Re: Review: A Short Hike - A Landmark Game For All Ages

sportvater

@Friendly hi, I would call it genre defining. Just played through it and loved it to bits. Will try to convince my wife trying it. She is not a gamer at all. I think, this game has the potential to show her at least what gaming is about in a short time.

For me, BOTW is a perfect LP, this is a perfect track. Since they only ask the price of a single, it's a perfect experience.
I totally back this 10/10.

@fafonio thank you very much for the insight! Back then the far too small onscreen-text annoyed me so much that I rather played Donkey Kong. When I put in the disk a few days away, the text size still annoys... but maybe I should try to handle it. Didn't that annoy you at all? Cheers for the explanation and effort!! Couldn't find anything about the non-online issue on the net. Kudos for you!

@GoblinKing86 it's not about dying. It's about hospitals that don't have the capacities to treat people the way they deserve. We are talking about people (like your parents or a friend's parent) lying on their chests half-naked dying alone in the hallway with no chance to say good-bye to their beloved and no chance for the children to get in touch. THAT is the nightmare we are facing. Get it in perspective.

Edit: and we talk about the souls of the clinic personal getting scarves they will never truly recover from.

Re: Xbox's Phil Spencer Has "A Ton Of Respect" For Nintendo, But Is Over Rumours About Select Titles Coming To Switch

I got an X-box-Switch-Combo. I like it. Of course I would looooooove to buy a PS-4 too, but you know: wife, kid, BACKLOG.... Nintendo is my home. So I have to choose the secondary wisely. I'll wait at least 12 months before I buy a second new generation console. I'll decide by the time then. Still lovin Spencer, though. Right mindset, but a bit too less output gameswise at his company.

Off Topc: Man, I wish I could meet up with my PS-buddies these days. Staying inside sucks. I hope everybody here is somehow getting along in this situation. Feeling with the loners and the ones married with kids. I'm rather in my position. But both have hard times. Let's keep it all friendly and hope, people from different platforms lower their swords. Looking forward to the next gen. Peace!

Re: Site News: The First Ever Piece Of Lovely Nintendo Life Merch Has Landed

@Ooyah it depends where you live, I think. Here in Germany XXXL is quite huge, but as far as I know it's way smaller in the US. Never been there (though I'm planning to). But I worked in fashion and heard about it.

Edit: I do not want to offend anyone. Just trying to say, there are other fits in different markets.

A nice weekend to all of you!

Re: Mario Kart Tour Heads To Tokyo This Week With New Courses And Characters On The Way

Hello there lovely people! In my opinion, NL has to report on this. It's Nintendo after all. They did report and keep on reporting on the subject in a very objective way. @Scully1888 did never neglect the fact that the pay to win prices and loot boxes are a big jump on a Goomba. And we all love Goombas, right? In my opinion, the score is too high. A 4/10 would fit. But that is MY opinion. And I don't have any mentionable expertise on mobile games. Maybe @scully1888 does. Or doesn't. It doesn't matter: To the retro consoleros this might be an offence. But NL has to go with the time. And I can't understand that some folks are getting that irritated about reporters doing their jobs. It got a 7/10 if I rember correctly. And for a mobile game it might be just the right score. Even if I and some other people, who I would really want to have beer and a round of real Mario Kart with, do disagree.

Re: Review: Mario Kart Tour - Steer Around The Gacha For A Fun, Free Take On The Series

sportvater

@sportvater replying to my younger self: played it every night since launch.... two weeks? Or three? It doesn't matter: it's crap. I LOVE Nintendo. But this is crap. De-installed it just now. Never coming back. Maybe it's the controls, but the force to be lucky with the right party time in races to get enough points is ridiculous. Believe me: it sucks. Don't waste your time like I did. Peace

I like it. But hoping they will transfer the new tracks to MK8. It's a nice little teaser for everyone who hasn't got a switch yet and will lure gamers to our community. Thumbs up! And a seven hits it. Thanks for the review.

Edit: It's shit after all. 2 weeks in and it's boring. Plus the rating depends on luck as well. With no "Party Time" in a race you simply can't get all the stars. Super annoying and stupid. I would rate it 3 out of 10.

Re: Poll: Is Your Switch Lite Suffering From Joy-Con Drift?

sportvater

@Barbara001 actually, this is the first article or poll on NL that really annoys me. I hope someone from the editor team (great job btw. Normally. Honestly.) Reads this and sees the confusion they created by this. Hoping there will be some learning. Greets to you Barbara! 😁

Re: Review: Legend Of The Skyfish - A Poor-Man's Zelda

sportvater

@earthb0und no. You have to compare. And if it sucks in comparison, trying to be what it's not, it sucks. People are allowed to compare games. Especially if they try to be of the same kind. We are not talking about music. My thanks to NL. Sorry for the developers. But they know. Try harder next time.

Re: New Microsoft Controller Patent Sure Does Remind Us Of The Nintendo Switch

sportvater

@Alucard83 that I don't know, of course. I think one would have to experience it by using. I got big hands. But I know what you mean. I like the concept anyway. Plus, I don't know why: I like Microsoft. Since a the Xbox 360 they at least tried to be open minded for niche products (like the controller for handicapped people) and less profit orientation (backwards comparability). I feel that MS takes a lot from the Nintendo spirit nowadays. So I say: bring it on. Having my games on the go is always a plus. As I said, I see your point
