Animal Crossing (physical only) has outsold every other game outside of FIFA and Call of Duty (both physical and digital) despite launching 8 months ago.

I'm sure if you add in the Nintendo digital sales, Animal Crossing would be #1 most weeks.

To the gaming websites, first to release a review always matter more than the quality of the review. Thus most reviews range from average to terrible.

Star Fox 2 never released on the SNES so it should not be on the list.

I see the Dragon Warrior (ie what the Dragon Quest games were renamed to) are not there. A shame that as many of us would easily have them in the top 50

The reasons that games and services are not available in Australia is 100% due to the tech companies involved, ie Google, Microsoft and others.

The internet speeds and bandwidth required as not as high as most people think. There are a lot of people in Australia who could use these services. However the tech companies said no to this.

If you are blaming anyone else like any government or any other group in Australia for this, well that proves you don't understand who really is reaponsible for this.

Innovation is occurring. By all big 3.
Sony and MS are pushing what is possible tech wise from a TV box style console.
Nintendo is pushing mobile hardware as well. To it's limits within it's price and thermal budgets.

Also
MS and Sony are pushing VR.
Whereas Nintendo is pushing different ways to experience your games. Not just sitting your ass on the couch.

Also if you think controller innovation is dead, you would be wrong.
Gyro aiming is a new thing and it has revolutionised many games and made them much more playable.
Also add in motion controls. The Wii had them but the Joycon have improved them so much.

The other new innovation is cloud game streaming.

This article is thinking based on what we have today and seeing what we have today as the logical endpoint. That's a very narrow minded way of thinking. We can't predict the future. New and amazing ways to play and experience games will be invented in the future. Ways we can't even imagine now.

The US E10+ is roughly similar to our PG
The US T is somewhere between our PG and M
Your M is mostly inline with our M but could also be considered an M+ in parts.
The US does not have a M15+ equivelant.
The US AO is equivelant to our R18+

When I say equivelant I mean roughly speaking so. As both systems don't exactly compare to each other.

Secondly the article you shared is an opinion piece. However it does have one of the complaints attached.

Thirdly, this UFC really just hate Nintendo and are using the legal system to empower this hatred.

Finally, the other court cases, which actually have merits, I am interested to see if/when they demand Nintendo release the actual data.

That way we will all know the facts about the situation.

Claiming the data is unfavourable to Nintendo because Nintendo has not released is pure speculation on your part. Just because the case has been ongoing for a while doesn't change this. Legal cases take a long time to be resolved. It's a marathon not a sprint.

I can't wait for the full facts of this to be released so arguements like this based on people's lack of information cease to exist.

Also it will put an end to the bandwagoning (hopefully) that is happening. I know of quote a few people who got off tha bandwagon and apologised for it. Sure anecodatal evidence but it's better than nothing. That way we can ignore all of them and just focus on the data (when it arrives).

Nintendo is doing the repairs to help stop the negative PR and also to help them in the legal action against them. Damage to their reputation is worth big Yen. Often companies will just do the repairs for this exact reason, not because it's a widespread issue.

You are ignoring the fact that actual hard data from the source hasn't been released (to my knowledge). You are taking random journalist polls as evidence.

What we need is the actual numbers from Nintendo. Hopefully the legal cases will bring these numbers to light. These numbers will put all the speculation (a lot of what you are saying) to rest.

Also if you want to get technical, widespread or not wideapread are both qualitative terms. You can spin either one to fit any arguement. Only quantitative information on this straight from the source (ie Nintendo) will tell us how many joycons are affected.

Your numbers don't match up with this. Not even close.
Also your IGN survey is 9000 people who "claimed" they have experienced joycon drift. We don't know how many of those 9K just jumped on the bandwagon.

The numbers we need are direct hardware repair numbers to know how many joycon were fixed and/or reported directly to Nintendo for repair. That number will be devoid of bandwagoners.

I stick by my evidence based opinion that the joycon drift issue is NOT widespread. It's an issue that needs to be addressed still.

Until official data is released on this that proves otherwise, that is my evidence based opinion.

The Switch does not have a wide spread issue such as this though. It's only a small issue. However many people not siffering from the issue are jumping on the bandwagon as well.

Nintendo should fix the issue. Even though it's not that widespread it still deserves a fix.

Seriously I wish it was a more wideapread issue, so Nintendo would be more pressured into adequately dealing with the issue. I do agree Nintendo has not handled the issue as well as it could have been.

You are ignoaring the fact that this is just a random French consumer group that is letting their hatred of Nintendo get in the way of the facts.

Also winning in court is not always the best result. You have too much faith in the legal system if you believe this. When you have judges and juries that have no idea about the subject matter of the case, wrong verticts happen.

Assuming this is a fair trial with an good judge, this should be an easy opportunity for Nintendo to prove this whole issue has been over blown, is hatred on nintendo by the French consumer group and Nintendo has adequately dealt with the small but important issue at hand.

However if the judge is incompetant, then we might see the wrong result occur.

PS. Before you say the right result is more hurt on Nintendo, it's not. Frivilous cases like the one from this consumer group need to be stopped ASAP.

Also this is the same group who claimed the joycon was the mosy fragile product of the year back in 2019.

Hard-software integration is just saying the next console will be part of the vertically integrated Nintendo is building upon. It says nothing about the form of the console or when it will release.

Also the R&D for a new console needs to start now so in a few years it'll release when it needs to.

For those complaining about the review, NintendoLife don't talk technical in most of their reviews. Stuff like frame rates, colour balances, bloom, anti-aliasing sound distortion etc etc. Most Nintendo Life reviews don't talk about any of this.

A shame though as it's an opportunity for improvement in the NL reviews.

The Switch version of all 3 games will become their own category. So you're not competing with the already existing N64/GC/Wii times.

The N64 versions will always be king because they have the glitches that allow 16, 1 and 0 stars as well as the faster ways to do 70 and 120 star.

Yeah I heard that about TLOU2 also. This practice runs really deep in the industry. Makes any score at all hard to trust on Metacritic. The sad part is when the developers ask the reviewers to change review content, not just the final score.

That's why I don't frequent metacritic anymore. I just watch a few review videos from reviewers I trust and the digital foundry video if one exists to make up my mind.

This is a pointless move by Metacritic. They are just delaying the review bombing by 36 hours. Also the critic reviews are just as broken as they always have been.
We don't see much talk about practices of companies like SquareEnix and EA who have asked reviewers to change review content or improve their overall review score.

Here's the situation.

Critic reviews are broken because of the developer interference (mentioned above) and the fact that most developers don't post out review copies to people who give bad scores to their games.

User reviews are broken due to overly good and overly bad revirw bombing.

In theory Metacritic is a good concept. In practice it's broken because the critics and public abuse the system.
