@SLIGEACH_EIRE You mixed them up and got it wrong in your post though. Since you know the difference can you place use the terms correctly in your future posts here thanks.
Nintendo Life are becoming very click baity and not seeing the truth these days.
Super Mario Run is a quick hit of cash (along with the MiniNES) to hold Nintendo over till the Switch releases. How well SMR does from here on means nothing as it's already done it's job for Nintendo.
The game is great for what it is. A casual runner with a little pvp content. Cherry picking a few negative reviews (most likely from people who hate everything Nintendo do not prove your point. most of the negative reviews (yes I have read many of them) are all complaining about the fact that the game is not free. They are not complaining about the game, only the fact that the game is not free.
@DanteSolablood Nintendo made the prototype with Sony. True. I've even seen demos for it. And yes the CD-i thing exists too. Nintendo thought they wanted it but realised at the last minute that it would be a bad idea. In hindsight I think Nintendo were correct.
Nintendo changed their mind on this just before the deal was signed. Saved by the bell so to speak. This did anger Sony and further strengthened their efforts to make their own console.
@DanteSolablood Sony wanted it but Nintendo said no. If Nintendo was on board it would have happened. Nintendo were happy to move on. Nintendo even canned Star Fox 2 because they wanted the N64 to be the next big thing.
@Syrek24 I will quote you because what you said is just so true and well said.
"Nintendo fans are truly some of the most ungrateful, spoiled fanbase I've ever seen. It's not about having fun with you guys. It's about sales and about staying in the past, never looking towards the future like Nintendo always does. Your love is as hallow as your passion for gaming. Soulless and fake."
To the people complaining about the lack of WiiU 3rd party games I say this:
How many Sony 1st party games are there for the PS4? How many MS 1st party games are there for the XB1?
At times Nintendo fill the void when the 3rd parties are not there. That's not a bad thing, that's just how Nintendo consoles are.
Sony and MS need 3rd parties because they have nothing else. Nintendo need 3rd parties too but nowhere as much because Nintendo make their own games as well.
"As Games Jump to Nintendo Switch, We See How Quickly the Industry Moves On"
Everything is wrong about that title. The industry is not willing to move on. PS4 Pro? XB1 Scorpio? The industry is resistant to change. They want to keep their consoles for as long as possible. Sony and MS are famous for making mid generation consoles, pro or slim versions to extend how long their current console can be sold. They are resistant to move on to a new console without backwards compatability.
It's Nintendo who have had an approx 5 year console cycle since the SNES that is bucking the industry trend to move on to newer consoles at a much more rapid pace. I do think the Switch if it sells really well could be sold for longer than 5 years though.
Also the article author is clearly ignoring game stores outside the one he charry picked to talk about here. My EB games has the Nintendo section right at the front of the store. Actually all EB games stores in Australia do. (Nintendolife had Australia though).
Everyone else? You just have to suck it up and understand that this is a Japanese company. You can always watch the video later on. But the Japanese media can't miss the keynote, as they are attending live.
The rest of the world have to realise that the timing is designed for the japenese media attending the event, not your little corner of the world to fit in with your job or your sleeping habits.
@shaneoh I know. I saw the facebook message. Thanks for sharing it though so everyone here can see.. You're doing what Nintendolife did not. Thank you so much.
Nintendo Life at it's Australian hating worst. It's not hard to add in the Australian times. But we all know Nintendo life hate Australia with a passion. Disappointing. At least we can be happy that Nintendo care for all regions (including Australia).
I hope Nintendo Life does the right thing in the future. Not being against one of the major Nintendo regions.
@SushiGummy That is totally ok. Your experiences. I was just pointing your experiences are of feeling hurt because you have it slightly less better now than people from other regions of the world. But still currently better.
I do not expect you to understand how EU/UK and Australians feel about high Nintendo game and VC prices along with longer waits to get games (mostly longer as a few did come earlier).
@Clownshoes do you know the difference between constructive criticism and blind hatred? Fans can still be critical but they not hate Nintendo blindly for no other reason apart from discrimination.
@NintyFan there are discounts all the time. There was even a Nintendo humble indie bundle. So I don't know what your talking about when you say there was few discounts. That is just not true.
@SushiGummy I don't like the fact that most NoA releases cost less money and are released earlier than in the EU and Australia (which Nintendo Life hate with a passion).
Also you have the World Store. The single such store in the world.
So quit complaining. It is time you understood how good you have it in NA.
@StephenYap3 Hockey does have a ball. A hard white one. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Field_hockey
It's actually referred to by most competing bodies as just Hockey. No one in the sport calls it field hockey.
@MarvinTheMartian So? The list is for your favourite SNES games, not your favourite US released SNES games. Sure we're celebrating the US release of the SNES here but there is no rule mentioned that the game had to be released in the US.
Also a good SNES game is a good SNES game regardless of where it was or was not released.
Terranigma is the best SNES game (in my opinion). Best by a huge margin. Nothing even comes close (in my opinion).
It's not on the poll (but it should be). It's a hidden gem that more people NEED to play.
Any best SNES game polls without Terranigma, are broken polls. Thus I abstain from taking part in the poll as it is funtamentally flawed.
Some of the other SNES games I liked a lot were:
Donkey Kong Country 2
Earthworm Jim 2
Secret of Evermore (not the best game ever but I liked it a lot)
Star Fox
Super Metroid
Tales of Phantasia
TMNT4
Tetris Attack
I am glad NintendoLife is reporting this. They report not much else else Australian and just ignore us. This is the first thing in a long time they've mentioned Australia in. I've even asked NintendoLife why this is? Their answer was "if you don't like it there's the door".
If NintendoLife does not want to report much about the Nintendo happenings in Australia, that's cool, just be nice about it and not so arrogant.
Back on topic. I would be wary about signing up to this. 1. You must have gmail or google+ to sign up. Not good for those who do not trust google with their data. 2. They ask you for your level in another one of the developers games to sign up for pokemon go. A sneaky way to cherry pick the users who alredy pay mony to use other games the same devloper has made. So the beta lottery seems not really that random, more cherry picked. 3. This looks pretty bad to be honest. I am Australian and I know here there are times where you will not be around too many people. If you live in a small town, the usefulness of this game is diminished greatly.
The idea is good but in practice ot really just does not work to well. We shall see how popular this is when it launches properly.
"Among all of the excitement around the launch of My Nintendo, gamers in Europe and PAL territories can also see another promised feature in action"
Not true. Not all PAL territories have this at launch. Later we will though.

£279.99 = $454.63 Australian.

@SLIGEACH_EIRE The SSD space is 32 GB as lsited in the rumour. The Memory is rumoured to be 4GB.
You need to learn the difference between SSD and memory.

Re: Editorial: As Games Jump to Nintendo Switch, We See How Quickly the Industry Moves On
@3MonthBeef
The PS4 is just a better PS3.
The PS4 Pro is just a better PS4.
Mid cycle or new generation, all have the same results. There is no big shake up of how the players play the game like the Wii, WiiU and Switch have.

Re: Poll: How Important is the Virtual Console, and GameCube, for the Nintendo Switch?
@BensonUii What return? The WiiU played Wii games natively on the WiiU. The Wii has never been virtualised by Nintendo. Only by Dolphin.
Re: Poll: How Important is the Virtual Console, and GameCube, for the Nintendo Switch?
@TreonsRealm There was no Wii VC. The WiiU played the Wii titled (on disc and digital) natively.

Put Terranigma on the VC first. it's a better game and has an English version already.

NX: The world's most powerful totally portable dedicated gaming console.
Nintendo can say this as the iPad/iPhone is productivity first and gaming second.

http://www.nintendo.com.au/support/mynintendo/faq
NintendoLife does not give any fudge about Australia so NintendoLife did not mention this. I am not surprised.
