Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (February 18th)

I recently discovered that I bought all seven of the Picross e games for 3DS a while back which I assume was in a drunken state, so I’ll be chipping away at the first one of those. I’m also going to unwrap Akai Katana Shin for Switch for the first time today. I just finished up Omori a couple of days ago, but I haven’t decided which RPG to get into next. I’m leaning towards either Atelier Sophie or Chrono Cross, but that could completely change to something a bit shorter like Aragami 2 or Kamiwaza.

@antisumo haha Yeah, EA's a wild card for sure. I loved Power Pros on Wii too. I didn't play the DS one; I should try to find that. The Pro Yakyuu Famista series has had a couple of Switch releases in Japan as well, and I like those ones even more than Power Pros. Both of them have had a little RPG included with them too which were fun. That series is the original RBI Baseball before it became the abomination it is today. I'd love to see Bandai Namco do an MLB game in Famista style. They can call it something other than RBI Baseball. These are all just fantasies, but in a perfect world we'd have too many great baseball games than to know what to do with.

The Japanese only release of Pro Baseball Spirits 2021/2022 is by far my favourite sports game on Switch. It would be nice to see Konami make an MLB game with the same engine because it plays much better than The Show 22. Both Pro Yakyuu Famista games are really good too.

@swoose It's NPB licensed, but it also has a story mode. You can order the physical copy or get it on the Japanese eshop, but just know there will be absolutely no English in the game besides the word "eBaseball". I'm guessing it won't get a western release unless Konami attains the MLB license which I doubt will happen. It would sure be great if they did though! I'd also like to see Bandai Namco release Pro Yakyuu Famista (the original RBI Baseball series) with an MLB license.

@LinktotheFuture Yes, it's the same series. It just hasn't stopped in Japan; whereas, the west has only received it a few times.

I was going to get The Show, but then Konami went and gave a free update for the 2022 season in Pro Baseball Spirits 2021. Updated rosters/players, added Ichiro as a legendary player, and daily scenario challenges for every team are back. I'll just stick with that for this season.
