I once made the mistake of purchasing fake copies of Mario Kart DS and New Super Mario Bros. off of Ebay.
Download play (playing wirelessly against a local friend without the game) didn't work for both carts, and more often than not, finishing a GP Cup (in Mario Kart DS) would corrupt the save file and make the game crash. If I wanted to have another race, I'd have to leave the card in the freezer for 5 minutes and then shake it before re-inserting it into the system.
All in all, the price was too good to be true, and I learned my lesson: buy official games and be weary of obscure dealers.
It's not THAT big of a deal. Having used the unity engine before, there has been an export-to-dev Wii add-on for some time now. . . .Press Play used it for Max & the Magic Marker back in 2010.
$60 for a retail game could hold up, but they should at least make the downloads a little cheaper, say $50. Lets face it, memory and bandwidth do cost something, right.
"Amongst all of the details about the Wii U hardware, one potentially surprising aspect was the relatively small amount of hard drive space." At that capacity, I highly doubt it's a hard-drive.
Also, if you're using external storage, it's very possible that you'll notice a significant drop in speed (due to firmware, USB 2.0, and cache sizes).
In its present state, I see no reason to "upgrade" to the 3DS XL. My 3DS works fine, though, I must say the removal of a ridge around the touchscreen is certainly an improvement.
I wonder if the game will run in "Enhanced" Mode? When Shantae was initially released, GBA owners could supposedly enhance their experience by using it with their new system and also receive a special in-game bonus deep into the story.
EDIT: what @metafaniel said
@TheDreamingHawk I have played through the game and can say for a fact that the game uses save files . . . 3 save slots to be exact!
I think this poll was severely missing a "Don't Care" choice.
. . . but personally, I really like how the Home light accents a darker controlled, but at the same time, I don't like how the painted "TV" and "Power" buttons look. That said, for me it'll somewhat be the flip of a coin.
Most players have a white Wii (and presumably white Wiimotes), so it would reason to believe that they would want to keep a nice, neat set and go with white.
@Pengaweeno My point exactly. I care almost as much about preserving my saved data as transferring the games themselves. This is something Nintendo needs to get with their portables that just because game and save were housed cartridge does not mean that things have to stay that way. If anything they should take it a step further separating online and offline save files.
The whole idea of the Miiverse is pretty great, but I hope Nintendo doesn't use it to spam us with games we don't own/have little interest in. It would be nice if they adopt the idea of "stepping out into the unknown" (eg. outer space) for such titles.
Within the last week, I've gotten used to stylus controls and I see how dual-analogue would be a problem. If you don't believe me, trying playing through Portal/2 both ways and tell me how it works out.
I couldn't agree more! Don't get me wrong the quality is unquestionable, but with each consecutive release, the one seems less special. It's time for Mario to take a power nap, ant let other well-rested Nintendo franchises carry their weight.

Going to have to watch this one.
Re: Nintendo Download: 18th October 2012 (North America)
Good update, but I already have a retail copy of what I wanted from the retail downloads list.
Re: Check Out These Amazing Nintendo Can Sculptures
I'm surprised no-one commented on this one yet.

Re: Dr. Mario Online Rx Makes Club Nintendo Members Feel Better
Already have it!
Great game nonetheless.

Re: Review: Zelda II: The Adventure of Link (3DS eShop / NES)
"The original Zelda was viewed entirely from a top-down perspective"
lies
Re: Wii U Pre-Order Guide
Just thought I'd mention, the other gamestop bundles have been removed and the links no longer work
Re: Wii U Price And Release Dates Confirmed
It'll totally clash with my other controllers, but I guess I'll go with black.

Just this

Re: Rumour: Nintendo Land May Not be Bundled With Wii U
Yea, I'm not really buying that $99 price tag.
Re: Grab a Gold Nunchuk from US Club Nintendo
Finally, something good to spend my coins on!

Yes! more polls.

Congrats James! You will be dearly missed.
Best of wishes.

What about Rhythm Heaven Fever?
Re: Pink and Blue 3DS Consoles to Hit Taiwan and Hong Kong
Seems like a pretty open and shut case.
Re: Letter Box Update Adds Coloured Ink
@James just defied gravity

EDIT: that's better (Swapnote QR)
Re: Letter Box Update Adds Coloured Ink
@James How do you make eShop QR codes?
Re: Letter Box Update Adds Coloured Ink
Didn't work for me either, but perhaps that's because the eShop hasn't updated for the day yet.
Re: Feature: Sharing Some Hits at a StreetPass Event
StreetPass Hits: 72
Plaza Population: 379
Blame Mario Kart 7
Re: Wii Has Featured Fewer New IPs Than Rivals
This is utter nonsense! What about the online storefront? Where's Maboshi's Arcade, Bonsai Barber, Pushmo, Freaky Forms, and Dillon's Rolling Western?
Re: Feature: Summer Sizzlers
"or the time you got chased by a straw dog exploring the abandoned mill?"I've actually never seen a straw dog before.
Oh wait, never-mind.

Come on Wii U 3DS Player!

. . .and who's Zelda?

The Lego Batman 2 demo is 753 blocks!!!
My new SD card can't arrive soon enough!
Re: E3 2012: The Most Gorgeous Wii U Screenshots Yet
From a graphical standpoint, I'd have to say Pikmin 3. However, I much prefer the game-play of Rayman Legends.

New Super Mario Bros. 2 and New Super Mario Bros. U Overkill!
Re: E3 2012: Ubisoft Announces Just Dance 4 for Wii U
Oh dear . . . the lady on the left is missing an arm.
Re: Nintendo Download: 31st May 2012 (Europe)
"Europe gets a trio of new titles this week including a couple of but goodies. Here's what's up for you EUers this week."
I'm not sure I want any 'butt̶ goodies'
Re: Rumour: Nintendo to Announce Bigger 3DS Tomorrow
...or they could just let you play your 3DS games on the Wii U. ...and for download-able titles they could use a sign-in/out method.
Re: Ocarina of Time Makes a Good Bedtime Story
They should place those portal mirrors on opposite sides of the room.

non-specific action-figure FTW!!

Re: Upcycle Nintendo Gear into Office Equipment
What!! Flash-drives only come in 8 and 16GB . . .
. . . I was hoping for something more, like say 64GB
Oh well, maybe they could market them as 64Gb.
Very stylish nonetheless.
Re: Iwata Defends Identical Digital and Retail Prices
This, coupled with newly-instated ISP monthly bandwidth limits, download times, and storage costs mean that I'll be holding off for a while.
. . . but hopefully help some developers (without a publisher) get their product to market.
Re: May's Club Nintendo Rewards Are Up Now
Blast it, I already have Pictobits (listens to Credits+ in head).
As for the others, I think I'll pass.
Re: Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed Hits 3DS
Probably not for me. I've still got the first one to play over the summer (along with Generations).
