In-person events have been slowly returning around the world, and MomoCon is the latest annual convention to come back after a two-year hiatus. And they've got an extra-special guest to celebrate.
The gaming, comic, and pop culture show will take place in Atlanta at Georgia World Congress Center from 26th to 29th May, and will have gaming tournaments for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Brawlhalla, Dragon Ball FighterZ, and Smash Ultimate.
Most importantly, the voice of everyone's favourite Italian plumber, Mario, will also be attending. Charles Martinet was at the last event in 2019, so it'll feel like a real homecoming for repeat attendees. Last time, fans could get an autograph from the man who also lends his dulcet tones to Luigi, Wario, Waluigi, and the baby brothers. But did you know that Martinet, as Wario, lent his voice to a British commercial that encouraged you to go to Tesco?
If you're thinking of attending the show — where masks will be mandatory in all indoor areas — then you can book your tickets over on the official MomoCon website. Prices start at $35 for a single day, or $85 for a full weekend pass.
Will you be attending MomoCon at the end of the month? Let us know!

Met him at galaxy con in Raleigh a few years back. Not only did he talk in all the voices the whole time but he sang me Happy Birthday as Mario with Wario interrupting to finishing it. Man is such a talent and when I told him his voice played a big part of my childhood he just grinned and gave out a big Yippee! Love this guy!
Also asked who he enjoyed voicing the most and to my surprise he started talking like baby Mario 😂
Oh hey, I've always wanted to meet Mario. Didn't realize Mario was real though, I always just thought he was just a video game character.
Don't care much for celebrity culture, but this guy seems so lovely.
Still bummed he's not the Mario in the upcoming movie.
MomoCon? All I know is there'd better be an assortment of Tibetan steamed dumplings or it'll be a major disappointment.
I'm really salty the fact he's not doing mario voice for super mario movie I can't see Chris Pratt doing it good ughhhh.
Bummer I'm going to miss Momocon this year, hope he comes to Dragoncon in September too.
@Thwomp_Stomper Definitely need to meet him one day, hope he comes to Galaxycon in Raleigh again!
@OldManHermit and peaches
Met him a few years ago at a Regina Convention, wonderful man.
@Gamergirl94 Just wait until you see the movie before judging.
Its a you!... MAR10NET.
Did someone here say "Momo-Mario"?
Every time I see him pop up online these days I think “Oh no, is this an obit?!”
Charles usually doesn’t circulate in articles until a new Mario release is near. Would be cool to meet him, he has been to a few cons near me in the past.
Met him in 2008. He signed posters for my brothers and me and said my sister was a princess. We were all so happy to see him. Even my parents couldn't believe how nice he was.
He was also at Indiana-con a little bit ago
Met him at E3 2018. He is by far the most lovely and nice celebrity person I’ve ever talked to!
I don’t care for celebrities at all, but if every other ones were like him, that would make a point for me to care.
I don't generally care much for the world of celebrities but Charles Martinet is one of the very few celebs I do genuinely care about. The guy is a blast.😊
I don't think I ever heard of Momo-con before but its bad I can't attend, love to meet Martinet.
