i know there's a GameStop on base here, and then there's four or five others around town as well as Target, Toys 'R' Us, Best Buy, Wal-Mart, etc. and so forth. Hopefully other military towns have plenty of options as well!
Hey guys, some of you may have noticed I've cleaned up this thread a bit. If we could all focus on the article at hand and not on each other, we'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance, and if anyone has any questions, our inboxes are open to you.
Forgive me, but I'm not seeing how 'Pokemon + Dubstep' sounds like something bad in the first place...? I don't think it's a 'terrible idea' in and of itself at all. I can't say as to how it's panned out here because I'm at work atm, and later on I may feel differently after having seen the execution of this video, but as it stands now I don't see what the big deal is about this having been a decent video to watch. Dubstep does not 'generally make things worse' for everyone, just the people who don't like it personally :/
@jsty3105: I'm fairly sure @eza knows how to get a legit backup copy for their games (and if not there's always Google). we're just commenting on how the video doesn't make mention of these important things at all in terms of legal game emulation :3
Hey guys (and @eza since you've asked): please keep comments about emulators unspecific, and leave the personal anecdotes at the door. We don't need people sharing advice or how-to's regarding specific emulators or discussing whether this will be able to run (insert game here) as it's not on topic. We also don't need people sharing how emulation has changed their gaming lives, and we especially don't care how big of a pirate you or your friend's sister's cousin's uncle's mother-in-law twice-removed are. Also, unrelated comments regarding R4 devices and Action Replays and the like are not kosher in this thread. These things are not on-topic and as such will be edited out.
In short, we're discussing Microsoft and the fact that one of their official Twitter accounts has apparently RT'd a video showcasing emulation (and possibly piracy, we have no idea where that ROM came from) as a 'feature' for their tablet device. Keep your comments on-topic and we'll be square. :3
@Tsuchinoko: from prior comments, @-KwB- seems to be referring to why the Wii U seems to be doing poorly in Japan's charts. I'm fairly sure that was an off-the-cuff expression of exasperation, not anything directed toward you personally.
this relay thing sounds really cool now — i like the idea of getting actual local miis on my 3DS this way, and it doesn't even have to be one-by-one. excellent move, Nintendo! and what's this about MK7 content? am i gonna hafta bust out my cartridge again?
@Bass_X0: It's a demo for a game I am not purchasing, so why bother? I've answered the question the article asked, and again, Capcom knows my reasoning — I've certainly been vocal about it enough over the past few months.
Pokemon, Zelda, Adventure Time, Bravely Default, oh my poor, poor wallet. i know you're crying, but it'll all be okay, i promise
@thesilverbrick: i know you're talking to that other person, but i for one would be thrilled to see Kirby going more back to his roots in this one. Mass Attack and Canvas Curse were both stretched a bit too far for me to be honest, and Epic Yarn didn't really interest me at all :3
@ActionMan: 'fair' or not, the people have spoken with their wallets, whatever the true reasons behind the lack of funding. Twice now it's gone unfunded, so it's probably a good idea to shelve it for a bit and revisit it later on.
anyway, if we could all please focus on the article at hand instead of delving into the realm of 'eviler than thou' human atrocity comparisons, we'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance, everyone!
I remember loving the hell out of this game when i picked it up for Wii VC. It was confusing at first, but I have no qualms consulting GameFAQs for games like this, and the story was more than engaging enough to make up for the occasional roadblock or missed clue here and there. My only disappointment was that I messed up and invited the wrong people to my town so I couldn't get the best equipment iirc... be careful who you're nice to in this game, haha!
To be honest, if you've ever played through Chrono Trigger or one of the SNES FF games, and if you've ever had experience with Konami's mid-90's game translations (Suikoden I and II, I'm looking squarely at you), you'll be more than able to get through this no problem. My only regret was not having played the first BoF game, my husband kept popping up to tell me who all the returning characters were and why they were there, lol — i wished i'd been able to play it for myself beforehand, but it's still a great game even on its own. :3
Hey there everyone, please keep our Community Rules in mind while posting here — we have always asked that explicit, vulgar and/or pornographic images not be posted here at Nintendo Life. Nothing has changed. This isn't the place to make lewd comments about what you'd personally do to a game character or to post and leer at skeezy pictures of game characters in compromising situations, so if that's the sort of thing you'd like to post and discuss, we ask that you take it elsewhere. Thanks in advance, and if you have any questions, our inboxes are open to you!
@rayword45, @sdcazares1980, @bezerker99: just to clear this all up, it was the Disney Afternoon, and it aired on the FOX affiliate where I grew up too. You had a good two hours or so of Disney cartoons right after the school bus dropped us off at home — Bonkers, Marsupilami, Timon & Pumbaa, Ducktales, Gargoyles, Darkwing Duck, TaleSpin, Rescue Rangers, etc. and so forth — all those shows were cycled in and out of the Disney Afternoon lineup.
And then after the Disney Afternoon was usually stuff like Spider-Man, X-Men, and Batman:TAS... awwwwww yeeeeeah. :3
@Capt_Charlie: With all due respect, if he were teaching me something or i was begging something from him, I might use 'sensei'. If I wanted to venerate him as some sort of god (as some here seem to be doing, which is whatev') I might use '-sama'. However, as a fellow human being on this earth who will someday join him (as well as the rest of you) in death, the term I chose today is '-san', and I'm going to stand by that. I'm not trying to honor him via a suffix, I'm merely acknowledging his status of personhood, if that makes any sense. I may as well have called him 'Mr. Yamauchi', the meaning would be the same.
@Bass_X0: You have no idea how amused I am that you're still so horribly wounded I (and others) won't be buying this game for various reasons. Please do keep complaining about us every chance you get!
i see people use styluses for their phones all the time. i could easily see someone using this sort of thing with a smartphone or tablet of some sort. i do think it's a bit silly if they're advertising them for a gaming device, but advertising them for a smartphone or tablet would be a good idea.
idk... after that first excited week of Theatrhythm i got sorta bored with it. a rhythm-based game i'd definitely be picking up day-one would be a sequel to Rhythm Thief, but this I'll probably pass on.
i'd certainly be willing to give a port of this a shot. my only reason for currently not being interested in Mn9 is because it's not coming to a console I own. :3
Hey guys, if we can stick to the article at hand when commenting from this point on, it'll be greatly appreciated. It's been derailed enough, so let's please concentrate on what poor Tom went through the trouble of writing out for us to discuss in the first place. Thanks in advance! :3
@Kirk: I propose that again, you are not psychic. I also propose that you give users the benefit of the doubt when they say they don't like your design.
@Kirk: If you're resorting to simply countering that people don't like your 'tweaked' version for the sole reason that it didn't come from Nintendo proper, it may be time to step away from the conversation. It's not fair to assume that people don't like your design for that reason alone, there are plenty of other reasons that we've been pointing out to you this entire time for why we don't like yours. :/
@Kirk: The important thing is that you're aware you have a problem with talking down to other people. That knowledge alone won't make everything better, but with it you can formulate some attainable goals re: learning how to speak to other users like human beings. Again, we're not mind-readers. You easily could edit your original post to explain all of this instead of having to go down the line and link user after user to your various explanations (which I'm still not happy with myself, but the point is moot by now since I've already explained I do not like your re-design as much as Nintendo's original).
I guess my main point was that you keep saying that you've improved their design, and I don't agree with you at all. I'm very interested in a 2DS as-is, though I'll hold off until they come out with an XL version and release some information regarding battery life. Yours I wouldn't spring for regardless, i'm afraid; I'd just stick to my plan to pick up a normal 3DS XL eventually if Nintendo had presented us with that as their 2DS design.
@Kirk: When your responses consist of 'you're seeing flaws that aren't there' and 'i know for a FACT that...', though, one does have to wonder why it was posted in the first place. I'm not sure why you're expecting us to read your mind for the rest of the 'tweaks' you were planning to apply later on (or had the ability to apply if necessary), lol; surely your own psychic powers (since you know exactly what i would say in a different hypothetical situation...? not sure I appreciate that sort of assumption) would have told you we're not psychic. :3
@Kirk: If you can't handle even gentle criticism like mine, next time I'd suggest not putting an unfinished design up for other users like myself to discuss publicly. I'm sorry, I appreciate the time you put into your mockup, I just don't like yours as much as Nintendo's own design in this case.
Hey guys, I'm going to ask nicely that we not go for each other's throats. It's okay to disagree, but we've had enough nastiness between each other over the past day or so and it's time that ended. Thanks in advance, I'd hate to have to start handing out enforced cool-downs over something so silly as something none of us have any control over whatsoever :3
That said, I will chime in to say that I'm not really a fan of your 'tweaked' design, Kirk. There's something about the screens that feels 'off' to me, i prefer having the top screen be a bit larger to help separate the two. Your design, it feels like i'm looking through a split window, there's not enough space between them. regarding the moved light, i prefer at least one forward (towards-me)-facing power light or indicator so that I can see it immediately when it goes red or starts flashing, i don't like being surprised when i move my hand to see that my 3DS has gone red, lol. The control placement i could go either way on, and i don't like menus when it comes to putting my 3DS into sleep mode or whatever — i'd rather have a separate button (the slider is a great idea IMO) to send it into sleep mode quickly, efficiently, and with no confusion over 'did i just shut it off or is it just in sleep mode' if you had planned to use a 'tap power button for sleep, hold for off' method.
oh, and i forgot to add — i saw someone else suggest that the slanted design would help the 2DS' screens be better visible while it was lying on a flat surface, and I do agree with that idea. i'll have to hold off final judgment about how i feel about it until i'm holding one in my hands, but i don't think making it a completely flat device would be the easiest for little hands to hold, either. most little-kid toys are chunky in some way or another.
The only good thing about a possible collaboration like this would be that Nintendo would definitely hold up their end of it, so we'd at least wind up with something after all the hype has come and gone — whether it be the original collaboration they worked on or whatever Nintendo comes up with to finish up their own hard work.
@jrob23: And there are others who would argue the opposite. Please, all I'm asking is that you keep the discussion in here civil and not go out of your way to pick a fight with members of our staff. If you disagree on one point or another, we welcome honest discussion, but not demands that someone leave. :3
@mamp: If you look at the image of the white and red 2DS, you can clearly see a 'sleep' slider down on the bottom right corner. Also, a 'childish design' for a handheld clearly meant for smaller children is nothing too surprising, is it? :3
@jrob23: Come on now, people have been going back and forth for quite a while now over whether or not the Wii U is truly a current-gen console. No need to get personal over it :3
Hey guys, knock it off with the personal jabs at one another, please. You all know who you are, and for the record, the person complaining about the original comment that set all this off did not in fact report the comment in question. all of you, please butt out of each other's business and get back to discussing the article at hand. Thanks in advance!
@Cohort: I've checked them out, and users @Kirk and @Hernandez are not the same person, if that's what you're trying to say with your comments here. If we could all discuss the article at hand in a civil manner, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance! :3

Re: Nintendo and Capcom to Announce Upcoming Collaboration
The only good thing about a possible collaboration like this would be that Nintendo would definitely hold up their end of it, so we'd at least wind up with something after all the hype has come and gone — whether it be the original collaboration they worked on or whatever Nintendo comes up with to finish up their own hard work.
Re: Reaction: Nintendo Surprises Us All With the 2DS and Wii U Price Cut
@jrob23: And there are others who would argue the opposite. Please, all I'm asking is that you keep the discussion in here civil and not go out of your way to pick a fight with members of our staff. If you disagree on one point or another, we welcome honest discussion, but not demands that someone leave. :3
Re: Say Hello To The Nintendo 2DS - A 3DS without 3D
@mamp: If you look at the image of the white and red 2DS, you can clearly see a 'sleep' slider down on the bottom right corner. Also, a 'childish design' for a handheld clearly meant for smaller children is nothing too surprising, is it? :3
Re: Reaction: Nintendo Surprises Us All With the 2DS and Wii U Price Cut
@jrob23: Come on now, people have been going back and forth for quite a while now over whether or not the Wii U is truly a current-gen console. No need to get personal over it :3
Re: Say Hello To The Nintendo 2DS - A 3DS without 3D
I'd actually be interested in this if the screens were larger than the original 3DS. guess i'll be waiting for a 2DS XL, lol :3
Re: Wii U Deluxe Model Gets Official $50 Price Cut in North America
Hey guys, knock it off with the personal jabs at one another, please. You all know who you are, and for the record, the person complaining about the original comment that set all this off did not in fact report the comment in question. all of you, please butt out of each other's business and get back to discussing the article at hand. Thanks in advance!
Re: The Wonderful 101 Misses the Top 20 in UK All-Format Charts
@Cohort: Cute, but it's not necessary to point that out, is it? Haters gonna hate. Let it go.
Re: The Wonderful 101 Misses the Top 20 in UK All-Format Charts
@Cohort: I've checked them out, and users @Kirk and @Hernandez are not the same person, if that's what you're trying to say with your comments here. If we could all discuss the article at hand in a civil manner, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance! :3
Re: Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Dual Destinies Will Not Be Getting A Boxed Copy in The West
@batmanfan3000: it's not 'weird', but thanks for painting us all with the same brush i guess...?
