop. ah well!
I'm not sure about this... I mean, we all gotta eat, and this is the sort of family-feeding title that helps devs like WayForward ride through a bad patch until they can put out something truly awesome for us, the more savvy gaming consumer. i might be a bit hopeful, but i'm afraid i won't be holding my breath regarding any movie tie-in game no matter who's behind it, haha :3
@Nintenjoe64: sure, Anonymous has done good things like what you're describing, but bad things have also been done in their name... the problem is that, due to their inherent anonymity, there's no way to tell which 'Anonymous' is which, so they all get lumped together in the public eye. Anyone can stand up, claim to be a member of Anonymous, and no one knows the difference because it's impossible to tell.
anyway, i can't wait for this year's E3, and I'm eager to see what everyone has to bring to the table — Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo all. This kind of competition is great for the consumer. :3
anyway, i was wondering what happened to those guys — i knew about Cleary because he'd been re-arrested because he couldn't stay off Twitter, but the other ones I hadn't heard anything about.
@SirQuincealot: i don't mind sarah silverman in moderation, and i felt her voice was fitting for her character, but i remember being clueless as to why Vanellope's voice was so familiar until they hit that first 'doody' joke and it all kinda snapped into focus, lol. i wish they'd have left it out to be honest, it was a great movie and didn't need the toilet humor to get by. :3
@xinoeph: I understand that much — that comment was more directed toward the people whose comments I've had to modify or delete so far. Direct insults are not necessary and will not be tolerated. :3
anyway, i think it's cute. the head-tail doesn't bother me, kinda reminds me of a Twi'lek, only with one tail instead of two. and the feets are adorable~ :3
one part of me loves Monolith Soft to bits and doesn't mind Namco Bandai a bit (in fact, the Bandai part of that is pretty damn awesome, hello anime). the other part of me is still in 'boycott Capcom' mode because of a few things they've done lately that have pissed me off all to hell. I'm really torn on this one, support the ones I love or continue refusing to support a company I don't?
at least it's quasi-relevant with regard to the thing you're actually looking for in this case... idk the number of times i've gone looking for a book or something and wind up with a car seat, some random action figure, or other totally unrelated crap recommended to me by Amazon, lol.
@Hunter-D: I know actually dyeing eggs is messy business, but all they've asked you to do is 'decorate' one — paint it, glitterize it, tape feathers to it, sharpie all over it, anything. Don't count yourself out so quickly! :3
@McHaggis: they're advertising what sorts of facilities these products are going to be recycled at, though, not that your products have the potential to wind up in the hands of employees or on display in an office somewhere. they're also claiming that they can recycle technology of any age without a problem — and obviously there was a 'problem' here, they felt it necessary to keep an item from being recycled. Who's to say they won't do it again in the future when something else like this comes along? How long will these items be preserved, or will they wind up in a dump a few years from now? It's not recycling, it's not reusing, it's prolonging the life of an item intended by its owner to be remade into something else.
There are programs that will take old laptops, cell phones, etc. and so forth, refurbish them, and sell them or give them away in third-world countries. That doesn't bother me, because they're being straight-up regarding what's happening to the stuff I'm potentially giving them. With Best Buy, now I'm being potentially lied to when they're telling me my stuff will go to an R2 or e-Stewards certified recycling facility. It's false advertisement.
That said, I absolutely agree with you regarding the employee's interest. Anyone who knows the worth of that set would go nuts if they thought they could get it for free. I'm glad at least it's been kept by corporate, not him. :3
@Intrepid: And what happens when someone else comes and trades in something that a random employee really, really wants for their own purposes and thinks should be saved from being broken down and recycled? I think I'd like to be aware of the fact that my items might actually not wind up recycled as planned (on display in an office somewhere) before I participate in such a program. :/
@Void: How would that help him at all? If anything it's already put his store's LP on him with an eagle eye, just waiting for him to try and steal it — or worse yet, they're on the hunt for the thing that's been hidden in their warehouse now so that they can put it into the proper receptacle for these to-be-recycled items.
@sonicfan1373: actually, it was kinda already the basis for Toy Story 2, lol — dude from toy store steals Woody, dude from best buy steals R.O.B. :3
i'm with Peach64 — him taking it could absolutely land the company in hot water if the local newshound whistleblowers catch wind of Best Buy taking these items under the impression that their components will honestly be recycled and that's not what's done with them at all. If he feels the theft of this set is worth his job, by all means let him make good on his epic plans and deal with the legal repercussions afterward, but I for one can absolutely understand where his manager is coming from on this one, as well as the corporate policy he thinks is 'bad'.
also, if he really intended to steal the damn thing, telling the internet before that plan was enacted (or hell, even afterward when he could absolutely still be fired for having done it)? what a dumb thing to do.
Yay Luigi! The first time I think I ever really paid attention to him as a person instead of just the 'player 2' character or a different way of playing the game [SMB2 with his higher, floatier jump] was probably SMRPG. On Star Hill, you can go around looking at the fallen wish-stars from characters in the game, and one of them is Luigi's wish for him to become a great plumber 'like his brother Mario'... I remember the first time I played SMRPG and saw that wish, and I remember being sad that Luigi was never part of your in-game party. I remember he cameo'd in Paper Mario but wasn't playable then either.
Since I skipped the GC/GBA generation, that was the last I really saw of him as a person until Super Paper Mario. As boring as that game was overall, the highlight for me was definitely 'Mr. L', with Luigi flexing his personality muscles all over the place (even if it wasn't entirely his doing). Then I got my hands on a copy of Mario and Luigi: Partners in Time, which has a nod to Luigi with the Star Gate's test, I remember I found that quite touching.
I like that Luigi is seeing more exposure lately — the Luigi playthrough in SMG, for example, man oh man that was a great kick in the pants after having beaten the game with Mario. Some of those levels playing through as Luigi were incredibly challenging! I'm glad that trend has continued onto the 3DS with 3D Land and all. I do like Luigi's emotions and personality shining through in LM2: Dark Moon as well (the only thing turning me off about that game is the Professor, grr I want him to just leave Luigi alone and let me explore with him!), and I can't wait to see what Dream Team has to offer for everyone's favorite green-clad plumber :3

Hey guys, please, let's keep the comments focused on the article at hand. If you don't have anything to say about it, then please don't say anything. Thanks in advance! :3
hey guys, if y'all had trouble with that boss, I'd suggest borrowing a friend's copy of Rhythm Thief if possible, or maybe running through the RT eShop demo (if it's still up, or if you downloaded it previously) a few times. That bee fight really reminded me of some of the minigames in RT, it could help for you to practice that style a bit before trying the HarmoKnight demo again! :3
@spamineggs: the story of the bug? (edit: whoops, i was so wrong! thankfully i remembered i posted a topic long, long ago to warn people about it, haha, so this is c/p'd from there)
The first mission involving use of the LOLA (an in-game vehicle), it's pretty much a straight drive past some barriers and into a garage area with a platform large enough for you to park the LOLA on. DO NOT park on the platform! Later on (Chapter 6) you'll come to a point where you need to use the LOLA again, and if you parked on the platform (like I did), you'll go up to it and start to enter, but before you're fully inside a cut-scene will show the platform rising to the next area, where you will suddenly be LOLA-less and trapped, with no way to get back to the lower area.
Again, to avoid this glitch, park the LOLA elsewhere (just someplace not on the platform!). When you get to Chapter 6, enter the LOLA and then drive it onto the platform (don't get out, lol). That should get you through to the upper area complete with vehicle.
anyway, at the time that glitch came out, it was reported (by IGN) that they were working on an updated cartridge that would have a fix. i have no idea whether or not that actually happened, but just in case, don't park on the platform, haha :3
I would actually like a Moon sequel very much, especially if it delved more into the story. I remember being intrigued as I played, I'd love to have another experience like that (but without a game-killing bug like the one in Moon, please, i beg of you!)
Hey guys, please, piracy is piracy. This article has been posted under the impression that the ROMs being used have been dumped from your own personal collection, not downloaded off the internet. If we can steer clear of the personal anecdotes regarding how big a pirate you are (or aren't, but your friends/family/boss/coworkers/etc. are), we'd appreciate it. Thanks! :3
my point was that random people on internet forums whose only contribution to the games industry is throwing money at retailers and commenting on forums are not in any position to criticise people who have won awards for game design and produced even one massively popular game.
We at Nintendo Life have specifically asked for our users' feedback, whether agreeing with the man or disagreeing with him. If you have a problem with us asking for our users' opinions in the full knowledge that the vast majority of our userbase are not industry professionals, please take it up with Damo directly.

That bee fight really reminded me of some of the minigames in RT, it could help for you to practice that style a bit before trying the HarmoKnight demo again! :3
Re: Renegade Kid Open To Idea Of Moon Sequel
Re: Renegade Kid Open To Idea Of Moon Sequel
I would actually like a Moon sequel very much, especially if it delved more into the story. I remember being intrigued as I played, I'd love to have another experience like that (but without a game-killing bug like the one in Moon, please, i beg of you!)

@DarkCoolEdge: regarding RH completion, congratulations! definitely one of the best DS games for sure! :3
Re: Android-based Ouya Console Will Have NES and SNES Emulation At Launch
Hey guys, please, piracy is piracy. This article has been posted under the impression that the ROMs being used have been dumped from your own personal collection, not downloaded off the internet. If we can steer clear of the personal anecdotes regarding how big a pirate you are (or aren't, but your friends/family/boss/coworkers/etc. are), we'd appreciate it. Thanks! :3
Re: Fez Creator Believes Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate is More Suited To Vita
@Waltz:
my point was that random people on internet forums whose only contribution to the games industry is throwing money at retailers and commenting on forums are not in any position to criticise people who have won awards for game design and produced even one massively popular game.
