now i am eager to see the download size. if there's no price difference to the (semi-) physical and the size is moderate, i'll go digital. maybe gotta finish RSR1 & 2 till february to clear some space on my sd…
@PlayedNSlayed i can only speak for the swiss estore, but yes. if you read the detailed description of the RSR2 estore page, they mention, you will get a discount to RSR1 if you purchase RSR2. so i bought 2 first and the download wasn't even completed, entered the eshop and went to the RSR1 page and the price changed from CHF 19.90 to CHF 15.00.
my first two big digital switch games. would have loved to play in the morning, but hopefully the downloads will be finished when i return in the evening -_-
on the positive side, if you purchase RSR 2 first, you get a 20% discount on RSR1.
so glad this is happening. right after purchase i found arms to be fun but a bit lacking in terms of longterm gameplay. the badge system, unlocking arms and now party crash really help the otherwise stellar game to stay fresh!
YESSSS! to be honest, i won't be needing another switch game for the next two months: content updates for arms & splatoon, dlc for zelda, mario power moons to finish and finding every doom upgrade & collectible – hard work!
IMO publishers should release the complete game(s) on cart (updates and optional multiplayer are okayish) or go digital only. i will be careful to steer clear of half-baked solutions like the RE physical release…
controls are a bit unprecise. i think i would be way better at this game with mouse & keyboard… my advice for portable gaming is to turn off chroma aberration and set the motion blur to low or off. makes everything look sharper.
DOOM!!! when I get tired of the bloodbath, i will be looking for more moons & coins in mario odyssey also a friend will come over with battle front 2. wish i had time to play some splatoon or arms – oh well…
this will be the first game i purchase digitally rather than physical. i don't know about your countries, but here (switzerland) the eshop prices are sometimes 1/3 more expensive than physical (looking at you, zelda & mario kart), which i do not support. RE however is quite moderately priced compared to the american price tag – and my sd card has still 160GB free psace
@Ralek85 off-topic
Army of Two!!! now that's a game i'd like a remake of – played the hell out of both these games at a friends'. would also suit the switch ad-hoc local multiplayer nature…
@Ralek85 no, i did not own a nintendo console since the original gameboy – i was playing a lot of FPS on the pc though. so, voice or even text chat is key for coordinated team work – as in battlefield 2 or teamfortress for instance (yeah, i'm that old). in splatoon i just enter matches with random people, which is fine, but it would be more engaging to have built in friendlists & voicechat – hell, i would even join a clan! but as of now, this is too tedious for me.
personally, splatoon 2 is perfect for pickup & play and very addictive. a very nicely designed experience. the campaign imo falls short, but is a nice effort for completionists.
since the switch is my one and only game machine now (except the snes mini), i will have to wait for overwatch to get ported – seems to be a big thing.
quick question: is FE Warriors really that much better than fate/extella? i haven't really played musou before and neither FE games, but was sorely disappointed by fate/extella – to me, it is just plain boredom. so should i give FEW a chance?
@thesilverbrick sure, i know that – was just generalising about the practice of cheap-porting something to see whether or not people buy this stuff. not everybody who would happily buy RE, would also buy a shoddy port of an age-old game.
i do not get the whole reasoning of "if our first crappy game we publish on switch (aka SF2) does not sell well enough, we won't publish interesting games".
@Ralek85 to be honest, the campaign is nothing to write home about – this is definitely a great multiplayer game (with poor-to-nonexistent friends system).
glad they finally implemented a system for replayability. as you can now unlock different arms faster, it is also easier to try new combos and find a combination that suits you.
@Wolfy76700 thanks for pointing this out, will let them know – might wait for the eshop to open up for non-game apps first though. this would be a (small) dream come true!
Not bad, but will this transfer feature actually help people whose switch died and sent it in for repairs in order to save their savegames? wouldn't cloudsaves be better, since you actually don't need an intact unit to transfer the files?
also, if they release netflix and youtube apps, i would love to have a kodi app – would completely replace my appletv
personally, i played the game one chapter at a time – after finishing one chapter i went back and got the gold trophies and secret areas. this is easier the second time around, since your characters get upgrades after defeating a chapter boss. the money I then invested in the best available weapons.
doing chalenges and finding treasure boxes also helps in building out your skill trees and finding coin.
i only got stuck on some challenges, which i had to google. I hate the challenges wehre you have to reach several areas on the map and stand in the exact right spot in order to have an enemy or tornado bounce you into the target area.
just got this mail from ubisoft – maybe this helps those with download trouble:

glad the joy-cons got more stability now!
Re: Egads, You Can Now Use Wireless Headphones With Switch Thanks To The 4.0.0 Update
AAAAWWW – reading the article i was getting excited for bluetooth headphone support, but wait – N O T !
wireless headphones = bluetooth, without pluging some akward dongle crap in!
reminds me of apple, with their load of adapters you need in order to get everything to work with your shiny new CrapBook

Finally they added an incentive to play this game continuously with the badges. only the arms for unlocks were kinda lame.
