Re: Nintendo Scores Another Victory In Its War Against Switch Piracy

tha_whole_9

@Mr-Fuggles777 this is the only comment. Came in here to almost post the same thing.

Good job fighting this trivial nonsense. Now where are the games? 5 years after consolidating development teams and cutting 2 concurrent systems down to one hybrid. This, while also outsourcing crucial titles to 2nd parties i.e. Metroid Prime 4 who also cannot deliver.

Nintendo is a joke anymore.

Re: Review: DOOM Eternal - This 'Impossible' Port Is Nothing Short Of A Miracle

tha_whole_9

@JuiceMan_V i disagree. Games like Doom Eternal do not showcase what the switch is all about. People aren't going out buying switches in droves to play games like doom eternal on it. They just aren't. Go look at the sales numbers for AAA 3rd party ports on switch. Now look at how those games sell on playstation and xbox.

Switch is what every nintendo console before it has been, a nintendo 1st party game machine. People are playing Mario, Zelda and animal crossing on it (and fortnite but that game is an anomaly and i think is being played on refrigerators and toasters too).

Plus, playing doom eternal or doom 2016 at anything less than 60fps is a cardinal sin.

Re: Poll: What Was The Best Switch Launch Game (That Wasn't Zelda: Breath Of The Wild)?

tha_whole_9

good grief that launch line up was bad. Switch's success is literally breath of the wild. Then riding the wave of fortnite and uptick with animal crossing.

What do they even have planned for the successor? Is a Wii U part 2 on the horizon? Could be.

Better hope Metroid Prime 4 releases by the end of the switch 2's lifetime. Silver lining is it will probably still debut before doom eternal gets ported.

Re: Switch Can Break The Traditional Hardware Cycle And Become Nintendo's iPhone, Says Analyst

tha_whole_9

Huh? What iphone ever went 3+ years without a successor?

"and the circular nature of the video game hardware arena means there's the risk that the Kyoto-based veteran could fumble its next machine, just as it did with the Wii U"

Oh they will. It's important to remember that during the height of the Wii success, Iwata was quoted in an interview that they couldn't afford to rest on their laurels of the success of the Wii. Several months later, they rolled out their second biggest failure behind the Virtual Boy.

Re: Talking Point: There's Never Been A Better Time For Gaming Consumers, Nor A Worse Time For Gaming Innovation

tha_whole_9

What some Nintendo fans don't seem to realize is that all the gimmicky hardware innovations is exactly why they are a niche market. This started with N64 in some way and that 3 pronged nightmare. GCN obviously slipped up because of the mini-DVD approach. Wii was a big hit but was a secondary console for gamers. Wii U's gamepad ran people off in droves. Switch again, secondary console for many gamers.

@Stocksy you must be old.

Re: Nintendo Explains How Motion Controls Work In Super Mario Galaxy On Switch

tha_whole_9

"One game in the Super Mario 3D All-Stars collection that's got some extra attention so far is Super Mario Galaxy.

Right now, it's mostly because everyone wants to know how motion controls in this game work on the Nintendo Switch across docked, tabletop and handheld play."

No. Right now, it's mostly because everyone wants to know why galaxy 2 was omitted from this compilation. Classic Nintendo.
